Wasn't there an interview that said we could still romance companions even if they hate us?

Assuming that's what they meant by "you can have different types of romances". But they never said that companions won't end it on their own or that it will last as long as more healthy ones. Because they also said they got rid of rivalry system, so if you'll seriously p*ss them off - no romance for you.

Well I can do one of two things, change my PC's personality or break down and cry then move on!

You mean pick the wrong dialogue?

I'll just pick the right one on my next playthrough. That's what happened during my first ME and ME2 playthroughs.

Haha, I do this all the time with love interests in games.  However, I think whether a character likes you or not will depend on more than just conversations now.  So, maybe that exploit won't be working as well this time around.  >_>

Well we can usually get an idea of what a character will approve and disapprove of after a number of convos, so it still won't be so hard to pick what they would approve.

True enough.

I'm sure it's probably pretty easy to get on character's good side, but you might have to sacrifice your own decisions

Cannot wait for it to happen tbh; I despise easy romances in these games.

Never gonna happen, I'd just have my mage turn to blood magic and mind control them into loving me! Yay magic! -high five-

I'm sure he washed the blood off before offering the high five.

I haven't considered it, but I will in one of my playthroughs just to see what happens.

I'm not really interested in any of them as it is, so I don't care much either way

Lol, I have to admit - I will probably be saving before conversations with my LI, just in case. But it may also end up that I don't like my first choice LI as much as I thought I would. This happened in DAII when I thought I wanted to romance Anders first. I didn't like his character as much, so when he didn't like me too much either it didn't bother me. :D

I don't think they'll make it TOO hard to be successful, but if there's a way to fail I'll probably find it.

I suspect many of the members here will favor the "eviscerate those who spurn my character" option.

If I **** up a conversation though in my first play through, I won't reload. I'm picky about it being organic and legitimate to my first choices.

Just a word of warning to those who have said they will switch LI's. if memory serves me it takes more than one act to bring an LI  to bloom and I'm thinking it will take more than one act to upset a companion enough to walk. So if it all goes horribly wrong for you there may not be time for a plan B

Romance someone else? I'm guessing a romance counts as ended if the other person leaves the inquisition or dies or whatever, and you can start another one up. Or if they just don't like me but stay I can romance who does like my inquisitor instead?

Has anyone considered what they'll do if their planned LI or the companion(s) they're the most interested in simply don't like their Inquisitor?

I'm in the lovely position of having my preferred two LI be attracted to my planned inquisitors gender and race, cass and Josie, who also seem to be complete opposites. Chances are my inquisitor will appeal to at least one of them so I'm good.

I hope the romance occur BEFORE the point they will turn or leave on you, so that the possibility of tragic romance / breakup is there. Your actions should have consequences, including romance.

Unfortunately I dont think this is a possibility. Because people would be too outraged and reload and complain the forum to death. This due to a lot of people treating their love interest in DA games as objects and property and would rather reload to manipulate the circumstances to force someone to love their character instead of facing rejection.

If they disapprove of my actions constantly-- then I don't care if they leave. My LI doesn't have to agree with everything I do, but I can't stand constant nagging. I'll just be single and save the LI for a playthrough that meets the requirements a little better.

I don't expect there to be much chance of that, it's not hard to figure out how to make friends with characters in the DA games without cheats like gifts.  But if it does happen, I'll either try out my second-most wanted romance or finish the game on my lonesome and try to romance that character again in the future...unless it turns out I didn't like them, either.

I will not have this problem, I am Le Justice Mook, Cass will Adore me. I am also captain Sweet-heart, EVERYONE WILL LOVE ME... because i follow one simple rule.

"I AM DRIVING, THEREFORE I DECIDE HOW AND WHEN WE GET THERE, THAMOND, STAY WITH THE WOUNDED, PARTY, LETS GO BREAK S**T AT THIS VILLAGE, THAN WE SMITE SOME BASTARDS THAT ARE TAKING MY KEEP. GOOD PLAN!?"

"...its not really a plan"

"ITS AN AMAZING PLAN!, I THOUGHT SO TO, LETS ROLL BITCHES! THERE BE RED TEMPLARS NEED AN ASS KICKEN!"

(...the filter is killing me)
