So now that I bit the bullet and bought this game legally, how many F words am I entitled to when it crashes sending me back 2 *f word* difficult battles back?
Because you know, why save after the battle is over and before the dialogue begins, that would be madness!
Also, just lie to me and have the decency to offer a *f word* error report, even if it doesn't *f word* go anywhere, it would be soothing to live under the impression that perhaps I sent that one millionth error *f word* report that was going to be ignored that day.
I'm so glad I bought this!

It's actually free on Origin right now so you could have got legitimate copy for free. I think you're entitled to a few f words for missing that...
DA:O is a little unstable so it's a good idea to quicksave after every battle (F5 is the default keybinding). If you do miss a quicksave and need to power through a couple of battles then why not turn the difficulty down? Easy is absurdly, well, easy, and you'll be back to where you were pretty quickly. If you do need to skip a cutscene then you can (ESC is the default keybinding).
DA:O isn't being updated any more (it's kind of old) so I'm not sure what good an error report would do. It was frequently patched back in the day.
(Also it's much, much more likely to crash if you're alt-tabbing so try avoiding that.)

Also, make sure that you download the last patch (1.5 I think) and install it. And the more sustained abilities you and your party have going during a big battle, the higher the chance of a crash.

It was that post crash rage that made me write this post in the first place.
That being said, can you take a wild guess why I checked this thread again?
Yup! Another really badly timed crash.
Crashed just as I was about to finish one of the bosses... the sloth demon... Just as I was about to finish him! And the battle went really well and although it did crash during the stage, now I was prepared and was quite proud of myself for saving every 2 steps, thinking that I can live with this, it's not that bad.
Smh...
