If you did a bit of research, you could have found that out yourself. The Frostbite 3 engine is not very mod-friendly, as mentioned various times in the past.

That is code speak for, we don't want anyone to mod our games so we can create DLC instead and make more money.

We have modders that have modded games without any mod tools at all. It is almost insulting to say some of the modders are not as good or clever as the developers. I mean get real...

Modding Qunari sclera, horns, hair, height would be choice. Can't wait to unleash one onto Thedas come Nov 18th. Glad they were added to DAI.

It would be nice to have a bear-skinned loincloth mod. I want to stride across the wilderness in style.

We used console commands during development.  I'm not aware of what it will take to enable them post-ship and suspect they'll be unsupported and so forth.

OMG

Was that a confirmation that console commands will be accessible!?!?!

THAT JUST MADE MY WHOLE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enabling it is one thing, but would it be truly feasible for someone outside of Bioware to figure out what all of the commands are as well as all the values for spells, talents, items, etc. in the game?

I would search forever.

Yeah.  But we just hope these great modders(programmers) like these type of games or else this is not happening.  The sad thing that there might be people out there that can create a mod tool out of the Frostbite engine if they wanted to but if they don't care for these type of games and engine then it's a lost cause.

Well, they need it properly disabled for MP

Since single player is totally separate than multiplayer, and since multiplayer will be on a server, allowing console commands in SP will not affect MP at all. They wouldn't even be available in MP since you'd likely need to edit an .ini file or something to enable them, and those files would have no bearing on MP servers.

not buying the bioware line.. they dont want modding because they want to be able to sell DLC.. IM OK WITH THAT.  there are plenty of other games out there with modding support. just be honest about your intentions.

The sorts of mods I use are unlikely to be offered as DLC. I tend to tweak core gameplay features.

But if they offered a silent protagonist DLC, I would pay $100 for it.

How the hell does this make sense? DA:O had modding tools and they released DLC. Fallout 3 and Skyrim had modding tools and had DLC. Mods being available won't decrease the sales of DLC for those interested in them.

I think "stuff packs" are the source of concern. Though nobody has openly voiced this concern that I know of so it's all just conjecture.

I don't see how modding could hamper the income they could have from DLC's. Has the modding scene in any way made Bethesda make less money of their DLC's? If anything it has helped sell more copies of Skyrim.

I pretty much have the same opinion, although Skyrim was a freak-of-nature game (I mean in sales and moddability)

The mods increased its market and its lifespan. BioWare's public statements suggest that they know mods can do this.

Mods can't hamper DLC sales when ~85% of the skyrim players play on consoles and thus can't mod the game...

Mods may enhance the PC experience, but there is litlle reason to cater to those who like modding the gameby give them those tools to do so, if the majority of sales are going to be on platforms that can't use said "feature"...

As a general rule, yes. But I question how many console sales figures for skyrim were actually of people who played it on the console. For example, I ended up purchasing skyrim on Xbox myself as well as PC, and yet I'm solely a PC gamer. The reason being is because I didn't have a good enough computer at the time of launch, so I went with console for a couple months--but played exclusively on PC for the next year and a half.
