Or that they want that style because they like it. Or it's easy to handle hair for them. Or or or or or. So many or's.
Exactly. There are too many "or's" for such a generalisation.

For me, the only thing that really bugs me about any of the companions' appearances is Cole's awful hat hair. That dent in his forehead!! Why?? Well, lucky for me, I'll be keeping a hat on him so I won't have to see it if I don't want to. Problem solved! ![]()
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of many of the design choices for the companions. Cole's hair just looks so ridiculous I want to laugh every time I see it, but I do like the character designs for Vivienne and Sera. It's a mixed-bag for me.
All the defensive butt hurt in this thread is great, though.

Glad you're enjoying it too. :] Are you LDS, bro?
Art design has never been a strong point of DA. Compared to Mass Effect, it's eons behind and Witcher is in another universe. And yes, I hate the look of the new characters even if I can appreciate Bioware's attempt at creating unusual, offbeat characters heavily rooted in their story roles.
This is why you should never eat the paste when you're in kindergarten.
lol this thread
Careful, buddy. I started off saying that and then it was just a slippery slope from there.

Thanks god for mods because those companies do look extremely hideous. And kinda fits into the femnazi agenda we see lately in gaming.

Care to give an example of this, "femnazi agenda?" Just for the sake of further thread argument.

You make me giggle, thank you. The lack of research as well as ignorance in your post is pretty impressive given it's length.
The Frostbite engine is one of the hardest to mod out there. There was a mod for BF3...that took over a year to do.
http://www.maximumpc...e_too_“complex”
"As of now, we are not going to make any modding tools, no," EA Senior VP Patrick Soderlund told GamerStar (viaGameSpy). "If you look at the Frostbite engine, and how complex it is, it's going to be very difficult for people to mod the game, because of the nature of the set up of levels, of the destruction and all those things… it's quite tricky. So we think it's going to be too big of a challenge for people to make a mod."
Your "feminazi" statement is really cute, by the way. Pro-tip to trying to insult a group: Be more creative next time. Seriously, if you're going to be insulting, at least have the decency to be good at it instead of being lazy and borrowing from a meme.
LMAO! Well played. Though I meant towards video games. I will admit this character could have been in command and conquer.
But I think people are mixing up strong female game characters with the death to all men kinda of feminists.
Save for Dorian and Cullen, the companions have some major uncanny valley going on. What's up with the artwork in the Dragon Age series? DA2 made Alistair ugly, and now DAI made Cassandra ugly. Just look at the Witcher 3 character models. I'm not saying that every companion needs to be a supermodel, but they should at least look human. They should also probably look better than the character models from the first Dragon Age game.
That's your opinion , and in my own . Completely wrong , Except for the DA2 Alistair was a bit lack-luster.
Cassandra tho is fantastic looking so are the rest.
As for the witcher 3.. yea lets not make Dragon age anything like the witcher , especially in character design. I get it , you clearly like the witcher more then how about you go play it then? I frankly cannot stand it and think its a flat out sub-par game in every aspect.
Yeah, I kind of agree for the most part. Let's go down the list here:
Blackwall:
![]()
Not bad. A potential romance for one of my female Inquisitors no doubt, kind of reminded me of a Duke Prosper from the Mark of the Assassin DLC.
Cassandra:
![]()
Oh Cassandra, your DA2 face will not be forgotten. *sigh* At least her personality stayed the same, still a fiery little thing. She might be fun to romance.
Cole:

I get it, he's basically Justice from the Awakening DLC. Which makes sense he looks like he belongs in a sick bed; luckily he is not romancable.
Dorian:
![]()
Sorry Dorian, but I don't role any homosexual characters. Got nothing against ya personally though.
Sera:
![]()
Same goes for you Sera, may you find better grassy fields to tread upon after the fight is over.
Iron Bull:
![]()
I'm really worried about you Mr. Bull. You got switched from Qunari female only, to any female race. I hope BioWare didn't do something silly like make you uninterested in sex, incapable of sex, or give you a giant sword to compensate for a smaller one.
Josephine:
![]()
Undoubtedly the most attractive female companion, I'm looking forward to having some fun with her. Might just run a full vanilla human male for her, that, or a gigantic male Qunari.
Cullen:
![]()
Why you got to be racist Cullen? I wanted to totally mess you up by making you romance a female Qunari, but then you got to go and pull a stunt like being elf or human only? *tisk tisk* Such a shame. Guess I'll still make you romance a mage though, heh.
Solas:
![]()
Bruce Willis you are not Solas, I've seen Vulcans more attractive then you. Know what though? You kind of remind me of Shinzon from StarTrek Nemesis.
Varric:

Varric, my man, my bro, why don't you let yourself open up a bit for a woman in your life? No need to play the wingman for forever, come on. *sigh*
Vivienne:

So why can't you be romancable? Eh? I look forward to hearing the explanation behind this one. I bet they pull a Samara from Mass Effect, 'duty before pleasure' and all that jazz. Oh well.
Of course, they aren't companions but Leliana and Morrigan show up.

Daaaaaamn Morrigan, you so fine. I knew one of my Wardens made a good choice when he picked you, you'll be MILF material in no time. And Leliana, I'm worried about you. I hear you get capture are tortured, sounds a lot like what happened to you in the Leliana's Song DLC. I'm sure you'll be fine though, your a strong girl, and you got a Warden who is near and dear to your heart in one of my play throughs.
Overall, if I could get use to abnormally long limbs in Fire Emblem: Awakening, I can get use to some unpleasant faces.
She would make an awesome Dragon Age character. Maybe a Red Templar? Her hair glows with red lyrium.
WARNING: Contains language. Of course it does though. You can tell that by looking at her face in the thumbnail.
Also, teehee at "retarded" being used as an insult and no one blinks about it, but using feminist as an adjective is taking things too far! Oh, this place. Never change.
I was going to point that one out, but I decided attacking their freedom of speech would put me down at their level after they attacked mine.

Just a quick fyi, Mr. Bull is fully romance-able by any Inquisitor, female OR male, and any race. ![]()

....we just passed the silly event horizon.
I say we nuke the entire thread from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.
Oh this thread, you so silly.
Why can't Miley Cyrus be a feminist? I mean, I personally loathe her and find her a bit ridiculous, but I don't see why she can't represent feminism.

I have to agree with the underlined not being right.
To some of the more hateful posters:

Have some class and realize that BioWare is going to do what they wish. They aren't making games for just you, or me. They are trying to make games good for everyone. In that sense of integrity, there is going to be things that you may not like. That's fine, but asking them to change the way the companions look based on old screenshots is not.
I was going to point that one out, but I decided attacking their freedom of speech would put me down at their level after they attacked mine.
I agree with some of your points in the thread. Not all, but you had some valid points here. But never forget how the internet works. You misspell one word and grammar nazis appear. Never think your opinion will, or choice in words, will not be attacked.
That aside, Cassandra's appearance just makes me think she has seen lots of gruesome battle time since we last saw her.
....we just passed the silly event horizon.

The video was promoting true gender equality. Does that offend you so much?
*snip*
There's a chance all of them got tweaked a bit for the final release. Cass did got tweaked a bit and you just used an old pic of hers.
