One is sarcastic, one is missing the point intentionally or unintentionally, either way. I'll keep saying so until it haunts someone's dream.
The History of Orlais = gameplay. Not lore....Gottcha.

The power of blood magic was not properly reflected in the previous titles via the specializations.
Also, your companions, allies and outsiders might just turn to kill you instantly. No conversation needed.

Back before Bioware released DAO, didn't one of the doctors (can't remeber which one) mentioned that Blood magic was not evil or bad? Look at what happened after the doctor had left...lol.

Its not nessecarily bad. Its how you use it. You do run a high risk of getting posessed when messing around with it, though.

I find the lack of healing spells disturbing, to be honest. Healing is a common use for magic in the universe, to just take it out seems... pretty silly.
And kind of disappointing.
Yeah, yeah. "strategy and tactics." All fine and good. Except, healing could very well be used and tactics as well.
Healing is not the opposite of using tactics and strat to win a battle. To take out healing for the simple reason of making it more difficult...
To be honest, it feels like artificial difficulty.

As someone who was planning to roll a bloodmage qunari, thanks. I'm still a little sore, but atleast I get to be a necromancer I guess.

I think the changes suck. Instead of going back to what made DA:O great, they seem to have kept DA2 gameplay and combat animations and made even more changes. Ugh.
Not everyone thought every aspect of Origins was better than DA2.

Everything. I was hoping others would give specifics because I am ill equipped to do so. Part of this is also a learning tool for people who don't know all that was changed. I don't know if it will get that far, but I hope knowledge will be shared here as well.
Fine.
The changes from DAO or DA2 that I like are:
- The open world approach.
- Making our own weapons.
- The new boss system. (Limb targeting)
- Only one specialization allowed.
- CC looks the best.
- Tactical camera
- No HP recovery.
- Limited potions.
Dislike:
- 8 abilities only.
- Forced attributes.
- Weapon and Armor restriction. If I have the stats for it, let my rogue/mage use a long sword or wear heavy armor.
- Only 4 tree's for mages (Minus Spec). Way too low, IMO.
Other than those 4, game looks good so far.

I'm really happy that the console version has a tactical camera now. Playing without that in Origins and DA2 really made combat a chore.

I like the changes. It gives me something new to look forward to. I liked the changes to thermal clips and then the new weight mechanic as well. I'm not attached to a particular system so for me, a priori, new things are good things. Of course if I don't like something new I'll pester people about it (eg, Femhawke / Femquisitor girly doll prim and proper ladylike walking/running animations).
What I see with the attributes for example is: say coercion in DA:O requires 12 points in cunning. So in DA:O I put points in cunning until I reach 12 and then I pick the talent. In Inquisition, I directly pick the talent and the talent itself increases my cunning to 12. So really we're in the same place but it cost fewer clicks. I think that's nice.
I understand that people are upset when they think there are fewer build options. I was upset with ME3 because of the lack of neutral speech option. However whether we really have fewer options in terms of builds remains to be seen. If it's the case then they'll be vindicated. Wait and see.

Eh, don't like to speak for other people unless you know them well. Plus my various mental problems make me convinced I'm a lighthouse of truth in a sea of lies, and you're just confusing the issue.

Guess i'll start my 2 cents with the positive first:
1. Exploration. DAI, by all looks of it, is giving us a very large and diverse world to explore. I simply cannot stress enough just how important exploration is in a game for me. Outside of the plot, it is the promise of new areas, new landscapes, new "playgrounds" for me to explore that keeps me up at 4am and still wanting to push on in the Mass Effect series. Hell, this is true even in Call of Duty lol, with its promise of new environments and set pieces for each level. DAII's biggest failure truly seems a thing of the past.
2. Plot and Characters. People like to jump on BW's throat for following the "cliche chart", but is there truly that many narratives in video games that involve tracking down a mysterious agent of chaos, while simultaneously dealing with multiple power struggles that may all in fact be linked to our mysterious big bad? Can someone really say that the experiences of Mass Effect, Dragon Age Origins, Jade Empire, KOTOR, Baldur's Gate are too similar? Not so imo. Execution matters, and I think DAI will deliver.
I don't think that I have been more intrigued by any other cast of companions than the ones in DAI. Each of them comes with a rich background. It helps that most of the cast consists of adults with several years and experience under their belts instead of teenagers or young adults.
3. Graphics. That graphics CAN be a selling point for a Bioware game...i'll still trying to wrap my head around this fact. All i can say is job well done. Frostbite is awesome. System requirements are surprisingly low, which hopefully means good optimization for pc.
Now to the uglaay:
1. Diablo 3 everything. Seriously? Limited ability slots, no attribute distribution, health/damage asymmetry (not that Diablo 3 started this), tying all abilities to be a percentage of weapon damage, and some other stuff.
2. Combat doesn't look too hot right now. Animations are way too flashy, making the game look even more "busy" despite the supposedly slowed down pace. Still have doubts about the lack of healing. Gigantic human enemies because players are apparently too dumb to figure out who's the major threat in a group.
3. Mages are rekted. I believe this again ties into the 8-ability limit, which would require them to cut down on total number of spells.
4. Same equipment restriction from DAII.
5. Yup, combat isn't looking so hot right now.
tl;dr: Combat could be a dookie. Everything else is spectacular.
