Hello Bioware Team!

I hope this is the right place for this question and I hope this forum hasn't been filled and ultimately annoyed with this question already (I couldn't find it):

I haven't uploaded any of my DA:O/DA2 savegames to my BSN account and although I realize I can re-do all my choices within the Keep, I would like to have my savegame uploaded to BSN  and then used in the Keep nonetheless because of a very small, but important reason: I've seen some footage on BiowareBase about Keep and I saw that you're not just uploading the choices, but also the name and, most importantly, the portrait of your DA:O/DA2 character. Without uploading my savegames to BSN and then syncing them with the Keep, the game won't be able to use my character portrait, so I wanted to ask if it was still possible to upload a DA:O/DA2 savegame to BSN? I already reinstalled DA:O once, replayed the end of the Witch Hunt, made some changes in the inventory and saved the game afterwards. However, nothing has been uploaded to BSN.  I haven't tried anything regarding DA2, because I didn't feel confident about it after the DA:O attempt failed. Can someone please help me with this?

Best regards

There is no save game uploading to BSN. It only sees achievements. The same applies to the Keep. Everyone will have to manually set their choices in the Keep no matter if you sync with BSN or not.

@dutch_gamer: My main concern are not the savegames, but the character portrait. I am not sure if that's even important for DA:I, but if it is, I'd like my actual DA:O character to be in DA:I.

@Florinnnn: I used the default male Hawke, so that shouldn't be a problem, what about the DA:O Warden, though? I doubt there is a face editor so you can customize the DA:O portrait that's being used.

Ok, I just found a Mike Laidlaw Tweet:

IF we were going to have one of your previous characters appear, we would absolutely give you a chance to change his or her look.

Thanks Mike, thread pretty much closed.

There is no appearance customization in the Keep. Hawke can be customized in the game.

The Warden will not show up in DAI, only Hawke will.

I can't say that I see the use in having the actual portrait of the Warden and Hawke in the Keep. It doesn't change anything in DAI and the amount of time spent in the Keep will be so short for it to really matter, for me, even with multiple world states.

Anyway, according to the Keep twitter BSN has been disabled for now while they work on fixing it.

Yeah, I was thinking of possible pictures hanging on walls or something like that, but the biggest concern was obviously the characters appearing without me customizing them. Both you and Mike Laidlaw cleared that up for me. Thanks!

So your problem is that you can't get your games shown in the BSN? Or does your games show but characters don't?

It can be pretty confusing and take time, I used couple days to get them there, I started without any games and characters in the BSN XD

First you need to synch your games. To do this you need to have your game on and logged in same origin account as you are logged in BSN and then synch on BSN.

It probaply won't automatically take your characters so while you are logged in you need to go into your saves and play your characters little. Unequip item they have, save, re-equip and save again (trick that helped me with my Hawkes). It can still take time but hopefully they will be shown there.

If you don't have some of your saves anymore and can't access your characters in the game, I can't help you out : / Maybe do new character with same name and similar look and then save them and get them into keep?

If you need more clarification you can find BioWare posts in the stickied Keep thread in the Scuttlebutt forum, click on the BioWare symbol of the thread and check, probably, the last page of BioWare posts in that thread.

Plus I think when it's fixed. All profiles will be in the keep instead

@Panda: Yeah, my problem is that I can't seem to be able to upload the character to BSN, the game is shown, not the profiles, though. I tried this 10 days ago, btw, so I am not sure if the current work being done around BSN was already an issue 10 days ago. I did however, do everything you suggested: I have all my savefiles, I loaded the last one, dropped an item, saved, equipped it back again, saved, then did the last dialogue in The Witch Hunt and that was it. I then left the main menu on for about 10-15 minutes, after which I decided to drop it altogether. The profile wasn't uploaded to BSN. I also made sure everything was set correctly in the options menu.

Anyway, it seems like the portrait is not relevant for DA:I, which is basically my only concern left, because Laidlaw already confirmed that you will be able to customize former characters if they appear in DA:I.

Thanks for your help, though, much appreciated!

The profile picture is just a png. No way the game could make your Hawke or warden from that.

Profiles will not upload to the BSN until syncing is enabled (even then they may be keep only)
