And some people odn't like short haired girls. Thats there thing. I know guys who wont even talk to girls with short hair, or small boobs or even big boobs. Its just peoples tastes has nothing to do with personality.

And don't kid yourselves, women are just as guilty of this.

Oh I'm perfectly aware of this. You didn't even need to tell me that.

But that's got nothing to do with my point. My point was that some people who commented on Cassandra's short hair being unfeminine came across as saying all short haired girls are unfeminine, which is completely and utterly untrue.

Girls with short hair are freaking hot as hell.  Extra point go to women who can pull off the pixie cut.  Not many can though.

You are officially my new hero! Thank you!

On topic:

Considering there are what? 2 male hetro romances. Of Cass and Josephine

Yep.

Sexual preferences are a combination of biochemistry and culture.

You cannot force or make someone be sexually attracted to something they are not. For example, I am a 5 foot 5 inch tall  Asian Indian man and I have been rejected multiple times, very quickly by women because I am too short or too dark or too hairy for their taste.

People have sexual preferences. You just accept that and move on with your life.

As such, it is perfectly fine for men to not like Cassandra because she has short hair or because she is violent or because she is rather old for a romance partner (you do not see many women in their late 30s or 40s being successful in long term dating and romance).

If they're cool with guys that prefer to keep their hair long, that's my new BBF (bioware best friend).

Can't tell you how often I'm yelled at to cut it all off...

Yeah, but I gave my input on that already lol. Ah well.

Back on topic:

We'll see if I like Cass more this time around, but I have a tough time imagining that, since I'm a big supporter of the mages.

I just realised how limited the straight male options are compared to female straight options. :/

Oh well, Josephine and Cass will have to do.

Lesbian women and gay men only have two too.
That being said so do straight female Dwarves and Qunari. You're not alone ^_^

EDIT: Also, if that sounded rude it wasn't supposed to be. It's after midnight over here and I only got two hours of sleep the night before so I'm a little off lol

I think I'm just a bit salty that I won't have another chance with Morrigan or Leliana this go around... They look soooo pretty with these updated graphical versions of themselves

That being said, it looks like I'll have to find out a bit more about Cass and Josephine since those are the only straight male options. Excited for my female runs because those are gonna be chalk full of different options!

Hopefully we get a DLC that will add more to it, but if not, I guess I'll have to settle with what they're giving us! I mean, they wouldn't make them if they see potential, right?

Dorian is definitely first, followed by Bull (with a male Inquisitor), and then Sera and Josephine (with a female Inquisitor), although I'm not sure which of the girls I'll go with first. After that (and obviously significantly in the future), I'd like to say I'd try to get through the straight romances too, but I'll probably won't be able to keep myself away from Dorian or Bull any longer judging on the sheer number of games I've done with Anders and Kaidan for DA2 and ME3.

I still don't understand that feeling, though- wanting to romance a love-interest from a previous game.

Like, my warden had a thing for Zevran, and my Hawke had Fenris. Same goes with the others- Anders, Alistair, and so on. But if any of them popped up again, taking up a character slot for what could have been a new love interest as an option, I'd probably be irritated. Even if they did look real good in the new engine, we've seen their relationships before and they'd be just as good as companions on their own as opposed to a rehashed option for a romance arc. I romanced Zevran's and Fenris's arses before. Why would I really want to do that again if there was a chance for something new? Their arcs are over and pretty much wrapped up, in my opinion.

Or if this is griping about the options you guys have now, well... I guess I have nothing to say to that other than "well, I'm sorry. Maybe in the next Dragon Age game, they'll have your kind of hot tamale. But not now in Inquisition".

You forgot about this perfect lady.

She's not 'Straight' but she is available for straight male Inquisitors.

Well no.  Honestly if I didn't know Cass was a woman I would think that pic was of a guy.

Jose has cheekbone extreme, to the point of being unrealistic.  Like someone was messing with the CC and tried to make the freakiest cheekbones possible.  No real interest in her even if she was straight, but at least she would be more feminine I assume.

Honestly I think the female designs in this game were some kind of inside joke on straight guys to be honest.  But whatever.

Josephine more feminine? Exactly how much more feminine do you want her to be? She's wearing jewelry, ruffles and tights. She looks like a Disney princess!

Yeah, that's why I would assume she's more feminine.  Wouldn't you?  Unless you are trying to say that Disney Princess's are not feminine, to which I'd have to disagree.

Yeah, I don't really understand this either.  Especially since we would be romancing them with brand new characters.  It's not like it would be a continuation of the previous romance.  It would feel a bit like a waste to me, since I've (the player) already gotten to know these characters once.  It just doesn't seem as interesting to me as getting to know a new LI.

Oh, I misunderstood you. I thought you meant that "if Josephine were straight, at least she would be more feminine", implying she wasn't already.

Well - my options will be Dorian or Iron Bull.

My initial attraction is to Bull.  Even though I don't like the idea that he's "a buff Zevran" - the concept that he drowns his PTSD in hedonism intrigues me.

Dorian is interesting, is certainly handsome, but if I have to hear him whine incessantly about the glory of Tevinter and how maybe someday he can return and create a civil rights movement for people who don't want to jump on the eugenics train - we might have issues.  There's so much more wrong with Tevinter than what Dorian is going through.  If he's singularly myopic to Tevinter's vast array of shortcomings - we'll have issues.

Yep.

With Mass Effect, it worked because you've got the same Shep and the usual set of characters throughout the three games. But with Dragon Age, different protagonist, different set of characters (mainly)... and with it comes a different set of romance arcs. I mean, I kind of get that some people were like "Well, I romanced Morrigan in the first game, I'm saving Leliana for later, haha!"... but those who have already romanced Leliana in the first game would practically have a double-up and think "wait, I thought you're keen on my Warden? Why're you open for a relationship now? Did something happen?". And it shoots their canonical Dragon Age universe down.

Like, I often joke about "no double-dipping in the goddamn love pool" but one too many complaints about it is getting tiresome.
