Congrats, you don't mind the appearance of the companions, others do

Ypur lack of a problem with the companions doesn't mean people who do should shut up

People who "have a problem" shouldn't be douchenozzles about it, and if they're going to make ridiculous comments like "as a straight male gamer" or start making other hyperbolic comments, then they're going to be mocked. That's what happens when you express your views publicly.

Then mock away, gods know I don't have an issue with mocking and derision

But going around saying that all straight men need to stop complaining about a subjective view is worse than beating a dead horse

If a barrage of women frequented forums, social networks, and every other internet avenue, loudly criticizing the average (not ugly) characteristics of a specific companion and expected it to change because those characteristics don't mean the idealized standard of beauty that they've been spoonfed since........the beginning of time........ then YES I would be TOTALLY ok with those questions.

No, instead of that they flock to those places and talk about how sexy the male characters are and objectify them more than men have ever objectified the women, but thats ok because feels > reals

Also

>implying current standards of beauty have been around since the beginning of time

SJW pls

So address them as invidiuals rather than firing a broadside at all men.

So let me get this straight.....

I can't tell people to stop and critically *think* about the demographic they are calling ugly...

But you CAN dictate how I'm supposed to address the opposing demographic...?

I can't speak up on behalf of one demographic.
But you can speak up on behalf of the other.
Gotcha..

Funny, but true.

I bet that within 5 minutes of jumping into the Cullen or Dorian fan threads that you'd come across shirtless fanart. Not that I have a problem with that mind you, I just think the double standard is somewhat funny.

No one is calling all women ugly, there is no targeting of any demographic other than the pixels that compromise Cassandra

And yes, asking you to not generalize is in no way unreasonable

Ah thanks for clarifying the crowd I'm addressing by typing this as some kind of dismissive slur.

It's like a three letter dunce cap.

I already explained how she looks like a normal woman. You're ignoring that post.

And I already explained that I'm referring to every individual whom I've spied complaining of Cassandra's looks - each introduced as a straight male. You're ignoring that post.

She looks like a normal woman in your opinion

If I went around my college tomorrow and wrote down how many people looked like her, it'd be a short list

They do not speak for straight men, do not lump all straight men in the same category

She looks like a woman who's seen some ****, which is fine with me.

Anyway, I think the Soup Nazi should chime in on the OP's request.

Are you the real Amanda Palmer?

Joking aside I say go play DA:O, also there was a abnormal amount of topics and posts about Cassandra being ugly, so I would not be a hypocrite. Part of the demographic for Cassandra romance needs to get outside and do something productive. It is fine to dislike the design of certain characters, I sure do too but the amount of hate and bad mouth that Cassandra got, it is a symptom of something.

You're sitting here with your internet connection and computer, freely able to express your thoughts because you were able to get an education without being killed by some backwards tribal elder, and you have the gall to tell others they're privileged. You are doing literally nothing to forward the cause of social justice, you are just whining about discrimination suffered by fictional characters, who, if real, wouldnt give a damn anyways.

So yes, I use SJW as an insult, because you are an insult to the very idea of social justice.

A symptom of not liking how she looks in this game compared to DA2

I can certainly talk about how unappealing I find Sera or Vivienne as well

"Do not do this.
Do not do that.
Do not, don't, stop, shut up."

Lots of demanding behavior in here. Wreaks of privilege and entitlement, the very thing that fuels the insistence that Cass' "ugliness" be compensated for.

Your only defense is the weak accusation that I'm allegedly typecasting repressed straight men everywhere, around the world.

Yeah, because she looks like a fricking model. and very few women look like models.

I just don't understand the actual name for the slur. Social Justice Warrior sounds like the name of the main character's posse in anime. If people are going to insult me for being virulently pro-substantive equality, at least pick a name that doesn't make me sound like a badass.

There are few responses more worthless to someone pointing out prejudice than an accusation that they're not currently fixing systemic problems in the world world.

Saying "You are so privileged" from behind a computer screen rings as hollow as a Chantry collection plate in Darktown

No I mean being just straight nasty about it, I do find Sera unappealing too and I am her demographic when it comes to romance. I just do not go into her topic saying she has a man jaw and looks like a golira. There is a different in the way people say these things.
