I'm hoping the crafting isn't too hard and complicated and I'm not sacrificing too much to simply look okies

Well it won't really be a sacrifice if it's to make something important to you, is it?  I'm pretty excited for the crafting system specifically for things like this.  One of the devs made a joke on twitter about making things with polka dots, which tells me we'll be able to customize the colors quite a bit.

Trying so hard to find good examples to post :(

Is so disheartening, everything I find with feminine flair is revealing or has boob cups, both which is totally unnecessary and my problem...  Few things breach the gap.

Wish I knew what people were doing when they found pics soooo close...  wish they were posting here :(

I really liked the armor from Alice in Wonderland.  It's simple plate armor, but the small details make it look very pretty and delicate.  The chainmail skirt was a nice touch.

There have been some good armor designs shown in this game and I am not too worried about it. If I were to choose my ideal look, I personally loved some of the female armor in Witcher 2.

Here's another shot of Alice's armor:

That made me think of Kristen Stewart's armor from Snow White and the Huntsman.

I thought she really rocked it, and it's very practical, but it's a bit on the plain side for this thread:

I always liked that armor actually, is very pretty.  Is as close as you're going to get with armor that avoids color, which it does, yet pulls off feminine quite nicely if in a very subtle way.

In snow whites case is the girl not the armor that's doing it.

Is like a lot of women looking great in armor but a lot, really only work because it's a pretty girl with long flowing hair.  Long flowing hair is not an option.  One thing I've always said is, either more feminine armor or long flowing hair would work, but getting neither makes the girly look impossible.  Since hair seems impossible, am going for finding it in the armor.

When i play a FANTASY game i want something cool to look at and not a 1:1 copy from the real world. Games like TERA/Blade&Soul might over do it a bit but why not?

I rather have a sexy looking armor with some flow in it than a tincan with arms and legs wobble over the battlefield.

It depends, if that sacrifice still results in not looking nice for 90% of the game and taking 100 hours of game play to get there, is not worth it.  I have no desire to not enjoy myself for hours upon hours of multiple play through for ten minutes of release at the end.

It is for Silvan elves, so they have some close motifs ;)

I did a google search for "historical womens armor". It gets a lot of plain, practical stuff of course, but I did find some other, less plain things in that search when I dug down a bit farther:

i4h3li.jpgFemale+Knight.jpg

I like the red ropes and the cameo on that one.

Female_Seraph_Guard.jpg

This one is still pretty practical, but it's softened up a bit by having the tunic OVER the armor, which is a pretty historically common thing anyway and would be an easy way to give the option for a wide variety of looks depending on the fabric type, color, and design.

I really like the first, but a lot of people seem to hate the long skirt :(

The third is good too if I can color the tunic it my own way

I think the long skirt is hard to animate? but maybe if they split it in the front AND the back, then the two sides could move independently, more like the long coat tails that we've seen on some of the DAI mages so far.

And yeah, re the tunic, definitely! I think it'd be pretty awesome if there was more fabric involved in some of the heavy armor outfits and that you could dye or craft it to be whatever colors you wanted. That'd be rad.

I think this is very feminine while still looking mostly practical:

2yuhzzt.jpg

The only detail I'd change is extending the breastplate down to cover the abdomen. But other than that, she's covered by a plate and what looks to be either padded leather or a gambeson. Having a female character fully armored up doesn't necessarily mean armor that doesn't look feminine.

Naw I mean a lot of people complain it can catch, is a hindrance, in unrealistic, ect.  Which I why I simply advocate making the shorter armor skirts more feminine.

Meh, if that's a hindrance, then this is too:

I would thought that feminine armor could be idented with gems... Surely i want some for my dwarven girl inquisitor or maybe the male qunari one, if i do one that convinces me fully (just to romance Dorian with, oh and yes Qunari male is passive)

Sure, gems can be good.  I just find them a bit gaudy myself, but I cannot argue it does not fit the theme.

I think your companions being their own people with their own style and ways of self identifying can dress themselves.

Now designing your own casual outfits I can get behind.

There's little I dislike more then having game designers dress my character like a mother babying her child before heading to school.

Give me some options in different styles at least to identify my own character please and thank you.
