I think the problem would still apply since I see it more as being about Briala worrying that Celene would being willing to throw anybody under the carriage if it served to let her keep her throne. It does not matter if they are highborn or lowborn, human or elf.

I'd still choose her because she seems more incliend towards diplomacy and more skilled in integrating changes into society to lasting effect than forcing them to temporary effect.

To be perfectly fair, when you're in a job for life, losing your job most often means losing your life. And I think that Celene's regrets about not doing more for the elves are genuine.

But it just seems to me that they want to change my mind and bashing me down by insults, simply because my opinions offends people and I stand up with my beliefs. I'm not a "think alike and go with everybody else" type.

I mean, there's clearly some history here I'm not aware of, but suggesting that steelcan might be an irl murderer (based on a joke about killing elves or something? is that what's happening here?) is the exact opposite of what I meant by calm, reasoned arguments.

True. And with Solas controlling the eluvians now and probably siphoning off many of the elves who would join her rebellion, allying with Celene is really the only option that leaves her any power in the end, aside from the Briala-Gaspard ending. Which I'm not convinced is as sustainable for her, because the idea that he'd submit to her demands for a long time without being a real danger seems ridiculous.

I am reasoning with people they are the ones who are overreacting and being emotional. It seems that they're trying to convince me and I don't want to so they're pissed off I'm just a straight-to-the-point, direct, and an unapologetic type. And if they still pissed of that I still stick to my opinions and beliefs so be it.

your "reason" involves pseudoscience, discredited theories on racial origins, and blatant racist thought.

its not matter of belief or my feelings.  You sit there spouting this vile nonsense and then once called on it back down and claim you aren't trying to offend anyone and how you are just speaking your mind.

You twisting my words. (Why people always do that?)

My guess is it's either because you're incompetent and can't keep your positions straight...

Look at the architecture and their sculpture it means that it was theirs, but the humans robbed them out of it and claim it was theirs, that's just another whole concept of Manifest Destiny mentality. And they deserve to have a place of their own and no human will ever be welcomed to the elven community, the only thing they would be an alliance is to fight the darkspawn and that is it. They should be independent from human influence and the Chantry cannot set their missionaries there nor settle to convert their religious brainwashing upon the elves to worship an imaginary figure of a god. It's a win-win situation the humans won't have to be with elves and the elves won't have to be with humans and that is separation.

Of course I would fight against the Blight to save my people but I wouldn't come to the Orlesians aid. After all it was humans who started this mess anyways so screw them.

...or you're just a hypocrite.

I said out of my feelings about the loreI never even said that my words claim to be true.

Though this does bring up a third, non-mutually exclusive possibility.

What's the word for someone who deliberately speaks falsely or utters untruths knowingly?

Hissrad?

Unless it's his agenda to bring the elves into despair,

There is something really funny about the idea of a leader of a state whose agenda is "to bring despair".

Not secure favorable trade agreements, control resources, expand borders.

Just "bring the elves into despair."

Friendly reminder that the only leader of any sort who has expressed interest in purging an entire race of people, and is unabashedly racist, is Solas, an elf.

He has both privilege and power too, because he's a god.

And it certainly wasnt droves of those evil humans running off to help him accomplish his goals.

If they are not in the game or mentioned in the game why should I believe it?

Because it's the lore?

But I already know this is a pointless post because you're an obvious troll

Because Gaspard is a military minded men. He is the perfect ally for the times the Inquisitor finds him/herself in. He is also completely against the petty game, wich is a plus in my book. Not to mention the legitimate heir of the throne. Celene did stole it from him through her machinations.

Well, to be fair, I think stealing a throne through machinations might actually be legitimate in Orlais :P

Spoiler

Erm, now i understand comments in this thread more.  I'm confused about whether this is a troll now, or not, but I'll give you a genuine reply. To be clear, I'm not offended by your statements. I certainly disagree because you claim to have supported it with proven facts while supplying nothing that has any scientific rigor and thus as a framework to view conflict is problematic at best, but I'm not offended.

But even within Dragon Age, where such rigorous frameworks are not necessary because it's a fantasy world and the idea of the collective unconscious racial memory could exist, I don't think it supports your theory at all. Humans have "causes" to hate or oppress elves, they just aren't "good" ones. Most of them can boiled down to tribalism fueled by fear, desire for power, misunderstanding, or genuine conflict. Dragon Age is more concerned with ideas like how interpretations of history shape cultural attitudes/beliefs or how institutions can be necessary but that there is also an inherent corruptibility in hierarchical power structures, not about whatever narrative you've created about collective unconsciousness.

Inquisition goes out of its way to show that the elves at the height of their power could be quite monstrous and that their fall was partly or even mostly their own fault, It was only a fundamental change to the fabric of reality that tipped the pendulum over to humans being the dominate race and picking up the torch as oppressors. By showing that,  they posited that for any race, when the conditions arise for them to dominate, they will and will use whatever tools necessary to keep that power, which includes systemic oppression.  But that's not about racial memory, that's about  power and how prejudice becomes codified and accepted when it is useful to maintain a status quo. If racial memory existed in the world of Dragon Age, it certainly wouldn't be the driving factor for why elves are oppressed.

Not only pseudoscience in your corner, long discredited psychologists as well. Next you'll tell me about how Lamarck showed that white people get more aggressive with each generation.

Honestly, how you haven't earned a ban for such drivel is utterly incomprehensible
