I unzipped the download as it was and found this file lancerlot_ss_divine_v1_1.dazip in with the readme. I tried to open it as it was and it said windows couldn't open the file.

One of you should think about making a video on how to mod Origins (probably already one(s) but more is better!) for people like me who want to mod my game but is afraid to do so because it is pretty much a sure thing I will mess it up. This is why I do like NMM least for Skyrim and New Vegas. Cookies and cake for the one that does!

ZenMusic, you are not listening to me. I never said to try to open the DAZIP file. I told you to unzip the RAR or 7Zip or whatever, then I told you to take the DAZIP file inside and install it using DA Updater (or DA Modder). So drag and drop the Lancerlot DAZIP to your DA Updater (or open the DA Updater and locate the file via that. Again, I use DA Modder, not DA Updater), then close DA Updater, fire up your game, go to the DLC section in the menu, and make sure the mod is enabled. That's it.
Kenshen, if I only had a microphone, I would do just that. I currently can't afford to buy one, so maybe Luna or theskymoves can tackle it.
And I actually do manual installs for my Skyrim mods. I hate NMM.

Installation information for each mod should be present on the mod's description page or in its readme. Make sure that you read the installation instructions for each mod.
This this this. ---> ^^^^^
DAupdater does support drag-and-drop. I've also set my file preferences in Windows so that if I double-click on a dazip, it automagically opens DAupdater.

Don't feel bad. I had dialogue tweaks in "zip" form, used DAModder to install it. The ZIP file was in addIns, but never got installed via the dazip inside.
SO, always unzip zip and 7zip files into a desktop folder, THEN drag the dazip into DAModder or open it with daupdater.
Once you get the hang of it, your addins and override will look like the rest of ours, full to the brim ![]()

You can have mine I never use the mic it only brings me trouble. Anyways I would support any kind of video tutorial since that is about as close as I can get to have any of you actually come over and install these mods for me. The texture mods have been so tempting.

I have watched a few but there are always questions and it only takes one to stop me in my tracks. Now that I know there are modders here I can ask those questions I might be more brave. Worst thing is a fresh install which isn't so bad in DA:O than it was for ME3 that took forever.
Oh I see you changed your avatar it keeps throwing me for a loop. This one is cute but I liked the other better I was going to ask you who she was but never got around to it.

Very nice and you made it look so easy. Also for your first video you did really well I caught a little nerves at first but by the end you sounded like a pro. However I couldn't help but notice that you have that evil green button on the files page of your mods. I noticed some mild dislike for NMM so it surprised me to see it. Again thank you so much for doing this, I only wish there was a way I could repay the favor.

Yea, unfortunately when I uploaded those the option to remove that green button was glitchy and I never went back and took them off. I may have to do that lol
And thank you for the compliment ![]()

So I now have Version 1.6 of the Da Mod Manager, as none of them would open. I still can't seem to drag and drop stuff into the DaUpdater, but I at least have the Manager. None of the Mods seem to be showing up when I drop them in though?

ONLY dazip formatted mods can be installed via the DAUpdater and will be the only ones to show up in the list of Downloadable content. Override mods will not. Some mods (such as the RLs Fashion Bazaar that I used in the video for demo purposes) require you to runscript the items into game.

DAModder says it's stopped working as soon as I open it?

Unfortunately, I am at a loss on how to help you. All the programs you would use to install a dazip formatted mod you seem to not be able to use for one reason or another. The DAUpdater is usually the one I use out of all of them because it is a simple drag>drop>click, but you say you can't? Which makes no sense.
Only thing I can suggest is reinstalling the game, it may be that none of the programs can find DA:O to work properly.
Other than that, I am at a loss

OKay, do you go check in game in the downloadable content like I showed in the video? And as I previously stated some mods (like armor and weapons) require you to runscript the items into your inventory, they don't just appear. It all depends on what mods your trying to install. Some mods also require you to do a bit more to install, make sure your reading the modders instructions on HOW TO INSTALL on their description pages.
You do understand that ONLY dazip formatted mods can install with DAUpdater, and override formatted you have to drop into your override folder. And override formatted mods WILL NOT show up in downloadable content

If it has .override at the end, is it an override? All of them showup as a .Dazip when I extract them.

If it has a dazip extension, it's not an override. It's a dazip.
TMI section: There are two kind of 'override' mods.
One - the most common type - is a 'manual override'. They should be decompressed from whatever archive format they are packaged in (zip, rar, 7zip, etc) and installed as per the modder's intructions. They usually (but not always) need to be placed in the \My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override folder.
The second type of 'override' is a special package with, as you've noted, an '.override' extension. .Override mods require a certain proprietary installer, DAO-Modmanager. There are very few .override mods in release, most of which are packaged thusly to take advantage of that mod manager's unique configuration capability. (See NBaio, or some of the Hsli mods for examples.)
