You really need to calm down. I know it's terrible when someone has actually done something, but this is ignored in favor of spiting someone else. Gaspard is this and Gaspard is that arguments don't sit well with me when we already know Celene is terrible. 

I don't care about how Gaspard treats the elves. I don't care if Gaspard kills every elf in Orlais and feeds them to the peasants. The fact is, he hasn't done it himself, and you saying he would without the elves actively trying to kill him, as opposed to Celene doing what her constituents say means nothing.

I'm TRYING to address only the facts. Gaspard hoped Celene would do exactly what she did, thus my speculation (based on FACTS) that your example of Gaspard refusing to do the same is an improbable scenario.

I'm not sure if the writer intends to make Celene look like flawed person, but as the story on TME progress she becomes more selfish and callous while becoming less smart and in certain situation she looks downright stupid. I thought she suppose to be a shrewd politician and master of the game, but since she's failing constantly in the novel. I doubt she is a competent ruler. Still...I wish we had third option instead of force to pick these two, but I'm still with team Gaspard all the way, and at least the man has a backbone.

I still think he did but he just has to pin false flag and blame the Grey Warden for Cailan's death. I'm surprised how Loghain didn't want to see Cailan's corpse hang out or fed to the wolves, even though he never like him.

Yeah, I ended up being a bit disappointed in her competence after the mysterious murmurings of her cunning and shrewdness in DA2 and other media. She starts off seeming pretty smart but soon you realize she's getting conned like an amateur. Embarrassing, really. I don't know how she even believes she's worthy of the throne at the end when she's trying to recoup her losses.
