Did she really wear that to a battle? This kinda shite is why I chose Gaspard.
Empress Celene... vile traitor OR savior of Orlais?

And Gaspard is the only noble that shows up to a ball, where people are supposed to dance and stuff, in full plate armor. I blame Bioware for being to lazy to make a second model for the two of them.

She is not in the battle.
Because she can't fight worth ****, another reason to make her disappear.

Do you honestly, genuinely, look at the history of the world and think to yourself "Yes, love is what gains the upper hand, not war."
I mean, seriously?
Have to agree with you, there.
You good sir need to get your eyes checked.
The orlaisian soldiers do show up in the arbor wilds.
Note How Empress Celene (and also Emperor Gaspad I suppose) personally shows up in the arbor wilds. You might also see the Orlaisian soldier that hangs out with one of your INquisition soldiers in the back. And there are quite some more of them in other places.
Wat...she or brialia never appeared in my game...Where they cut from last gen?

He planned on getting very drunk and becoming Emperor.
Not dancing.

Seeing thedas can't go 10 years without some form of apocalypse I think a war leader is exactly what it's most.
Yeaah...
Nah.
Conquests take years.
Divide lands.
Collapse economies.
Etc...
I'm sure there are plenty of generals as competent and wise as Gaspard is.
No need to have a "War Leader" at all.
Especially since you have terrible stuff happening every ten years.
Lands need to be stable, yo'

According to the books she's a'ight.

Just shows his inaptitude in the game. Getting very drunk? Most likely vomiting in his armor in the process? Not dancing o the night of his coronation? The orlaisian nobles will be gossiping about this for months and use it to weaken his position.
But honestly I really think it's just Bioware not wanting to make two different models.

I don't know I pretty much just ran over her when I left the camp. She is pretty hard to miss. Though it does seem weird that she wouldn't be there on last gen. If I remember correctly you can even talk with her.

In the book, she attempts to finish off an unarmed, impaled, and crippled Gaspard but gets humiliated. She sucks at combat.

o.o she's about like 90% of the world in that regard.

I reloaded a save, and she is defiantly not there.

I'm on PS3, I reconciled Celene and Briala, and definitely saw Celene talking with Josephine. Did you see Josephine?

Perhaps 90% of the world can't fight worth ****, however, my original point that she sucks at combat remains.

Except she doesn't suck in combat. Most alienage elves suck in combat. Random peasants in the hinterlands suck in combat. Regular undead suck in combat. Your companions suck in combat if you don't give them any weapons or armor. Celene does not suck in combat. Of course she is definitely not on Gaspards or Michaels level and of course nowhere close to the level of our ridiciously overpowered Protagonists but shes a rather decent fighter (not great but decent). She held herself angainst demons and Varterrals and other things along with everybody else in the book.

Well after playing DA 2 again I don't know now. The whole her dealing with the Tal Vashoth to gain full information on the qunari to potentially kill the whole entire group rumor seems to not be a rumor but be the truth especially after realizing that she was interested in another woman but kept that away from the general public. According to DA 2 Orlias is right now in conflict with the Qun but not at war. Maybe having a far more honest politician may be for the best. But I am unsure about gaspard for this case. I think he would be happy to go to war against the Qunari to wipe them out even if you are one.

He'd also happily go to war with Ferelden (unless you do the wartable quest to make him make peace with Ferelden) and/or Nevarra. Or prepare for a potential war with Tevinter.

Celene, started the war. Gaspard offers a chance to not start one celene started because her Elf lover she clearly doen't care for her Empire.

I fail to see how an Orlais weakened by the civil war and the breach is capable of invading a nation on the other side of thedas

Orlais couldn't defeat the imperium before when they were at full strength & kept calling exalted marches against them, they'd have even less chance now & would just weaken themselves more after getting smacked back to the south

Heh a amusing bit of fictional fiction that.
The Exalted marches only ceased because a Blight began.

&....? they still tried several times to defeat Tevinter before the interruption & got beat back each time & they're pretty much a fading empire now so i doubt anything would end differently if they attempted it again

And they had been invading Tevinter for eighty years by this point.
They would have never stopped.
An entire generation came and went entirely at war.
