But yeah, now that i know she is a KE, and since she doesn't teach you the spec, i kinda wonder how much will i have her in the party.
She doesn't teach you the spec? Do you have a link, please? ![]()

It's been stated multiple times that you don't learn specializations from party members.

I think they said that a quest teaches you the spec, or rather, someone from that quest. If i remember correctly, no companion teaches you the specs, but i don't think i can find a link now :x

Not really, especially the leather armor looks silly to me because leather armor does not even look like that. The protecting on arms and hands is okish. If it was only cloth with some gambeson under it sure or even some mail, like I said Sera doesn't seem like a archer to me, personally it is one of the worst designs they got.
Edit: Not even from the hobbitsSpoiler
Well, hopefully some of the other armor in the game will look better on her. I'm guessing her "theme" will be light chainmail/gambeson and other archer apparel. I had actually completely forgotten until now that companions' armor could actually be changed and would look different but keep their "style."
They said in the rapt Q&A that companion won't teach us the specs.
Okay, thanks all! This makes me feel a bit more hopeful.

That is my hope, thank the Maker for customization.

If I remember properly, the specializations are actually tied into the story. So it's gonna b pretty epic me thinks.
I wonder if you will be able to do the other specialization quests after you've done the one you want...
And I wonder if the "unlocks" carry over to subsequent playthroughs.

The problem with that is people "cheesed" the choices. People defiling the ashes then reloading to have reaver or selling conner to unlock blood mage and then reloading or doing the same thing with avernus blood potion.
If people want those "dark" specs in DAI like reaver, assassin and necromancer I feel they should live by the choice.
Whatever form they take, I hope we get access to them kind of early and it's clear what we'll be learning from each of them... I don't want to spend half the game as a normal mage, but now that I'm thinking about it, it's best that I get used to that idea. There's no telling how many hours it will take to find one of these quests, and even then it would have to be the KE-related one...

Yeah I assume we will encounter the specializations early in the game. Well I hope we can don't really fancy waiting half way into the game to pick up necromancer considering when you pick a spec you are stuck with it.

And that is why I shall be sitting with one "where is the necromancer trainer?" tab open. ![]()

I was thinking about buying the game guide, will be the first time but since the game is huge it is gonna to help for the day one buy.

I'm just the opposite... I don't really mind spending hours not knowing what's going on. In fact, that's part of the fun! I cannot imagine playing Skyrim, for example, and having all of the mystery ruined by having a guide book handy... but on the other hand, I realize that not everyone hates spoilers or likes wandering aimlessly. For me, however, this extends the life of a game...
Although I will admit that I will be slightly annoyed if I make it through 90% of the game without figuring out how to learn a spec... xD

I am also the same but I now have my time more limited, adult life does that to you lol I am probably gonna to use it only for things like specs and during blocks on side quests.
It depends. If the KE is about pushing the mage into melee, I will likely pass as I prefer a commander's and spell-caster's position at distance. But if the KE allows for this; to remain an armored caster, then it may be my first Mage Specialization.
Probably, the only spoiler i will ask for, is : "Where do i learn to be a KE, and how i won't miss it" ![]()

That, and knowing how long i can keep the blade out are the only things i really want to know. Particularly the duration. I've said it many times before, i need to know before i go mage. ![]()

This and hoping for console codes so i can play what I want, how i want, from the word go.... ![]()

You might not go Mage?
I THOUGHT THIS WAS AMERIC
GO MAGE OR GO HOME
If devs were able to stay front line all the time, i'm sure the duration will be good enough ![]()
I hate the fact that KE is tied to the Chantry becuase now I cannot play play Dalish Elf mage with it cause it wouldn't make sense for her, considering that she is pro-elf and anti chantry for what they have done to her people.
Why did they have to tie this spec to the Chantry religion? Now it really only makes sense for humans to play as KE.
