If I get Michonne-style pet zombies, I'll be a really happy necromancer. Anyway, it's one of the specs that interests me, although I'd like to see more of the knight-enchanter thingy.

Some gothic-emo-inquisitor might be a choice for me actually...though I am more concerned they'll actually provide us with wardrobes fit for a death-mage
Something elegant, black of course, maybe with a little purple. No generic cliched skull-jewelery or horns, but simple and yet conveying the message: "Do you not know death when you see it, old man?"
Hmm, or something totally different?...Silk? No, maybe velvet. Velvet is heavier, better to guard against the cold in Orlais. Dark red velvet, yes. With gold embroidery. It should be cut low in the front of course, we don't want to hide ourfeatures...

Don't much care about fashion let alone goth stuff. Practical necromancers club member. She summons tortured souls, but she's not one.

+1 for necromancy. I cant remember which ultima i started on, like 7 or 8 or something i think, but i have very fond memories of my first gaming experience with Necromancy.
Looking forward to seeing a good implementation of it from DA

I would be quite surprised if we didn't get a summonable minion.
Now, whether or not it will be able to do anything other than suck and die, that's the trick.
As Necro is the only summoner class in the game, I hope it has a variety of minions. Unnarmed corpses that can be summoned out of the ground or skeletons that can be re-animated from humanoid corpses that come equipped with whatever the corpse had, shades, wraiths, a terror demon (hey, terror is associated with death).
Do you guys think Bioware will talk more about the actual spells the necro will have before they release the game?

From Prima's strategic DAI description:
With the potion/healing nonsense, necromancer is looking better all the time. Having a few extra meat shields to distract enemies and absorb some punishment could be handy. Either enemies ignore your minions and they're free (persistent?) damage, or they attack them and they reduce potion consumption.
That and there's bound to be a way to vampirize health from your enemies as the necro.

Soooo, we have seen a little of what knight enchanter can do I am wondering what the necromancer's focus ability is going to be. I mean we deal with spirits and the dead lots of things they can do there.

Looks like the Ceremonail Mortalitasi Skull is a required item in order to learn the Necromancer spec.

If you can pause the 2nd video on the YouTube of the PC UI game play, when they are showing off recipes, it says that Necromancers learn their secrets from the whispers of the skull.

Ceremonial Mortalitasi skull
The Mortalitasi do not take on apprentices to teach their craft. At least not until after they passed on. A true necromancer creates a relic that will house the soul of another who is already dead. They must ensure that it is respectful, and that it pulses with power enough to demonstrate their serious intention-that will draw a Mortalitasi to teach them the final arts, whispered from the mouth of the polished skull.
I do have to say I am quite interested how people will react to a necromancer inquisitor now.

It goes so swell with the spirit tree. My inquisitor will be an awesome spirit medium, like Wynne or her son Rhys, but what element shall i use ????

Indeed who knows we may learn more interesting details about spirits. It also seems the Mortalitasi respect the dead greatly in some form.

Damn i love the spirit magic in inquisition. When i first read what mages are about in dragon age, id read they could summon gouts of flame, conjure localised storms and could summon spirits to heal.
And we're finally getting an equal representation of said magics.
Great job bioware

So im guessing the inquisitor will learn knight enchanter from a group of former circle mages.

Too bad entropy and creation didn't get the same treatment.
