Specializations have always been my favorite part of Dragon Age character building, and hearing that they'll be integrated into the story in Inquisition makes me positively giddy. Have you guys and ghouls decided on what you're rolling with yet?

My Trevelyan is a Sword-and-Shield Templar; I'm rather anti-Mage, and ripping through all the demons and apostates in DA2 was too fun to not try again. "It's raining demons out there?" No problem.

My Cadash is an Archery Assassin; I loved Nathaniel's set-up in Awakening, and the idea of playing the brutal fixer of the Carta is super exciting. If you need someone dead in one hit, my dwarf's the lady you need.

My Lavellan is an Inferno Knight Enchanter; he's something of a radical freedom fighter, so he has to be able to burn down all those pesky human farms, and then Knight Enchanter is as close as he can get to the Arcane Warriors of lost Arlathan.

I'm thinking about a Two-Handed Reaver and a Spirit Rift Mage for later, but already have so many planned as it is.

It's funny I was initially thinking Rift mage for my male Trevelyan because I have no interest in a melee mage, but now that I've seen it in action I'll probably be a Knight Enchanter.

 

My second Inquisitor will be a female Lavellan, and whichever will suit Archery best out of Tempest/Assassin or is acquired through a way that is consistent for that character..

Second playthrough will definitely be a Rogue, but I'd like see more of the Assassin & Tempest trees before deciding on a spec...

It will really depend on what character is formed in my mind as I created my first character.  Though the Knight Enchanter looks fun.

Eventually I would pick all of them. My first five are Knight Enchanter,Reaver,Tempest,Rift Mage, and Necromancer.

 

Knight Enchanter: Human/Male/Mage

Reaver: Dwarven/Female/Warrior

Tempest: Elven/Male/Rogue

Rift Mage: Qunari/Female/Mage

Necromancer: Elven/Female/Mage

Choosing for rp purposes

 

My mage is a necromancer. He doesn't like people very much. He always found comfort in knowing that there are other sentient entities and was always fascinated by them. When he looks at the breach he doesn't see a threat but an opportunity to learn.

 

My rogue is an archer artificer. He values precision. He is an inventor and never understood those ready to charge at the frontlines and sacrifice themselves when there is a better way to do it.

 

My warrior is a reaver. He revels in battle. An adrenaline junkie that loves getting into trouble. The troubles of the world create a great environment for him to do what he does best. He doesn't care to justify his behavior with big words like "honor". For him every battle is as good as the next.

 

But really my choices will depend more on the gameplay aspect rather than rp

Depends on the Tempest spec, if I like it I'll go Rogue. If not, then probably 2H Champion.

Elf: Subterfuge, Assassin or Winter, Knight Enchanter

 

Human: Storm or Inferno, Rift Mage

 

Dwarf: Sabotage, Tempest

 

Qunari: Two Handed, Reaver

 

Honorable Mention: a mage who has dedicated his life to understanding the spirit world. He focuses on the spirit tree, and necromancy.

Wow no one wants to be a champion? Oh well more room for me.

My Adaar will be a Champion, shield & sword user that keeps a calm yet laid back approach to things. He prefers the battle of attrition rather than the barbaric all out offense. Although when he needs to "bring the mayhem" when needed.
