I'm hoping this won't actually be the case, but I'm a bit worried how much the effects of the previous games will carry over. (Especially as the Keep seems to allow to re-create lots of details of previous games, not just a the major decisions.)
Will we really experience a slightly different story if Sten wasn't recruited or if Harrowmont is elected king? (With the latter being a known isolationist, that would bound to make life for the Carta interesting, with underground resources drying up - or illegal trade picking up.) This could really save DA2 for me. - There, the outcome was fixed, no matter the choices leading up to it, but having been heavily pro-mage or pro-Templar would've had wider consequences, and DAI could show some of those.
That is, if it's not the overly action-packed game recent videos suggest. I understand that the location is effectively the middle of a civil war, but they make it appear as if you couldn't walk 2 minutes without tripping over a violent gang of some kind who'll attack you for no clear reason. I guess they are eager to show off tactical cam, etc. but it's still a bit disappointing on its own.
It did, and also DA2 with the override folder. It's the engine they used. Frostbite, so we're told, is difficult to mod and Bioware is unlikely to invest more time for the game to be mod friendly. It took them already considerable effort to adapt the engine to the type of games they create. Subsequent revenue will come from single player and multi-player DLC. That takes time to make, let alone work on modding tools that lack profitability.why not, it might help make the game more fun, DAO had modding
okay you did not answer the first question, why is there not a place for like a holster for your weapons, or a strap to hold it in place? why is it that even after the witcher 2 and elder scrolls 5, that you character still has weapons stuck to your back, it's ps4 and xbox one era, we're not in DAO era anymore. come on people I don't get it.
Yeah, i know what you mean. Make-up and design elements like those make the gaming experience far more deeper and pleasent. The details are always important. I was talking about this on the Alien Isolation forum a few days ago. Is easy to agree with you in these therms. But when you say we are in the ps4 and xb1 era like some sort of technological improvement, i can say that the two new "next gen" consoles are instead exactly the problem, a technological involution, at least on gaming side. Obviously is just my opinion, one of the many in the net about this topic.
My pc hardware for example, is middle/high, for sure far more higher then the ps4 and the xb1. Amd FX 8350, Radeon R9 290x 4 GB video ram, 8 GB system ram. If you compare the hardware, there is no match. Anyone know the fact that programming on a stable platform like a console, is a little easyer than the standard pc (A lot depend on the dev kits, but usually is simplier). Even with this little advantage, a pc like mine should be able to run without a problem every console's game on the market, for now and at least in the years to come. Instead, im sure, it will not be so. I wonder why...
That said, and to not go totally off topic, perfection don't exist. Most things you want to put in a game, the more you have to work and waste time. The more complex it becomes a game, the more it moves towards the possibility of bugs. Decisions. Yes. No. Simple.
Or maybe in BioWare are all pretty damn lazy...
Im sure this is not the case.
- Despite the Keep, the game still thinks you made different choices. (The dead Nathaniel bug, anyone?)
- The constant attempts to push this as a tactical masterpiece wind up overshadowing the story and making it more of a dungeon crawler with background plot.
- Everything is raining death from above.
- Mage outfits are ugly, and not in the endearing way.
- None of my favorite returning characters look right. (Example: I don't really like how they changed Varric's hair color so far.)
Check out the Cass video, Varric is shown and has his lighter hair color.
I highly doubt you need to worry about the keep, I don't see how they could screw that up. Since it was made to avoid bugs like that.
My main concern would be that there will be too much backtracking because of the new combat system. Don't want to spend most of my time heading back to camp to restock potions.

Well, look on this way, you have to go every day to the bathroom so.., being 4 members...
Forced morality.
I want to use the Inquisition for personal political and military power, closing the breach is simply a pragmatic choice because:
1) I dont want to rule the ashes of the world
2) It gives me credibility
3) People will fear me
My single biggest fear is that my character will in some way be forced into something he is not - an altruistic hero.
To put it as simple as I can; I want to roleplay Petyr Baelish:
Well not him exactly, but the Machiavellian personality archetype.
For me it has to be the abundance of wilderness with a lack of cities. This concerns me a lot.
I mean it can be fun, I've nothing against big open spaces and wilderness to explore, I love exploration. But I'm concerned that it is going to be overwhelming now that they've announced the lack of cities. I like a balance of built up areas and the wilderness, but trekking through the wild can, for me at the very least, get rather dull after a while. Mob of baddies here, mob of baddies there, I need more than that. In these sorts of games with large expanses of wilderness I like a change of pace and to go to a city and explore the culture and people, get a different sort of quests outside of kill this monster or collect that herb. I'm worried we might not get a lot of that sort of setting outside of Skyhold. Ok I'm rambling now and probably didn't make a lot of sense...but yeah there you go lol.
Hopefully though they did manage to find a balance of some sort with other types of built up areas. *fingers crossed*
DA2 really lowered the bar for me and my expectations, but I suppose I am afraid that the game may falter in it's ending. Dragon Age Origins had a great ending because the player could tailor it to their personal tastes, thus making the end of the journey all the more gratifying. Hopefully Inquisition will allow us to end our adventure with a happy ending, anything to avoid the morbid depression that I was told some people felt after ME3 (I don't know the details therein).
Another concern I have is that with so many voice actors involved with making the main character that new adventures revolving around our Inquisitor will not be feasible for future DLC. However, this is not an issue if the vanilla game is enjoyable enough to begin with.
If I had to choose one, it is I fear a disconnect from the protagonist. If there are scenes where Bioware assumes your character would do or be okay with doing and has it as a part of their character, the character isn't as relatable and thus the story is less gripping since there is no connection to the protagonist.
I fear how far down the Skyrim road they have gone. Wandering vast stretches of boring countryside, the "fun" of crafting, a focus on character progession on a skill sheet more than character development as a role.
Combat always scares me because it has never been done all that well in DA series and they seem to be fighting a waterbed where they push down one problem and cause another to crop up.
My only fear I have, is of my Qunari being chased and killed by the followers of the Qun. OR. They'll bran my sexy Bull, a Tal-vashoth, killing him. Grr ![]()
As for the game itself, no real big concerns. I didn't like the same house, dungeon looks, with different starting and exits in DA2. However, we're told there's absolutely non of that. All houses, caves, etc etc. All have their own looks.
Hoping Destiny doesn't happen all over again...
Hoping that story Is good and combat wasn't the focus.
A little the same, also worried the romances are all about sex.
why not, it might help make the game more fun, DAO had modding
Because EA corporate greed is going crazy when they are looking at modding community doing stuff for free.
My main concerns about the game:
1) "ME3-all-over-again-the-ending" fear syndrome (irrational, no treatment available)
2) Two voice selection per gender. It's money that should be spent elsewhere. I afraid that actual spoken content for Inquisitor is greatly reduced (less dialogue options, more autodialogues).
3) 8 abilities restriction for PC is bothering me. I can't imagine playing on nightmare without full set of poisons, bombs, items and abilities that I can access immediately. Of course now I just will save/reload and plan all my battles, but still.... concern.
About everything:
1) The internet will be restricted in my country. So I can't download the game and play it.
2) End of days. It can happen to anyone.
#4) Thanks Giving is a week after release. Jesus! I have to waste time at my in laws. Damn YOU Bioware!!!!!!
This is a legitimate concern, in my mind ![]()
My only Concern considering this game's original release date was back in late 2013 that when Nov. arrives we get informed that the game will be pushed back for a December release to squash a few bugs and give the game extra polish.
Otherwise I'm liking everything I've seen so far, just hope that the Rogue's ability's don't have them standing in 1 spot disabling an entire room of traps standing up.
