Ooooo, good one!

Thank you.

From what I can tell of the CC so far, I should be able to even give him a bit of a salt-and-pepper look.  The PC I have in mind would be about Blackwall's age, so about 10 years older than I am.

Romance limitations are good cause it gives modders something else to work on.  *Eagerly awaits another free love mod*

And DA2 was the worst for this.  Anders, Fenris, Isabella…they could give a crap who you were. Fenris loving a mage?  Cmon, really?   So, I played through that game a couple of times and said…meh…who cares…it is the same game every time.

All the these characters cared about who you were. Even moreso than the Origins companions. The point of the rivalry/Friend system was to show that not every friendship is cut and dry. "Do something I hate and Imma kill you for it." which isn't true to life. Not saying the system was perfect but it was better than the one track mind of the origin companions. DA2 companions had their own logic that you couldn't just rack up coericion points and change their entire world view to match your own. Real people just aren't putty waiting to be controlled like that.  Anders still did his own thing, Isabella will ditch you if she doesn't like you, Varric will spread some lies either way. Also, as Ryzaki pointed out already. Fenris didn't hate mages. If you listen to his pov he states this many times.  The biggest issue I had with the DA2 system was that it was easy to exploit because it locked you in at friend or rivalry. I had no idea whose bright idea that was.  But then agin the origin's system was by far the easiest of all to exploit. Just buy a bunch of gifts and everyone loves you.

I'm going Qunari Warrior champion for Dorian. ^_^ I don't know if I'll ever want to play Templar... that might have to be another obstacle I cross eventually. XD

I hate to break it to you, but modding is very hard on the Frostbite engine.  EA also has no plans to release a toolkit:

http://gamerant.com/...-modding-tools/

“Because if you look at the Frostbite engine, and how complex it is, it’s going to be very difficult for people to mod the game, because of the nature of the set up of levels, of the destruction and all those things… it’s quite tricky. So we think it’s going to be too big of a challenge for people to make a mod.”

Even a few years later, there isn't much to be had for mods for the Frostbite engine.  There is a color saturation mod for BF3, that took about a year to do.  Now, while I feel that as the engine becomes more used, there could be mods for this and other FB games down the road.  That's probably going to be a couple of years though.

Sorry.  :(

That maybe...but trust me . Peoples will get around watever difficulty...after all . As time pass by..peoples get better , and what seem a challenge become easier . I do not approve of everything a modding community create and make . But I certainly approve of mods like these......and I sure like hell hope for some . For Icewind Dale..it took them years before they were able to..and they managed . No reason for this game not to be moddable .  ;)

As do I, but I was more warning folks not to expect it any time soon.  I'm sure that modders will find a way, as more games use the engine.  ;)

I have faith. I'm not holding my breath for it but I'm sure there'll be some sort of gender work around.

I know, but I figured I'd give folks a heads up coming from EA.  Rumors fly, so I was trying to mitigate them before they got out of hand.  Again.  :P

Modders will pull it off eventually, but I really think that we shouldn't hold our breath for now.

This is going to sound crazy, but I need a little reassurance it's okay not to squee over Cullen. Every tttime I see virtual squeeing or dev comments, I wonder if there's something wrong with me.

Okay, I'm a modder. Let's just say that things are not so easily done as they may seem, especially without a toolset or even tools in general for an engine. Frostbite is additionally said to be particularly hard to mod. Don't be surprised if the extent of modding goes little beyond save file editing and cheats, if that.

It's ok to not like popular things.

Cullen is the last thing I would squee over.

i wouldnt be suprised if EA puts a "safety measure" for mods... do it and your game works like atari 2000

Don't worry I don't like Liara, Garrus ain't my best friend as he's more of a brown noser, Varric is just okay, and Alistair is annoying after a while. So I would say it's fine not to like popular characters. I'll probably not like the companions I'm "supposed" to like in DA:I too.

Remind me of lesbian ME3 Ashley who has a nose fetish. I love to have a free love mod, but it's not gonna be easy. I think the best they could do is to remove the gender check.

For multiplayer. For singleplayer, perhaps not.

Such a thing would probably just result in the Inquisitor having the opposite gender voice or being silent, sadly. If the game doesn't crash or something.

It's funny how people that see romance limitations as a good thing are mostly people who replay the game a 100 times with all gender/race/class combinations. And yeah, for you these limitations aren't limitations at all because you'll get around to playing the gender/race combo that can romance char X anyway.

But let me put this another way: How about if you made a Cousland female rogue before you knew anything about the game and Alistair would only romance elves... now this character and romance that sucked you into the game and was a great story experience for you, just isn't available to you at all and you wouldn't even knew it existed... doesn't sound so fun anymore right?

In a perfect world I would prefer the DA2 way in having all romances available. I don't much mind the limitations in DAI since they're there only for sexuality and because romance animations for all races are A LOT of work and resources (I'd rather have Cullen and Solas for some races at least than none at all). However that may greatly be because the limitation just doesn't affect me since I only play female humans and elves and so I get the romances I'm interested in. I imagine it must be much harder for a dwarf or gay PC player who had their heart set on Cullen.

I don't think limitations are a good thing or somehow better. They just are. And to someone who only likes playing a certain race or sexuality or only has time to play the game once it definitely isn't a good thing.

Only if it came with a free polar bear I could snuggle.

I don't find Leliana that hot and strongly disagree with all those people screaming that she is the hottest character of DA:I.  I Didn't squee about her, was totally indifferent; I liked her for her personality in DAO, that's all.

Also unpopular opinion, Leliana was better with hazel / brown eyes in DA:I, her previous look was way hotter. Now she has blue eyes, and it isn't as good in my opinion.

* shrug *

Also, I never thought what's wrong with me, but what's wrong with the others lol.

Also Morrigan pleased thanks to her personality in DAO, not because of her look, unlike many guys.
