I have the recommended specs for my PC, would I be able to run Inquisition at Ultra settings or will the fps be hindered? I would love to play Inquisition on max settings but I don't want my frame rate to drop.

What are the specs for the most powerful PC on the market btw? I know my system is not the most current PC hardware, but I did upgrade it last year :/.

EDIT: Would we be able to get a PC benchmark?

Really hard to say if you can or cannot without posting your specs.

I already said I CAN. I was talking about frame rate on ultra settings with the recommended specs...

Sorry I didn't go into detail what I mean. When you say you have the recommended specs. That doesn't mean recommended specs translates that you CAN run this game on ultra. Recommended specs just means you can run this game on decent settings. Why I asked for your specs is because AMD six core CPU or Intel quad core CPU is too broad. Not all six core CPUs from the AMD line plays out well. I've seen people with AMD Phenom II X6 1100T, 16GB of Ram, and Radeon HD 7850 2GB run BF4 on high with 40-55 FPS. For them to bump it up to ultra they see something else like 30-40 FPS.

It's impossible to say what framerate or graphics settings you can get without knowing what resolution you will using. The 'recommended' requirements are probably for 1080p resolution. I'm going to wait until 2015 to upgrade my system because I plan on getting a Skylake processor and DDR4 memory. Then I'll probably go to a 1440p 27" monitor which I can run with a $350 video card. Although 4k monitors are nearly the same price as 1440p monitors I'd have to spend $1,000 on a graphics card(s) to run it.

The GTX 970s are the sweet spot for a lot of maxwell users with its overclocking potential. From AnandTech's review of the 970 while playing BF4 on ultra. They saw 50 FPS on 2560x1440 resolutions and that's priced $350. My 780ti does 60 FPS on ultra while playing BF4 using a 2560x1440 resolutions. Very similar on what you get with the 980s for $550.

So you'd vote GTX 970 over the GTX 980? I'm just not a fan of overclocking. It seems like it requires a pretty saavy comp. person to do it right.

What about average frame rate with the recommend specs on the Dragon Age website?

My specs, currently on Windows 8.1 64bit, copied from the Battle.net beta testing registration form:

CPU TYPE: Intel® Core™ i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz CPU SPEED: 3.32 GHz SYSTEM MEMORY: 8.5 GB VIDEO CARD MODEL: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti VIDEO CARD MEMORY: 4.23 GB VIDEO CARD DRIVER: nvd3dum.dll DESKTOP RESOLUTION: 1920x1080 HARD DISK SIZE: 914.3 GB HARD DISK FREE SPACE: 401.48 GB (44%)

I would generally expect that we'd have to beat the recommended specs in order to run at Ultra.

You're going to get at least average about 50 on ultra. May dip a little based on how busy the screen is with action like particle effects. Could go with custom and adjust things like Anti-aliasing and keep the rest on ultra to help with performance if you do hit a bit of lag.

Don't really need to be saavy to do overclocking to get GTX 980 results from a GTX 970. The 970s are so much cooler and efficient than any Nvidia cards to date a that a small overclocking won't make it unstable.  It has a lot of headroom to work with.
