They're all good, but you could rank them in terms of how hard they are to play well. The Destroyer, Paladin, and Demolisher are really easy to play. The Shadow, Fury, and Slayer much less so. The Slayer is probably the hardest to play well, but then is also just about the most awesome when played well (and on host).

but his coalesced modding power is so good...

 

i usually build him 66660 (fitness is a crutch) and for his coalesced.bin power I go 4a (immunity to sync kills) 5a (lowers enemy accuracy) and 6b (lowers enemy health)

For me,
Fury, Slayer, Paladin, Shadow, Demolisher, Destroyer. Better to worse.
If I wanna deal damage from weapons I'd rather go with Infiltrators rather than this dodgeless destroyer.

I like the demolisher and spamming arc grenade with Incind rounds. Honestly have to go with shadow. Just playing as an infiltrator is sick, but can't figure how to run her powers and outscore TC/snipe/reload cancel.

One has a ranged melee attack to spam through the wall on Firebase Giant, one thinks he is a Phantom (but isn't), and one has the stupidest looking melee attack I have ever seen, in any game

They are indeed all good. But on the other hand, it really depends on the player's preferences. 

 

I would have to agree with FasterThanFTL's ranking. Should I mainly focus on dealing damage, the Shadow (the Shadow Strike build) is somewhat worse than the rest of the N7's. But that definitely doesn't mean I dislike her, because in terms of liking it's Slayer>Fury>Shadow/Paladin>Destroyer>Demolisher. The Demolisher being the last because of her dependence on grenades and I prefer casters over gun/grenade classes.

And the first two characters: Well, I have simple gaming tastes and I like my phasing, wall jumping (sometimes trollishly lagging), "get in--- kill it--- get out" (OK, if back luck throw in "die", but of course that would only happen because of the lag...weather...light....cat....whatever else!!  ) Kai Leng/Kasumi clones.

I dunno about worst kits, but the kits I'm worst with are definitely the Shadow and Demogirl. I think I'm finally starting to get a handle on the Slayer.

Shadow Strike is a great power, and you want a melee mod on that. Most snipers are too heavy to really capitalize on bonus power, as well. Basically, there's so many other snipefiltrators, there's no reason to feel the need to do so here.

My reccomendation: Pistol with Melee Stunner and Power Magnifier. It wrecks. The only problem is cerberus, since the atlas is immune to shadow strike.

I don't have the Slayer and don't play Adepts, so for the kits I do have/play I'd have to go with Demolisher and Destroyer. Both are immensely powerful kits, however my manifest doesn't allow those kits to perform at their best. With the Paladin, his powers are very easy to use and it's not a difficult kit to learn. To play well however, is another story. It's a challenge for me to play the Paladin at a level where I'm not dying often on Silver. I'm a bit too reckless with trying to get in the enemies faces to cryo explode the lot of them, but it's fun so he's certainly my top for the N7 kits.

 

I'm really bad at playing the Shadow, but at least her kit isn't highly dependent on weapons. For the spec I have, her attacks rely on melee damage which can be boosted by attachments on guns. I spend lots of time eating dirt when playing her however, so that's why she's the second. The Demolisher would be third and Destroyer the last at fourth. I've got fond memories of wiping the floor of Geth with my Demolisher back in the days of my first Bronze solos. Nowadays, I rarely play the kit because I've taken to using heavy weapons on her, which doesn't help with the supply pylon recharge time. With the Destroyer, well... my spec is pretty terrible and I haven't changed it, so he gets the least amount of play time.
