There are lot of them, but I can give you one hint. If you care about the durability, beware anything with Razer logo.
That's of course based on my experience with a few of their products. Just be careful.

At a glance, the most popular model also seemed to require continuous on-line connection for the software; not something I wanted either. Thanks!

I've used Logitech mice for donkeys years and they never break.

Saying that, i have just bought a Razor Naga Hex which i like so far. Its smaller than the logitech mice so its taking a bit of getting used to, but i love the 6 buttons around my thumb. I've also heard good things of their durability. The online part of their software is only if you want to load/save settings, doesnt need to be always online.

Why does a mouse require 24/7 online software for heavens sake? What does it do?

Anyway I have been using a Microsoft Razer Habu mouse for years. Only two thumb buttons but its configurable, and the buttons can be moved, has on the fly DPI sensitivity switching and is generally alright. Quite old now but had no issues with it.

If you had good experience with Logitech and wanted an MMO gaming mouse you could have go with g600.

Logitch mouses are maybe a little overpriced but they are usually very durable.

My very simple, non-gaming Logitech LX3 mouse lasted for 5 years of "heavy gaming" ;)

My Razer Lachesis had broken twice in 6 months. Razer Lycosa keyboard was even worse. After month it felt apart into a pieces like it was made of lego bricks.

tldr : If you don't care about paying a little more and there is a choice, go with Logitech.

G600 and Naga have too many buttons imo.

Thats why i got a Naga hex which has 6 around the thumb. 4-6 extra buttons is ideal for me. More than that is overkill.

Ofcourse were kinda off topic atm ;)

Bah auto attack :)

I have a Razr Imperator, and it's served me well for the last few years at least. It too has software, but it's a pretty simple application which allows you to switch mouse sensitivities by pressing a button on the mouse, and generally change the settings. Kind of like a joystick's software.

Does that mean one can't jump in tac cam mode? Or interact with objects? I know we can only use move-to-point and not WASD in tac cam.

I don't think this is 100% correct either. I am pretty sure I remember Laidlaw using wasd in tac cam. Of course, we SHOULD be able to use both, in either camera mode, regardless.

It would be real nice to get some comprehensive clarification on it.

I'm pretty sure you can move using WASD in tac cam too. You just can't move-to-point outside of tac cam.

Nope, I do not believe that either. I do not believe in regular pc play, you cannot click on a location to move to. That is how it has always worked. There is no reason to change it.

And I'm almost sure the only reason we didn't see it on the footage is because they were showing off the different features and combat options.

But Barrett pretty much stated it was exclusively WASD outside tac cam.

Move-to-point in Tac Cam. WASD outside Tac Cam.

There's only one way to move in each camera mode.

Exactly. He was answering a direct question, and he did so clearly.

I don't know how to interpret that answer, it is not all that clear.

Sylvius the Mad - That would depend on whether we can move-to-point outside of the Tac Cam. I always move-to-point, rather than driving with WASD.

Barrett Rodych - WASD outside tac-cam.

- Can we move-to-point outside of the Tac Cam ?

- No, it is WASD outside of the Tac Cam

That would mean you can't click to move in action cam, but doesn't mean you can't WASD in Tac Cam.

Or am I reading it wrong ?

Mike laidlaw also stated the exact same thing as Barret in the pc livestream.. WASD outside of tac cam.

Brogan isn't disputing that Barrett said it. He's just holding out hope that Barrett's wrong about that.

My point was that i doubt that he is as it has also been stated by the creative director while he was playing the game on a live stream.

No, he never said you cannot use the mouse to move outside of the tac cam.

That is the point I am making.

But Barrett said so. He is PC UI tester so I reckon he knows what he is talking about.

Think about it.  If you pause the game, and you are Not in tac cam, then you cannot issue movement orders.  You cannot tell your characters to move away from an incoming fireball.

That makes NO sense.

You can, technically, move your currently controlled character with mouse in action cam mode. By holding LMB+RMB.

That makes NO sense.

It doesn't make any, true. But it's BW own words.

Right, and I'm guessing you can do it in both regular and tac cam (would be stupid if you couldn't).

But I'm saying during pause, if you cannot click on a location, anywhere on the ground, while not in tac cam, that is just a waste of the pc ui.  And like the lmb+rmb drive functionality, location clicking to move is a core feature of how this series has always been.  There's no way they can change that and not expect a monumental uproar from their customers.

KOTOR didn't have GTAoEs, so you had nothing to outrun anyway.

Forgot grenades.

You know, this is precisely what I was hoping for. It's pretty cool that we get to switch between two, relatively different, combat systems at any point in time. Why anyone would complain about this is a bit beyond me. It would seem to me that tactical combat is going to be more advantageous at higher difficulties.
