I'm not sure whether anyone will know this yet, but I'm wondering if the romance dialogue will be flagged seperately again as it was in DA2.

The reason this thought has come to mind is I'm replaying DAO and unintentionally started a romance thread I didn't want with Alistair because I picked  a romance answer when i assumed it was just a nice answer

Now I have an unhappy Alistair because I dumped him and an unhappy Leilana because she thought I was two timing her and I didn't realise or intend to do either!

Please devs let's have the heart and broken heart symbols back in dialogue

Yes, the options which (can possibly) lead to romance are explicitly flagged with icons.

It's the regular tones in conversation options (Direct, Noble, Clever) which no longer have icons.

No icons?  Huh... those seemed kind of useful in DA2.  I hope something has replaced them, like positioning maybe?  (meaning, Direct is always at the bottom, etc)  On the other hand, I heard that the "dominant tone" was removed, so maybe this isn't really that important...

I'm going to assume Direct options (What ill be primarily using) will be the more obvious of the three. I also don't want to be guessing which is noble or clever, but I assume its just based on positioning like renegade/paragon options from mass effect.

From the couple of dialogue I've seen , it's like DA2 :

Nice on top.

Clever middle.

Direct at the bottom.

Does the PC get flagged with a tone like in DA2? Or are we a bit more free to flit about from one tone to the other without fear of it affecting storylines?

Spoiler

Huh, so the middle option is 'Clever' now?

I hope that will still satisfy my desire for the snarky option. :S

I don't think so.

Auto-dialog is neutral, last I heard.

Huh, that doesn't make much sense, I mean how is one supposed to know wich tone we are using if there is no icon to indentify them?

Huh...

I assume he worded it that way because everyone won't be interested in you.

Presumably that means like in DA2, the 1st Heart icon you pressed didn't immediately lock you into romance. So clicking it at 1st "might" lead to romance but not necessarily if you don't keep hitting on that person. Or I guess if you're a jerk to them

the Inquisition Advisors will also provide special skill training that will unlock new dialogue options as well.

Some of those new dialogues may allow you to say things more likeable.

I personally prefer when a personality becomes the pc's dominant primary personality. I love my aggressive and sarcastic Hawkes.

I liked that a lot as well. In retrospect  it was a fantastic idea if thye ever wanted to bring back Hawke and have him/her have an authentic personality to the player.

I wonder how quick in the game we can get this perk, I'd love to have the Arcane Knowledge for my mages asap.

Are the regular tones in a fixed location?

Well the Special training each Advisors provides you can pick the training to unlock the dialogue options you like to suit your Inquisitor's personality. Such as Leliana Perks will provide unlock Dialogues for Knowledge about Magic and Cunning Type Dialogues. The Inquisition Perks will unlock new dialogue for History knowledge, understanding of different cultures, and Personal background history.

The Perk System is designed to allow players to shape their Inquisitor into the personality they want them to be.

The Special Training also provide special bonuses as well to go with their new Dialogue options.

But will we have some of those in advance ? For exemple the Terevelyan Inquisitor is a noble who was raised to become a chantry person or a templar, they should already have had expensive lessons on history and the chantry, like the HN Warden was shown to have in Origins. And obviously a mage would know about the arcane, especially an elven mage since they're a First, learning arcane knowledge is their function in the clan
