Can we take a walk from the "Leliana is a lesbian" talk, because it comes very close to "Leliana is a corrected lesbian, by the Warden" talk. Leliana is bisexual. It has been confirmed, and further discussion is going to lead to a lot of people's triggers being pulled. Leliana is bisexual. /endrant

You took the words right out of my mouth!  :D I can't believe how some people feel the need to do that in spite of the confirmation.

I think a part of the problem lies in the fact that it's very difficult to be visible as bisexual. Even though they can go either way, people tend to assume they're straight or gay depending on the way they look or act. I know this because a friend of mine who identifies as bi, has had similar experiences irl.

She wouldn't be so bad if she didn't have that perma skowl on her face.....Smile why don't ya woman jeez.

Her name is Cassandra.

What's with men who are obsessed with telling women to smile?

Her JOB involves killing monsters, fighting blood mages, taking down dragons, and watching her companions be brutally killed. No one sits around bitching at Batman to smile more. I guess because Cassandra has ovaries, it's her duty to smile like a Stepford wife.

I think the idea is that the devs already explored the potentially romantic side of Leliana's character and they're done with it already.  They've said they're only bringing characters back who have story reasons for being there, and that the characters they're bringing back have further development potential.  The romance side of Leliana's character was thoroughly explored in DAO.  There's no need to see that side of her character again, ever.  Hopefully, the further character development they're going to explore this time around will give her a big, glaring flaw or two so she can stop being the queen of all Mary Sues.

Coincidentally I just read the wiki-page for her today and...yeah, it is stated there that Leliana will suffer from some stuff that might make her a lot less the Leliana we are used to know....which also seems to be kind of an explanation why Leliana might not be so much in romances during DAI...

Gotta say, i know why my Warden isn't around. Be pretty damn awkward to see the guy that chopped your head off. :D

On-topic: Honestly, she does the look the best to me this time around, but i can't stand Leliana. Understand that some people do, but you already had your chance at romancing her, it's not like her story has changed much since then i'd wager. Totally fine with her not being a LI.

Folks yearn for Leliana because she's more Barbie'd up in DAI. Let's be honest.

They have all these options on the keep. They couldn't do one where if you didn't romance leliana in origins you could here?

This thread is full of OT erasure of Leliana's bisexuality. :? Eewww, pls stahp. Having a preference does not make you less bi. If Leliana's been with more ladies, it doesn't negate her attraction to men, and it doesn't make her relationships with men less legitimate. That is not how bisexuality works.

If it had been the opposite - if Marjolaine had been a guy and Leliana talked about seducing bored Orlesian noblemen - it wouldn't make her feelings for women less genuine, so please stop acting like it works the other way.

"I...i don't understand. How can people prefer females yet still date males...brainfart"

Umm..nope.

Here is what I said:

Also, that turns male Warden into a really special snowflake. Please, no! I do think it is fair to say that she is slightly more into women than men, but she's bisexual and has probably had partners from both genders.

Leliana mentions exactly one ex in the game. I think it is quite a leap to go from that, to claiming that she is only into women except for the male Warden. Keep in mind also that one of the combos for the Pearl encounter with Isabela & Leliana can include Zevran.

In short to OP, you like Leliana, we get it. You like her because you know her, you know what the thrill having having a romance with the Bard could be like and you're eager to be proven right or wrong. Here's a tip. Open yourself up to trying something new. Cassandra may not be attractive to you, but she might be to one of your Inquisitors, same with Josephine, Blackwall, Cullen, Solas, Iron Bull, Sera or Dorian. TRY SOMETHING NEW. And don't forget that people look a way for a reason. These characters represent real people, and the proof to that is written on the lines of their faces, the scars, the makeup, even the build. These people look like themselves, and thank goodness for that because that is far better than the alternative where every character description includes 'beautiful' and 'svelte'.

Thank you for understanding. Something I do want to clarify though is that, I don't find the romance characters unattractive, except Sera who looks like a white Lil' Wayne. They just don't appeal to me, it's like when you see someone (in real life) who is attractive, but you don't want to go out with them because they can be a nasty person, or they look dirty or whatever. It's the same thing here. That's not to say I won't romance them, I will most likely try out all off them because, why not; it's there for me to play so I am going to play it.

You always make a character to be like you, whether it is your 1st character or your 101st character and that character would follow your morals, your ideas, and take on your emotions because it's a little you; and for me, that character would choose Leliana, not Dorian, not Iron Bull or Cassandra or Josephine or any off the others because they aren't my type. I mean come on, the one red-head that is prominent within this universe and they decide to take her out of the equation.

Maybe YOU would only choose Leliana, but also maybe Leliana is not interested in choosing YOU as well in this game? That's life...sometimes the person you desire won't return the feelings, not even show any kind of affection or much reaction to your advances, and you have to deal with this...also, she is a prominent red-head in the universe? So you'd prefer her to be in every game now on, and romance every new main-char that may come around? Leliana may have had a shady past, but I doubt she was such a huge ****...

Try to apply this to your Leliana-desire and have your Inquisitor look forward to a bright future with someone else, maybe it's not that bad?

Well... some play that way and it is their right.  I myself don't play self-inserts. For example, I personally don't like Anders (in DA 2) much, but couple of my Hawkes romanced him - because it made perfect sense for them. I also never thought Alistair or Zevran very attractive visually (not my type at all), but loved their romance arc nonetheless and enjoyed every minute of it.

So... to each its own, but "always" seems a bit of overstatement to me.

Are you saying that you can only possibly romance a redhead?  Because that's a pretty specific requirement.

Once again, you did have a chance to romance her.  You can go back and replay Origins any time you get a desire to romance her.

What's with the redhead thingy? I've never understood it because folks typically aren't attracted to *real* redheads - like freckled gingers. They're typically into your average white skinned Anglo Saxon with bottle-dyed hair.

I'm not saying that, I'm saying that she would be my choice, my preference. I'm also debating going back and playing through Origins again so yeah, I can do it, but Inquisition Leliana has ten years on top of her Origins counterpart. Ten years, that is a huge amount off time.

I very much enjoyed Alistairs romance, I thought it was very sweet especially the part where he gives you a flower and then he gets all flustered, but in order to do it, you have to play a female, and I am no female. "Always" yeah ok, I'll give you that, not everyone does and that's dependant on how they play the game, but a lot of people do so I chose to sum it up into "always". If this bothered you then I am sorry.
