I think it would be great to have a companion app to go with the game, or some sort of website companion that would allow us to read our collected codex entries outside of the game. I know I personally have a hard time taking a break from playing to read in-game, so it would be nice to be able to do it while I'm on the train or at work or something. The Mass Effect Datapad did something similar to this, or you could look at how the Destiny companion app does the grimoire cards.

Um no. Destiny tried this with their "grimoire cards" and it was an epic fail. Most people didn't even bother to read them and the entire thing was routinely mocked by gamers and reviewers alike. An in game codex that could ALSO be accessed via an external app, now... * that* would be something neat. But most people that want to read codex entries want to do it in game, as they find them.

There are the books, World of Thedas volume 2 comes out in April.

Well yeah, I don't mean exactly like the grimoire cards, and I'm not saying that I don't want to be able to read my codex entries in game at all, I'm just suggesting that the additional option of reading them externally would be nice.

Yeah, I'd love em to be stored in the DA Keep, especially if we could access them via certain characters as some entries are different per choices you made.

I would not like it to be part of the Keep. If a external option for the Codex is added I would prefer it to be an app (preferably not Apple exclusive either).
