Not only pseudoscience in your corner, long discredited psychologists as well. Next you'll tell me about how Lamarck showed that white people get more aggressive with each generation.

Honestly, how you haven't earned a ban for such drivel is utterly incomprehensible

And now you know what it's like to ask that question. How satisfying.

To be perfectly fair, when you're in a job for life, losing your job most often means losing your life. And I think that Celene's regrets about not doing more for the elves are genuine.

Oh sure, I can understand that but from the perspective of the person who has to trust Celene, I can see why they might worry because they fear she might use them to make an example of or ditch if things goes south.

It's basically an issue of trust is what I'm saying.

While I'm not supporting Phantom here, it'd be pretty sad if that rule only started being enforced with him.

An occupational hazard of dating Orlesian nobles, unfortunately. The existence of any decent ones seems purely hypothetical. I don't disagree with you, but I think that the story works out as told in DAI.

Personally, I consider Briala and Celene's romantic relationship to be unhealthy but I do not blame players of Inquisition for not knowing the details of the relationship because the quest does not convey it, in my opinion, and I do not see how it really could integrate that part in the quest smoothly.

I think it ties into the underdeveloped aspect of the civil war where it would have been better, I think, if we had quests prior to Winter Palace that allowed us to get to know Briala starting by intentionally or unintentionally making contact with her people and gaining trust with her through them until we eventually meet her still before the Winter Palace. That way, we could learn more about the major players.

I think it ties into that quite a lot of people do not seem to have read the forum rules and so do not know it is a reportable offense. I think the moderators can only keep up with so much and so things are missed. That and there seems to be exceptions to the site rules that can be difficult to figure out.

While not on race, I did see people degrading others for some of the other things mentioned in the rule. I'm not sure if they were banned or not, but in general I do think it's a rule that should be enforced.

I find it amusing that 7 is spouting his coococaine logic on a forum that is owned by the people he so hates. He admired he's a troll but stop feeding him he's like a gremlin

Seriously why do people keep responding to n7? His delusions are never going to change and all he does is get threads locked.

Yeah, I wasn't aware of that initially and wanted to be clear if there were communication issues going on or if it was unproductive, but now that I've been made aware it's the latter I agree.

I totally agree with all of this. I wonder if they initially planned to flesh out the civil war more in the regions but when they had to abandon their plans for more sophisticated ways of handling them, that got dropped a bit.

It definitely would have helped if WEWH had as much build up as the Grey Warden questline did.

Bah, who cares what Phantom says? Which White person here doesn't have enough thick skin to endure such attacks? I hear worse from my government everyday.

Agreed. I wonder what kind of missions would set that up best? Maybe actually more quests in Val Royeaux could have helped there, especially if there were missions that dealt with nobility, chevaliers, and city elves. Actually, I would have loved that, and I know a lot of people really wanted to have a proper city feeling in the game. I wonder if again thats because of the limitations they had for old gen consoles/some thing with the engine/etc, because I feel like that would probably be something they'd want to pursue if they had the resources.

I don't feel attacked, lmao. Mostly confused. The problem is how do you hold a dialogue with someone who holds completely incompatible views as yours and doesn't really engage by reacting to what you say, only repeating what they think? And how do you possibly stay discussing said views in the context of a videogame when they continue to bring it outside that sphere and putting the weight there? I don't think you can, so there's no point in talking about it.

I've never seriously called other races genetically inferior. (no the fictional inhabitants of entertainment media do NOT count)

From previous conversations, Phantom sees the situation between elves and humans in dragon age as a direct one to one analog of the relationship between non-whites and whites on the real world. He does not bother in distinguishing them.

Anyway, they could have had several interesting lead up missions in Orlais. The Exalted Plains could have been used to expand on Gaspard and Celene. A mission in Val Royaeux could have fleshed out the city elf situation, etc.

I was thinking that about the Exalted Plains at first, but then it actually has a lot of area stories between the Freemen of the Dales and the Dalish clan. This is in the context of "where would they have planned it if it was cut" though, not like "where should it be if it's included". But I suppose if the Freeman were actually people you could talk to in depth and not generic enemies more explained through codex/outsiders, they might have insights into both Celene and Gaspard, and it would be interesting if our main perceptions going in were negative ones of both of them.

If they had reduced the role of the Freemen and instead used the area as an opportunity to meet and deal with Gaspard (In person) and Celene's forces, it might have been interesting. Ideally there would have been a subplot regarding Briala and her use of the Eluvians to position city elves to benefit from and prolong the war.

I remember a write up, maybe from Dean?

That had the build up to the Ball mission taking place across Orlais, I can't remember the specifics but maybe she can come back and grace us with it.

Minimally, yes, I want it expanded and I would have like to see Gaspard on the battlefield.

I agree if anything we should have met them in the Exalted Plains with their forces, and personally I would've put the Freemen as Florianne's forces for Corypheus

It was awhile ago, and didn't focus on Briala.

I think what it really was was making the zone exploration a part of the core plot. Like, in order to get to Orlais for the meeting with the Chantry, you'd have to run across the zones that could justify getting there. Storm Coast to get to a ship, or down south and through the Dales to approach from the South.

There were elements of change, but nothing real big. I don't even remember if Briala with elvuians was even a suggestion.

My guess is it's either because you're incompetent and can't keep your positions straight...

...or you're just a hypocrite.

Though this does bring up a third, non-mutually exclusive possibility.

What's the word for someone who deliberately speaks falsely or utters untruths knowingly?

Hissrad?

OK I'm confused. How is it me being a hypocrite of me saying I will fight the darkspawn with humans and saying that no human should stay out if the elven community and affairs to keep the peace? You just don't like the things that I'm saying and that's OK, but you just upset that I'm not an apologetic person and it offends you that I'm saying things that doesn't suit you. If you don't like the things I said dude that's fine, if you want to look into it go find it for yourself.

I really don't understand the apparent fascination with getting Briala and Celene back together. It's pretty disturbing, really. It'd be like getting Marjolaine and Leliana back together.

I think the way they set it up is very sick, she killed the elves with no remorse and killed her parents. And they love each other and expecting to live happily ever after? What the hell BioWare??!
