Yeah their lack of eyes is kinda strange, but I think it's just the art style of the Keep :P

I gotta ask, what everyone's interest in Cullen is? He was such a butthead in the first game and only sightly less so in the second one.

Simple answer is that everyone doesn't feel that way about him ^^

I'll try them all eventually. My first choice was going to be Varric but since he isn't available I'm not sure who my first choice will be, it'll probably Cullen or Solas.

As Finn said its the Keep's art style.

It goes back to the intro of DA:O.  During the opening sequence, it's the same style.  It's much easier to spot in DA2, since they used it for the art sequences in-between Acts.  ;)

Understatement.   :P

I really don't much care for any of the romance options in this one. DAO and ME2 are they only times there has been an in-game romance I liked. I just want a good game with a good story. I might try a couple of the romances out at some point, but my overwhelming feeling is "meh".

Ugh. Ever her abstract silhouette is scowly.

I am probably defaulting to Josephine on my first play-through. I have no interest in a romance that's half fist-fight.

While I am going to try them all eventually, however as to whom I will romance on my first playthrough, I am not sure.  I am leaning towards Josephine or Blackwall, so I await to see what they are like IG.

I will eventually have a character for all LIs (or at least, I aspire to do just that). I don't even know who my first playthrough will be, but here are my following pairings so far:

Katara Adaar (Qunari Female Knight Enchanter Mage)- Blackwall

Originally I was going to pair her with Dorian, but given Dorian's preference for men I opted for Cullen. Once Cullen put up those race gates, I settled for Blackwall. I can picture Katara being in her thirties and having a predilection for human men given her exposure to them. Blackwall, being older, seasoned and gruff, makes a relatively good fit for her.

Nika Cadash (Dwarf Female Assassin Rogue)- Sera

I've had this pairing for quite a while now, especially since Varric was confirmed NOT to be a love interest. Having a dwarf lady lead the Inquisition breaks down the archetypal hero barriers not just of human male warriors, but human/elven women. Additionally, having said dwarf romance an elf, both relative minorities in the DA universe (one declining, the other oppressed), and having that position of power completely turns the tables on the stereotypical fantasy hero cliche. Especially since often said non-human protagonist hooks up with a human (even Drizzt couldn't resist).

Aeron Lavellan (Male Elf Tempest Rogue)- Iron Bull

Aeron was originally created for Solas but now changed his sights to Iron Bull. I wouldn't mind pairing him with Dorian, but Dorian is reserved for another character (and I don't normally like repeating romances, especially given we have 8 options). I envisioned my first Inquisitor as an elven male rogue who prefers his own gender, so there you have it. Plus I'm rather intrigued by the elf-qunari weird pairing and how the Dalish and Qun would get on. We shall see.

Drystan/Maxwell Trevelyan (Male Human Necromancer Mage)- Dorian

Suits one of my DA universes where my M! Amell Warden romanced Morrigan and M! Mage Hawke romanced Anders. Both the Warden and Hawke were blood mages who chose darker paths, and with Dorian as a necromancer and Drystan likely to become one himself, it suits the 'dark, chaotic' Thedas theme. Plus I can imagine two mages from nobility would have much in common.

Calithildess Lavellan (Female Elf Rift Mage)- Solas or Cullen

A First to her Keeper romancing a fellow Elf enchanted with rare and lost magics, the perfect combination. I can see Calithildess encouraging Solas to remember where he came from, while Solas would teach her a few things about the outside world based on his experiences. I also want to do a female elf and Cullen, whether I achieve this with this character or another female elf remains to be seen.

Faren Cadash (Male Dwarf Templar Warrior)- Cassandra or Josephine

Mainly because I don't have Cass paired with anyone else. I don't dislike Cass at all, but she really isn't a priority on my list of romantic interests. I can envision Faren preferring human women due to his life as a surface dwarf. Either Cass' nobility and honor turn Faren into a more honorable guy or Faren could possibly echo my Lawful Good Dwarf Commoner Templar, having only been involved in the Carta just to survive, and now gets to show his true heroic side. This character also syncs quite well with Josie as well.

Other characters/pairings I have yet to do.

Bleh.

There's a difference between assertive and dominant and being austere and unpleasant. Girls who are confident are hot. Shrews you need to "tame" are not.

My crazy human necromancer gets Iron Bull

My shy and kind qunari rift mage gets Sera

My no-nonsense dwarven assassin or reaver gets Blackwall

My not-thought-out-yet elven tempest gets Solas

My not-thought-out-yet qunari champion gets Dorian

That's all I have set in stone so far, but I'll probably romance the rest eventually as well. :P

Everyone at some point.

Sera/Josephine

Dorian

Iron Bull

Cassandra

Blackwall

Cullen/Solas

That's the rough order, though I can't decide if Sera should be my first playthrough or second. Cullen and Solas are at the bottom since I want to romance them with elves (obviously for Solas), but I'm already planning on doing the same with Sera, Dorian and probably Cass, so I'll need some time off from them.

I Prefer Cass because she knows her place in the world, and wont accept anything less than utmost devotion, and is a little bit aggressive for the things she wants. she also does not care to look like a Wall flower, and I like that.

People are allowed to like whom they want for their own reasons. The topic of this thread is "who will you romance", not "why I dislike this character complete with offensive terms".

I'm looking through these plans, some of which are in so much detail, and I can't help but wonder just how certain some of you are on following that through. I mean, the game hasn't come out yet and I see these hopes and expectations and I think "do you have something to fall back on if the game's storyline blows that out of the water for you?" (Don't get me started on the 100 question character thread- whew!).

I mean, as far as I can hope for, I've only got in mind two playthroughs- one as an elven mage who'll have Dorian as his closest companion, and one with a male qunari warrior, possibly romancing the Iron Bull, but I want this playthrough to be as obnoxiously silly and camp as possible. Other than that, I don't know to the extent how much content is locked off from me if I play a certain character. No doubt, there's going to be a lot, but as far as the romances I'm interested goes, it's Dorian and Iron Bull as a gay male Inquisitor. I had my heart set on Blackwall as well, but now I'm just keen on my primary Inquisitor adopting him as, like, a father figure... but we'll see.

So yeah...

Lavellan (male, mage) with Dorian, most definitely.

Adaar (male, warrior) with Iron Bull, but uncertain if there will be a romance in this playthrough depending on how I take to Iron Bull as a character.

Cass... Cass... and probably Cass. Well, I eventually will romance Josephine just to see how well written her romance arc is... those two are sadly my only options since I never make female PCs and I'm not exactly into exploring my gay side in RPGs, either. I don't mean that in a offensive way, it's just not my cup of tea.
