He isn't pointing it at her, he's pointing it at the missive he just posted.

You have your perception of Sebstian, which attributes to him a lot more depth and characterization than I think the character possesses.  And you have a decided slant toward Anders, who was your LI.  I get it. You want to believe in the character you prefer so you head canon a lot of stuff that makes the antagonistic character less desirable.  When the truth is, Sebastian's biggest flaw is he's simply very boring.

As far as I'm concerned both are the bottom rung of a list of mostly (aside from Varric, and possibly Aveline) forgettable companions.  Anders is crazy and mentally unstable, but then so are most of the other companions anyway.  He's certainly not alone in that respect.

Doesn't matter. You're not suppose to point a loaded weapon anywhere near an individual. Mistakes can happen, and it could be fatal.

Anders is neither crazy nor mentally unstable. In fact hes the most stable of the bunch considering the dire situation Kirkwall at the time. The only fault that he has is taking action against corruption of the chantry, and the corrupted politicians in the city by allowing the Templar's to hold too much power over them.

Anders all the way. Even considering what he did

I didn't really see it as a choice between Sebastian and Anders. It was more "What do I do with this putz now that he's gone and screwed everything up?" In the end, he took a dirt nap. Screwing over Hawke, endangering Bethany, AND killing innocents? Yeah, that gets you a knife in the vitals.

Sebastian all the way. He might be a bit preachy, and he and Hawke may disagree on things, but Anders both killed civilians and exploited Hawke's trust in order to do so. Moreover, considering how many times someone's betrayal has hurt her and her family (Loghain and Bartrand come to mind), my Hawke was getting more than a little sick of losing everything thanks to someone screwing her over. Besides, Anders was mean to Merrill, so he deserves to die screaming for that alone.

Anders most of the time. Sebastian was a hypocrite. Didn't he break his vows or something like that in order to go back to Starkhaven just so he could wage war against Kirkwall over what Anders did? Sometimes I spare Anders simply because I need him. Unless you're a mage yourself or you have Bethany, then you have no healing without Anders >.< lol

Anders everytime...it just felt right, he seemed more willing than the other characters. I think him and femHawke are good together.

Romanced Sebastian once (friendship romance) and got that chaste marriage and was like "no" (not because of no sexy time, but I really dont believe in the chaste marriage crap) but I heard his rivalmance is much better so I might have to play one more time and rivalmance him before I completely write him off.

I'm sure somebody posted this, but anyway... My solution for this situation is to:

1. Side with Templars

2. Spare Anders

3. Let Sebastian left Hawke's group

4. Kill Anders in the Gallows

5. Profit

Sebastian is too pretty to ditch. I killed Anders in game, but in the Keep I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't....kinda disappointed there was no real outcome. A letter from Sebastian that's about it.

I dislike both of them, so it really depends what kind of playthrough I'm doing.

If I'm doing a hard or nightmare playthrough, usually I'm not playing for story, so I always spare Anders just so I can have him around for the last bosses as a healer.

If it's a story/my canon playthrough, I'll always kill Anders, because even as a mage sympathizer, I thought what he did was just despicable and couldn't let him get away with it. It's kinda like killing Loghain in DA:O for me. Keeping Sebastion is just a side thing I don't really care about, I never use him or romance him, so it doesn't matter.

Either way, I was disappointed on how little this choice mattered in DA:I. I really hoped Anders would have a cameo, or that we would get to see the repercussions of Sebastion invading Kirkwall. Instead, we had no sign of Anders outside of a few name drops, and the only thing we see of Sebastion's invasion is a war table mission and Varric joking about it to Cassandra.

One can assume that he either got taken over by Justice completely or Coryfishy snagged him with his Warden mind-******. That's what I proposed happens to him. Or he gets ambushed by red templars for being an apostate. The possibilities are endless. He's basically a target for everything.

I always kind of wondered why Sebastian randomly chose to not be in the Chantry that day.

Yeah especially after the quest with Leliana . I would have though he be stuck like Glue to the Divine or at least stay near instead of going out with Hawke and her apostates friends .

Too bad ya dont get the choice of Kill Sebastian or Anders  or Both...

I like Sebastian though...

And I kinda wish that you could make Anders tranquil as a punishment option. A fate worse than death according to him.

Sure he's weird but he's a hell of a lot better than Anders. He has good intentions and tries to help people.

I could argue Sebastian all day...

Sebastian.

one, I romanced him in 2 of my 4 playthroughs, and two.. I don't agree with Anders having blown up an entire Chantry filled with people just to get his point across. I want semi-mage freedom, but not at the cost of a lotta lives.

I've only spared Anders once, and that does make me a bit sad. I loved him in Awakening, but in 2 he.. sorta creeped me out just a tad.

Anders is the bigger liability. Sebastian is more reliable and not likely to go and slaughter innocents in a misguided bid to make a point.

It was choosing the lesser of two evils for me - Anders was a whiny ***** and Sebastian was so uptight he squeaked but I decided to off Anders because I'd been wanting to since Awakening.

It seems to have worked out in my favor, thus far, as Anders did not become the martyr he so wanted to be and I got to dismiss any aid for Seb's Kirkwall invasion via the war table. So.. two birds, one dagger in the back.

1- his family is murdered . Doesnt do squat but hire ya to kill for HIM .(yet in the end claim he can bring an army on ya head if ya let Anders Live)..

2- Worry about the Divine yet do NOTHING and go Adventuring , then Waaahhhhhhhhh grow a spine out of his ass all of sudden .

3- Ask YOU to decide Anders fate . when he is the one who want Vengeance...Anders walk free..just for that .

4- Preach and mean well , yet doesnt do squat to help anyone but pray and pray and pray .

1) Yes he asks you to HELP him with the murder, and when he finds out who it was it made things a lot more complicated. Not to mention if he did go and outright murder someone he would be going against his vows and the Reverred Mother wouldn't have let him back into the Chantry.

2) He did his best to look after the Mother, but it was her own fault for not leaving even after she had been warned. Not to mention Anders' attack took everyone by surprise.

3) I feel like this only happened because Sebastian was DLC. they couldn't have gone and remade the whole ending just because. Plus Anders was kind of Hawke's responsibility, and thus Hawke's choice. He was saying "well you can kill him and serve justice, but if you don't deal with this guy who just murdered a bunch of people i'm going to come back to bring justice"

4) As being a brother of the Chantry why wouldn't he pray...it's part of his religion.
