As I said different people see different things and beliefs. I still believe that separation can solve the problem so people can get together to get over issues and heal each other to overcome issues before they could take that step of diversity, and history proves that people as a whole don't know how to get along when diversity comes around. The thing is we can make it with you or without you it works both ways.

 

Which is all well and fine, but believing segregation works doesn't make that necessarily true, since numerous examples prove otherwise.

 

Diversity is not the problem, because the "good old days" you are imagining does not exist. As long as people have been around, they have always formed groups and come into conflict with each other, it's something inherent in human nature as a species of predators. We form groups and fight over religion, territory, food, resources, who we want to sleep with and sometimes just because we're bored?

 

The Ancient Elves had slavery and oppression, it wasn't sunshine and rainbows simply because everyone was Elven.

 

Same with our world, Britain wasn't a utopia where no-one fought each other before the Romans landed, nor did the native populations of Northern and Southern America have any problem finding new and exciting ways to kill one another before Europeans landed. Neither did the discovery of new lands containing new groups of people who looked nothing like them, prevent the various Old World nations from continuing to wage brutal wars against each other and acting cruelly to those in their own nations, as they had always done .

 

Even in a scenario containing a remote village where everyone knows each other and the gene pool is seriously limited, are you honestly saying that the lack of diversity will prevent things like bar brawls from taking place?

 

Because the lack of diversity doesn't prevent people fighting over reasons that include spilling a drink, sleeping with another person's missus, daughter or sister, cheating while playing cards, pool or darts... or because someone keeps putting Enya on the jukebox?

 

People fight because it's what they do and it's a problem they must learn to overcome together.

Alternatively, you could make your own argument and cite the relevant information rather that ask someone to watch hours of documentary and research various (notoriouslly loose with facts) people and to try and identify the claims that you might be referring to. Whether I agree with those people or not, I still wouldn't know what, exactly, about them you are referring to.
 
Since that would be the basic standard of decency in any discussion, and since I suspect you would be the first to want to avoid any stereotype associated with 'lazy', I'll ask you again-
 
Why are wars worse now than they were in the previous 200 years? In what ways are they worse- frequency? Death tolls? Conduct of armies?

Sure, she doesn't have to justify her beliefs... but she'll look increasingly ridiculous every time she makes claims to history when she fails to actually demonstrate she understands it.

 

But I suppose white guys really do know better, so appeals Michael Moore, George Carlin, and Tim Wise, will have to suffice, no matter how questionable their reputations for facts or objectivity. At least Michelle Alexander provides the token WOC for that assortment.

Regardless, even we accept an American-centric viewpoint that presumes all 'non-Whites' are 'people of color', and thus erasing the experiences and distinctions of the many distinct ethnicities who don't subscribe to such an ethnocentric classification of race and identity in favor of a lazy generalization that denies them their distinct cultural experiences, what you quoted still applies as the identity of the 'minority' was irrelevant.

I was reminded of the episode of South Park wherein the boys discover that all of Earth's inhabitants were taken from other worlds for the purpose of a reality show. I was almost about to reference it until I remembered that all were supposedly taken from different worlds.

 

It was not an episode of the show that I remember finding much amusement in except for a few parts. That part was one of 'em.
