I can solve all of our problems and suggest an open relationship with Varric and Harding. Threesome yes please.

Sadly, they seem to be moving away from any possibility of that, though there was something like that at least temporarily in the other two games. I'd be thrilled to find out I was wrong, of course, at least a couple of my Inquisitors are going to be a little torn at discovering they can't talk their LI into a little shared fun at least (only a couple, mine tend to range from mostly innocent to complete and happy hedonists, it gives them more personality). ;)

I agree. IF there were to be any threesomes/foursomes, it would be with Isabela as is DA tradition.

On another note, Harding does strike me a fiercely independent so I can definitely see her remaining Thedas's most eligible bachelorette until the next DA or forever.

Maybe if we shout loud enough, she could be a potential companions for next DA installment?

I fear that too :( That would mean both Varric and Harding are off the market in the future. Which would terrible.

I will be so disappointed if this happens. :(

Really? I won't, Varric needs to get over Bianca, if not with the Inquisitor, with someone else at least.

It's not the two of them getting together, it's that (since Varric seems permanently off the list of possibilities) it would immediately tie up the only dwarven NPC they've introduced that we know about who seems like a likely future companion/romance. Though although I think Harding's adorable, the dwarf-to-hobbit transformation of dwarven women is bothering me more as time passes and not less, sigh.

Well as long as I'll be able to make a pretty face (or at least a face I like) in CC for my dwarfette (I'm not really good at this) I'm ok with playing Lady Hobbit. I became accustomed to this idea.

Speaking of it - I'm wondering about a name for her. Initially I was going to name her Gida (after Ragnar's daughter in Vikings series). However, since she's Lady Hobbit now - perhaps Froda would be better? Or even Merry? (I have to say I like this option :D ). Other names I got are Tamrinn (after Tam Tam from Lost Girl), Kira (not original at all), Cleo (sounds cute) and Gwen. What do you think about them?

Do you already have names for your dwarven ladies and gents? Share them!

Edit: I've just realized that this should be more in place in Dwarf Support Thread then Harding's but it's water under the bridge now.

I take it you didn't see how female dwarves look like in DA:I?

Take a look at our petite heroine  http://m.youtube.com...h?v=jbg81hh_bDA

She looks more like a Lady Hobbit then Dwarf Maiden.

I wonder how big a part Harding will play... I just hope nothing happens between her and Varric. I think if Varric isn't romancable, it's because Bianca is going to come back into play at some point. That, I could accept.

That's the only way I can describe them. They have no resemblance to male dwarves now, other than their height. Sadly, my Zhenya Cadash, warrior and my planned first PT, may never make it out of the CC now because the more I look at "improved" female dwarves, the harder time I imagine them being physically powerful enough to be a good fighter. Rogues, sure, but I always particularly liked female dwarven warriors because they reminded me of badgers.

I haven't seen it, but if it involves the fade, it wasn't necessarily reality as much as nightmare/imagination?

I believe that it was Mary Kirby who said that just because Varric thought she died, this doesn't necessarily mean this is actually the case?

The writers have been banging in that Varric only loves Bianca, so I doubt he'll get it on with Harding.

It still seems minor to me. They certainly didn't seem more muscular to me in Origins.

They have no upper body or arm muscle now (it really shows in the narrow shoulders they now have). And they looked like the same race as male dwarves in DAO. Now, they don't. If you didn't know there weren't hobbits in the game, they'd be much more believable as female hobbits. The new build is fine...if you want to play a dwarven rogue. Not terribly believable as a warrior unless dwarven women have some magical upper body strength.

It bothers me most because they haven't given us any choices for playing a female in DAI. Sure, you can be a female with any class, but you have to play a body type that's clearly slender-to-delicate for your race (except elves in which both males and females are slender) AND just to nail the point home, you have to run like you're more concerned with who's watching than running in a practical way (which seems to be minimally emphasized for a female dwarf, which helps a little). Kind of makes RPing anything other than a very conventionally feminine Inquisitor a lot more difficult. Presumably, anyone good enough to be a warrior or rogue inquisitor in Inquisition is the equivalent to a professional athlete, after all. They should look and move like one, at least in the field.

I'm already doing a certain amount of eye-rolling at things like the priest with the catwalk strut. That's so wonderfully dignified for a presumably powerful woman...

I'm a little disappointed if they've remodeled male dwarves around the Hobbit (why jump on the band wagon of other fantasy worlds?) But even if it's great for male dwarves, it still doesn't explain the female dwarves and their lack of resemblance to the men.
