So the shields and armours just....decide to grow back together again afterwards?

You must have a real problem with the fact that a dagger does 1d4 damage in D&D, huh? Getting stabbed usually hurts. :P

haven't read or seen too much about the game yet but from what I have seen the most letdown comes from not being able to customize like you want(stat point etc...)

also not keen on taking out previous specs like healing and blood magic(would have been able to keep them and still hold onto the lore imo by tweaking how they work and not publicly yell out that you're a blood mage... then again sometimes you have to use tactics people don't like to protect them would have loved to see the opinion of npc's on this)

must say that when I heard about not being able to choose where your points go in stats and no healing has made me wait to play this game atleast until I have finished some other games on my list but as long as I can play a 100% support then I don't see anything too bad about the game.

have to see some videos on knight enchanter to see if it can replace healing and has enough spells to not have to take offensive spells.

but those are my only concerns atm from the stuff I have seen or read will wait for actual release to check out more indept videos on everything while I finish my other games.

I don't really see any significant changes that would stop me from playing- I like the fight style that they've shown- DAO fight style was agonizing for me- so slow- I have a hard time replaying it once I got used to DA2, honestly. Never played blood mage or duel wielding warrior- so no loss for me. I can't wait to see the story which is the most important part of RPG's, besides gameplay (for me anyway). Also looking forward to Skyhold and customizing armor and characters.

+ the Str bonus. But yes, in the editions after 2ed, daggers are extremely puny. The characters gets too much HP. In 2ed the HP stopped around level 10.

I take it you look for realism in your games... nothing wrong with that, but it is a fantasy game.

So? Fantasy games do have rules and the like too. Realism within an unrealistic setting.

The born-darkspawn don't make their armor and weapons from scratch, they scavenge it all and their sapient ghouls do some shoddy craftmanship to bring it up to functional levels for their more valuable soldiers (as mentioned in this codex entry).  You can probably credit all the really decent armor, such as on the alphas, to ghouls.  Darkspawn are completely parasitic by nature, without other species, they can't create anything, they can't even reproduce.

If the darkspawn live in the dark roads and scavenge all their equipment, why don't they have better armor? You have all those abandoned thaigs which are still full of dwarf gear despite having been infested with darkspawn for years. Plus you have all the gear they could pick up from the dwarves they kill.

Things i hate for now:

- Only 8 friggin slots for abilities

- Spirit Healer and Blood Magic absent

- No healing spell

- No attribute customization

- No Leliana as romance option

Still i'm looking forward playing it.

Dont know need to wait an play the game

Im happy they have changed things though i find it pretty boring playing game 1 buying game 2 and its the same with different faces and then going triple the same again, even though DA:I is the third installment it so far is just the same as playing 3 totally different games and that i like.

For me the combat system of DA:O was boring and is certainly now dated the only thing that held that game for me was the characters and dialogue, DA2 i much preferred the combat although it was a tad OTT so if they hit the sweet spot in DA:I i be more than happy.

I have no worries about the story tbh

I expect bugs and i expect features i do not like, same as every game, but i do expect a game i will like and replay

I love all the changes. I was disillusioned with bio ware when me came out and we got the very controversial ending, but with everything I saw about this game restores my faith. I love the flashy animations (back Flippin ninja varric!) To the limited skill slots (makes me have to think about combat instead of steamroll) to the no healing (or very little healing), I think this will share a spot with the souls games as "best modern rpg" for me :)

Darkspawn are animals. There's some minor evidence they are sapient but none that they're sentient until DA:A and that's because of the Architect. Their footsoldier armour is more elaborate than Lothian's armour. A hurlock alpha has armour more ornate than the King of Ferelden. From cave dwelling monsters that lack thought. It's beyond dumb.
It's twitch mechanics if you want realism because no RPG mechanic can simluate the fluidity of life. So you wind up with lore breaking things like HP.

It's the exact opposite of twitch for realism, twitch gives us ninja rolls (which should end with your severed limbs being inserted into your orifices, it is that stupid an idea, spins, ditto, and other such bang flash wow inanity,) CHARACTER skill and player tactics, so queue up skills and let the rng run combat, with an improved method on the kotor approach, the only blow that connects is the last one parries, blocks, sidesteps, grapples all flowing from player decisions on tactics, if the character is skilled enough to pull them off. That would be pure awesome. Armoured combat is slightly different due to the massive resistance it grants. But the concept holds.
