They're not dumb but perhaps too forward and aggressive for the likes of me.  I've met many charming American men but ALL of them had travelled to other cultures and had a greater appreciation for how other cultures are different,.

They don't necessarily have to travel abroad to develop such an appreciation, but I suppose most of them don't have my talent for intellectualization (probably a good thing) or studied history and anthropology extensively.

You will now be referred to as Doctor Autumn Witch.

I once majored in history, but psychology is where I ended up. There's just something about understanding how much power fear has over our every day lives. It's quite fascinating really...

I find most psych majors are the once generally most screwed up in the head and have the most serious control issues...not staying you are that way but been my experience. And its Dr. Autumn Witch , generally speaking Doctor is customarily used just for MD's for some reason...don't ask me I don't make the rules.

Screwed up in the head?! OF COURSE!

As for control issues unless you're specifically referring to OCD control issues such as "This has to go here", depending on the task "This has to be done in X way and X way only!", or any number of OCD only peculiarities not relating to interacting with people then yes you are correct there.

Other than that, interacting with me is pretty similar to interacting with a robot (that has a tendency to go on tangents). Which as I am told creeps people out, and makes me sad.  :crying:

I have bachelor degree in history and it's more than enough! PHD in history? lol

I changed my major because history is so useless! Even people in my new UNI don't give a damn about my history knowledge!

Also I'm a self trained Karafu master (Karate + Kung Fu) or you can call me a Kungrate master!

Hmm...

- I always wash my hands before I go on a computer/gaming console.

- I won't eat while I'm on the computer/playing games. I don't like the feel of greasy controllers/keyboards.

- I'm severely self-conscious about how my hair looks (I'm sure that's the norm for a lot of people, but I find it weird).

- I'm a pretty calm person unless I'm driving. I very easily get road rage.

Haha I get this too! Especially if someone tries to cut me off or they try to speed up on purpose to get in front of me then I get so furious that I speed extra up and wont let them beat me in being faster than me and I usually always win, I always leave them behind like dust!! You see.... there's the problem... I see it as "winning"... lol.

Done very well for me... made well into the six figures when I worked mostly due to my educational back ground. Retried at a VERY early age due to it. Now I am a writer and work when I want. It also has made my writing much better due to both the wealth of historical knowledge I have and being able to see humanity from a much wider perspective than most people do. I think if you have talent and PhD in any subject you can be very successful.

Well, most people in the US seem to see history as pointless and/or boring. There's a movement by some morons that want to remove history entirely from the curriculum at schools. In fact, social studies (history) teachers at the majority of public (possibly even private) high schools rarely have a degree in history (usually it's physical education). Although, that may be changing.

Then there is the perceived lack of jobs for history majors. Usually it's stuck to just teaching when in fact there are numerous other jobs someone with a history degree can get like getting a job with the FBI, working at the library of Congress, and a few other things that do with working with lawyers or something.

That perception is crap...the majority of people in the US and UK work at jobs that have NOTHING to do with their degree. It's just a ticket to be able to get jobs that require a college education (esp those with just a BA/BS). My BA is in Theatre, and the other two in History but I worked in both technology and eventually executive management. Only did one company I ever work for have anything to do with history and even there my job was the Executive Manager and my job duties had nothing to do with history .

Unless you are going into certain fields, (medicine, science, engineering etc) your undergrad degree doesn't matter, its just a ticket to better jobs in general.

Degrees are nice pieces of paper that tell your employer that you wrote some stuff down and know a little more about that stuff than the stuff he majored in. Like Witch said, unless you want to be a specific thing, your degree is just a useful thing to make you look smarter than you really are.

I wouldn't know about most people in the US because I'm European. But lots of dumb stuff happens there and a lot dumb stuff happens here. More dumb stuff happens elsewhere and in general dumb stuff happens.

Because people (i,e me) are usually dumb.

Anyway moving on.

I hate Jewellery. To the point that I won't even touch it. I ****** hate that crap. Not for any particular reason... it's just... icky. I find them repulsive xD

In which case I will point out that the bolded part of that sentence only applies to that sentence.

I could then use anecdotal evidence from my experiences in history classes to explain said point, but itt's really beside the point. I don't feel like going in a tangent about it.

As for the whole job thing, yes you are quite correct, but it is again not what I was alluding to with the post itself.

As a general rule, most people are dumb. Unfortunately, most people have a bias that causes them to either inflate the intelligence or deflate the intelligence of the people from the area that they are from. It can be quite amusing.

There's always a particular reason, but you may not be consciously aware of that reason anymore. These are the things that interest me about other people, as well as figuring out what the initial trigger was for such beliefs.

That's why I remain humble and include myself within the demographic. I am by no means, an intelligent person.

Just a dude who posts sh*t online.

Maybe so. I also (if you saw my first post) have a dislike for coins.

So perhaps there's some subconscious mumbo jumbo that Freud or Jung want to talk about. If you want, analyse this to your heart's content xD

Freud would likely analyze you as having some weird sex fetish. Everything was about sex with Freud. While I give props to Freud for his work with identifying the defense mechanisms our mind has, which was expanded on by his daughter Anna Freud as well as a number of other psychologists who's names I forget, the rest especially his stages of development is laughable.

Jung would likely say something along the lines of because of your (the) collective unconscious causes you to have a fear of jewelry. As such, one of your ancestors (who you would share the memories of subconsciously) may have had his/her jewelry taken from them forcibly (or been killed for it), and it is these subconscious memories that is causing your dislike/fear of jewelry. The same could be used for coins.

Unfortunately, it's all speculation but I'm pretty sure Jung's work is part of the basis for the animus in the Assassin's Creed universe.

My analysis of the your dislike/fear would be similar to Jung, but I would place it more to you having a bad experience when interacting with coins/jewelry. What exactly that would be I have no idea at this time.

That's factually incorrect most people fall within  "average" which by definition is not dumb it's average. 50% of people in the world have an IQ of 90-100 which is considered average. There is another 25% who have "above average" IQ so the majority of humans (75%) are average or greater.

I think you are confusing "dumb" with "ignorant".  You can have a high IQ but be vastly ignorant. Also, recent research has proven that humans are on average becoming less intelligent as a whole but at the same time there are more people considered "genius"  than any time in history.

Yes, yes nitpick my tangents why don't you.

Then again, does IQ really test intelligence? What factors can play a role in a person's IQ? If a person scores low on an IQ test, are they really incompetent or is the test itself flawed? Are there ways to raise your score on the IQ test without actually becoming "smarter"?

Then again, that is a whole can of worms with far more controversy than I would prefer to discuss.

Probably not as big an anime fan as some here, but that one sticks out to me.
