Ever considered there are people who like this change?

Yes.  Ever considered that I was not dismissing other people's opinions, if different?  Apparently not.

I don't know whether more people like that change as you seem to, or whether more people are like myself.  Time will tell.  What I was telling Bioware with my post was what I thought of their design decision about Healing.

Sorry if I sound harsh but...

When they announced no healing the first, and I mean the very first thought - that entered my head was:

"There are bound to be other gameplay mechanics to replace it"

I would think this was the obvious conclusion of anyone with a fraction of common sense and logical thought.

Yes, it is an obvious conclusion of anyone with a fraction of common sense and logical thought.  Tact and diplomacy apparently not required. My point is that I don't want a different mechanic to replace it.  I like Healing and don't want it gone from the current series.

Thanks for the info^^

If what you say is true, things were mostly the way I already thought they'd be. Though it was interesting to hear that you'll be able to stack temporary HP.

Btw, The Masked Empire was an interesting read, and definitely changed they way I look at the Dalish now^^

Now who's being melodramatic?  Do I take my video games a little too seriously?  Yes, maybe I do.  But melodrama?  Thanks for the insult.  I'm done here.

It was a bit over the top, but you can't really blame people like him for feeling this way. I mean, healing has been a playstyle that's been implemented since DA:O in both gameplay and the lore, and to have it just stripped away because they want to bring balance to a single player game where more options mean much more than "balance" feels like a kick to the nads for some people. Personally, I'm really looking forward to this change, but I do think that this "balance" wasn't implemented as well as it could have.

I wonder if they felt like we needed this change. Maybe they did it for themselves. Doesn't matter. It's done.

I do feel bad for people who actually looked forward to role playing as a healer. I LOVE be a warrior who wields a greatsword. I can only imagine if I was told just now that I can't do that.

I can't blame anyone for anything if we're talking gameplay or lore but I suppose that is how they feel. I'm getting sensitive when they dramatize it like it's the worst thing since the second world war. Ticks something in me.

The other thing is, what happens if I want a mageless party, you say you SHOULD be using one, but some might want to play without, it seems Bioware want to force a certain party build on us though.

You were going to have to bring a mage anyways. You need a mage to do things like rebuild bridges or activate mystic forges. You need warriors to bash through weak walls to find secret areas.

Look at it as constructive criticism of a product, and not a personal attack aimed at you. Might help a lot.

Morrigan called it.

Change is coming to the world. Many fear change and will fight it with every fiber of their being. But sometimes change is what they need most. Sometimes change is what sets them free.

Constructive criticism does not include dramatizing elements of your criticism.

I'll let you know when I feel personally attacked.

Dramatizing elements arn't personal attacks vs you either.

No... but dramatizing is still stupid.

I should stop before I derail this topic further, though.

Tbh I don't really care about the change cause my method of being OP like I wanted was to use broken builds on easy, I never needed healing. What bothers me about this is that we can't can't get all the Inquisition Perks, missing upgrades annoy me

Ah, so this no healing thing will not be an issue for someone like me then.

I would like for an in game explanation on the lore of healing however because, well this is an RPG game, there are players that are big on lore and roleplaying so a Codex or a dialogue on the evolution of healing magics should exist.

Another thing though :-What about rogues ? Mages have barrier, warriors have guard so I suppose rogues have stealth to reduce damage ? Or is there some other ability for rogues.

Rogues have an item that teleports the whole party away from danger + heals them abit in the process.

Not sure what you mean. Does the stats on the character affect how the Inquisition can get "upgraded"?

Something to consider:

You are no longer forced to have that mandatory healing slot in your team.

DA: O on NM mode: Wynne or player as healer = MANDATORY
DA:2 on NM mode: Anders or player as healer = MANDATORY

What if a player doesent want to be a healer and dont like Anders or Wynne? Or wants to replay the game trying different companions? What if healing was in the game and you yet again had to have either the player, Solas, Vivienne or Dorian on your team?

Further: If one mage has to be healer that means you need minimum 2 mage party if you want to be a DPS mage or have a DPS / CC mage in your group.

This change allows more freedom in party composition instead of forced choices. Healing in previous DA games heavily hamstrung your level of choice.

While that's all fine and dandy, Mr. Weekes, what about the fact that mages suddenly don't know how to cast healing spells anymore?

Inquisitor: I'm dying! Vivienne, Solas, Dorian! HALP!

Dorian: What's he want?

Vivienne: Why's he looking at us like that?

Solas: What does he think we are? Mages? Oh wait...

Most mages know healing spells. That's Dragon Age lore. Taking out healing is nifty from a game design standpoint, but you're completely disregarding with the lore when you do so. Are you honestly telling me that none of our three mages (possibly four, counting the Inquisitor) knows how to heal? Ha.

Inquisitor: My eyeballs...they're bleeding...

Suddenly a wild Anders appears: Here ya go. *waves staff*

Vivienne: The fu--???

Dorian: How did he do that incredible feat of wonders?

Solas: *Professor Quirrel voice* What is this magic?!

Not necessarily. As the first post proved. You can just spec your weapons and armours and potion slots differently.
