I just think my Hawke was an immigrant who tried to attempt a new life, and got it ruined by psychopaths. All of my Hawkes actually. Not just one.

Don't kick em while they're down.

I think the only people who want to kill Hawke are people who don't even like Dragon Age. It's just some form of lashing out against DA2 (for the umpteenth time).

Majority maybe, but I do think there's some viability in playing Hawke as an A-Hole.

So what exactly are people killing hawke over? Considering we are having an end of the world crisis you would kill a potential ally who is a strong mage/warrior/rogue? What? I don't understand, does not matter if you like Hawke or not if they want to help I will let them.

The whole point of DA2 was that Hawke orchestrated none of the events like cass believed and they just well "happened"  I feel that Hawke was simply trying to make the best of a shitty situation all around.

Depends on how you played him though.

I don't care if one my hawke's is an ******* demons pouring out of the sky and I am going to care about his/her personality? Then throw the douche hawke at the demons to stem the tide.

To me it does not matter what he has done or how he acts plus he is a symbol he or she would be useful in the current situation considering they are also skilled in the combat art they preform.

Oh Aye, Strange times does beget strange bedfellows, Consider it like this it is kinda like Avernus in Warden's Keep. He did despicable things but to close the rift there you are for the moment allies.

Actually I am one that likes DA:II for certain reasons. I still have no problems with killing Hawke off.  I dont' actually want him/her in DA:I.  Hawke's time is done.  I have more trouble understanding those that seem to think more games should be based around Hawke. They really shouldn't.  DA is about the Age and the World of Thedas. It's going to have lots of different heroes in different places for different reasons. It's just that we've got a few of them here that we are experiencing that the reasons or locations may loosely overlap. Doesn't mean they are going to run into each other or be involved with each other and I'm of the opinion that if they do it doesn't have to be a nice meeting So I'd rather kill Hawke.
