Can you provide an exact quote where somebody "wanting the game to be difficult for everyone so that you can brag about your mad gaming skillz and feel superior in the company of others like yourself and separate from the plebs who play easier games"?

Or just stop using strawman argument. Thank you.

True. Nobody said that. She does have a point about the braggarts, though.

Wasn't it people assuming normal will be difficult when it's been said quite a few times that it's on par with DAO's normal

I guess so,it's hard to tell what people are arguing about originally in the first place sometimes.

I said "helpless" not "intelligence".  Its like the devs are holding the player's hand al through the game, in every aspect. "walk over there. Press that button. Talk to that man and ask him about this. Leave the room. Walk to the house on the other side of the street. Marker in your face to help you not to get lost". Stuff like that.

Having watched some of the youtubers that played the game recently, some of them could clearly benefit from such. :). Those things may seem like straightforward common sense to people that play RPG's frequently like you and me, but I've seen enough bad let's play videos on YouTube to know that some people benefit greatly from such tutorials. Not everyone has time to learn through trial and error.

Do you understand how it is retarded to compare Counter Strike and DAI? These are different genres!

while this is true. genres has little to do with how good a 7 year plays the game... I started gaming when I was 5. shooters. rpgs it don't matter.

and if it da: o anything it's not going to be hard.... annoying maybe but not hard.

Braggarts are a problem in any fandom not just gaming.I've seen some very obnoxious sports fans who never shut the hell up when their favorite team wins.

I only brag about bosses that are very very very very hard and have become a sort of joke with the fanbase. Bosses like Demi-Fiend in DDS, Lucifer in DeSU ect ARE bragable fights because they are optional fights that are very very very difficult that require extensive thinking, tactics and knowing how the game works. There is nothing wrong about bragging about challenging stuff like that.

We shall make a special difficulty setting just for you. It involves you not being able to use more than 1 potion in combat, no magic buffs, and all the party members will each get one toffee hammer to slay the enemies with. Incidentally, we will also have to apply a couple of clothespins unto your nipples during gameplay to ensure maximum punishment where there will be no forgiveness. Enjoy!

You either have to just let it roll off your back OR use 'ignore' feature on boards.

90 percent of the RPGs that were made when? I thought your whole problem was that all the games these days had markers and maps and stuff. There are still games being made that don't. And like I said, your toggle request goes in the bin along with the gay removal one, and the one for the chantry, etc.

Here's Gaiders reasoning for why toggles aren't as easy as you think-

http://dgaider.tumbl...toggle-solution

90 percent of the rpgs in the last 5 years don't have that forced spotlight, and the few who do have a toggle for it.

Markers ON maps and on the compass - a feature that defeats the exploration aspect of the game. A feature Bioware has said to be one of the drawpoints in this game.

So basically you are comparing something that simplifies games, with hatred towards certain sexualities. Bigotry, in fact. Wow...

Agreed, forced tutorials are annoying especially if they prevent you from advancing through the game.

Yeah because the toggle is the issue here...not what the toggle would do...But you would be in that same line, no? Since you said you want toggles for things in the game too. So that MUST mean you don't like gay people.

No, I just meant there's a line full of people with toggle requests. And yes, there are some things I don't like (gayness not actually among them), but I don't recall asking for toggles on them since it's never actually that easy. I'm not objecting to your right to complain, I just disagree with you and don't want developers spending resources on the feature you're requesting.

I don't put people on ignore unless they've been really obnoxiously rude assholes.I'm a live and let live kind of person like that.

In an ideal word where everything has a toggle, I'd agree

My "problem" isn't that they changed the healing system, my problem is that Barrier doesn't last very long. I mean, just take a look at the recently released gameplay videos, it's gone in like SECONDS.

Some of those youtubers have bigger problems than tutorials.

Or they could just add the tutorial to the main menu. Like even FPS games do.

Adding that feature would in no way remove anything from the game you wish to play. And no. Being able to remove a marker on a map is not difficult. Its just a small pic atop another pic.

Don't make me laugh. Of course nobody ever says such a thing explicitly. It's implicit in things like "Git gud or die trying". So, well, maybe that *was* a joke, I can't look into others' minds, but regulars on internet forums should be aware of the pitfalls of attempted online humor.

Also, there's of course nothing wrong with bragging about significant achievements. The difference lies in the attitude towards people of lesser skill.

You keep throwing out 90%. I'm gonna need some examples, since near as I can remember, most recent games have them.

And no, I'm merely using it as an example of people I can recall asking for a toggle who likewise won't be getting it. Gaider's article is addressed to ALL toggle requests, not just the one for gayness. Seriously, read the article. That's why I linked it.

At this point I'd rather them throw in a standard healing spell that either does minor healing or has a long cool down just to keep some people happy...
I'm looking forward to the dynamics of proventing damage rather than replenishing health, and from a lore persepective, isn't healing supposed to be one of the most taxing magics? Having it has a high level focus spell doesn't bother me in the slightest (and makes sense). Having a spirit healer in your party in DAO made most fights laughable (I'm looking at you Wynne).
