Realizing this is pure speculation, as the game isn't out yet, but yet my curiosity is high. How leveled up does a team have to be in order to kill dragons or giants/trolls? I'm guessing if we've mastered the right focus ability/spell, we can do some real damage. I hope.
So How Leveled Up Do You Have to Be...

Dragons seem like some of the more difficult opponents we will come across, but I dont see them being purely end game. As such, Id say it will be mix of good gear and levels, plus a focus on being tactical. That way someone in the level 8-12 range could probably take one down.

As mentioned before the High Dragons are Endgame bosses so you should take them on some time in higher levels. Someone in lvl 8-12 could take one down but they will perfomr about 20 or less damage per hit which will take hours to kill and the High Dragons will mostly 1 hit KO your team.
Not to mention taking too long may cause the High Dragon to flee the area before you can kill it which is why it is important to wait until endgame levels.

I don't think this is true. In the one demo with the Qunari female mage, the group was only lvl 10 (I believe) and they took down a high dragon.

Fair enough but considering they were the people who made the game and have likely played it an obscene amount of times. Although some people like me in DAO are never good enough and use healing potions every five seconds like with flemeth dragon

I'm pretty sure that demo was on god mode, though. You might be able to take down a dragon that had a higher level than you, but I bet that you would have used up all of your consumable gear by the time you were done.

I saw a video of a level 12 and his party get one hit KOed by a level 13 giant on medium, so...As mentioned before the High Dragons are Endgame bosses so you should take them on some time in higher levels. The big dragons? Probably near top level, they're supposed to be endgame content.
Buuut we may run into very young dragons like the one in origins that you run into doing the werewolf quest. Or we could fight some drakes. Maybe a varterral? Dragons lite if you will, long before top level.

Too be fair, I believe it's been stated that the Flemeth battle was one of (if not the) hardest battles in the game.

Flemeth and the High Dragon are a couple of the hardest fights in DA:O. Flemeth being harder because of the very limited space that you have to fight her in. I enjoy beating her more for the challenge than anything but after a certain point I can do it pretty easily.

As with the previous titles, strategy is likely to be the most important determinant of success or failure.

They have come out and said that they changed the settings on the game for the demo, they had insane amounts of health and stamina as well as a lot of talents they shouldnt have been able to unlock at that level. so they cheated
