I have been a playstation user for a long time but recently got a decent PC gaming setup.  ME3 on PS3 has been a lot of combat fun for me for past few years so I recently bought the PC version to compare.  The faster load times are awesome.

The stark contrast however is the keyboard/user interface on the PC version was done extremely half-a$$, made worse by the fact I am a lefty and need flexibility in kb layouts and/or ability to use a game controller.  Even after lots of hours I cannot get the nice fluid action on the PC like I get from a PS3 controller.  I understand this is because the PC version is a port and they did not bother putting any new effort into making that interface more usable, which is surprising because BioWare seems like a company that cares about their customers, with making a whole new free ending to ME3 after the fans expressed their displeasure with the first ending.

My question is, is this how BioWare games on PC are?  Should I expect a crappy user interface experience on Inquisition PC version and perhaps lean towards getting that for the console?

You can use a console controller on the PC.

Personally, I'd play DAI on the console. A lot of PC users are already a bit miffed by things like the six moves you can do during combat, etc.

Some PC users are calling DAI something like a "console port" or whatever.

I dunno. Plus there are some issues with knowing the specs etc. There are other issues floating around. Seems like PC folk have a lot of concerns. So if you have a console, I'd say just get it for that.

Since you have a gaming PC I would get it on PC because it will give you more options. Previous games didn't have controller support but DAI will offer controller support with it's own interface.

Basically, you can try keyboard and mouse and if it doesn't work for you plug in controller and go with that. With gaming PC you'll get better visuals as a bonus.

Also, some PC version info has been released recently

and also there will be new video of PC gameplay on Monday, but that will be keyboard and mouse since a lot of PC players asked for it. However, there is already PS4 gameplay video and it should be pretty much the same thing with controller on PC.

I have to disagree , I can play ME3 on the pc just as fluidly as on any console , so I don't see how the PC version of Me3 was gimped.

As for Da:I getting it on PC as well.

Generally I do like using the mouse vs joysticks and I can see getting better at it but the issues I don't like are:

(1) broken feature #1: there is no panning in power wheel/bar (bar on the PC).  I haven't played the PS3 version in a few months but I am sure when you open the power wheel, you can pan around and so assign a power from each team mate to hit a different enemy simultaneously

(2) broken feature #2: there is no way to cancel your own power should you click the wrong one on the power bar, unlike the PS3 wheel menu

(3) the one button does everything was a but awkward on the PS3 but I eventually got used to it and made it work for me.  Due to the ability to pan around much faster with the mouse, it seems to make using that button more difficult, I'm constantly accidentally crouching, flipping

(4) the galaxy map is torturous and when probing planets you have to constantly sweep the mouse side to side to get the planet to spin - kind of ridiculous they didn't just make that work with the directions

I feel like they could do a lot more but as to my main question, it sounds like they put more effort into the DAI port.

Thanks for those links, I think that sells me on the PC version.  I prefer keyboard/mouse if they work well in the game (lefty so I need flexible remapping).  However one disappointment of ME3 PC version is that the visuals were surprisingly NOT better than the PS3, and it lacked any advanced visual settings like you see with something like Skyrim PC version.

1 - Not 100% sure what your referring to.. but I have no issues using Powers.

2 - Another none-issue , for me at least. Very rarely did i miss use a power.

3 - Didn't have any issue with the one-button does all feature , used it just fine and with little to no issues.

4 - Galaxy map wasn't THAT bad.

Just different opinions / preferred Platform . In my case PC.

1&2 are missing options, not a preference diff.  Hopefully they don't leave any out with DAI.  Also talking about this in comparison to the PS3 experience, not saying someone can't play it with a KB and be happy about it, I've got about 100 hrs on the PC version and can manage well enough.  It's just not as good.

That's your opinion , I've played it on both consoles and I prefer it on PC.

When I have to pick between mouse and keyboard and a controller I would pick the mouse. I always find myself hitting targets more precisely with a mouse.
