"You will resist. You will always resist. It matters not."
Amazing line.
Starting to get the sense of the story, with all the other trailers. I should really stop learning about the game.

Oh, and the term "underwhelmed" will now be officially retired forever from this forum [pending moderator approval] due to its immediate overuse by a minor percentage of our participants.
But I like that word, it accurately reflects how I feel about the trailer. Don't get me wrong I appreciate the staff worked hard on this but I admit I was expecting it to be as good as the enemy of thedas trailer and I just feel it didn't really get near that.
Do we have official confirmation of that fact?
No but I can clearly see it is Stroud.
That trailer really didn't tell you anything. "You resist, but it's futile" wuahaha. Inquisitor walking around and killing a few people. I agree with those who said they should have swapped races and I think gender as well. It would have been more entertaining to constantly see the Inquisitor change.
Why are we kicking the Grey Warden's asses?! Why??!!!!
I don't understand how people are getting so confused about the voices??
It's Vivienne, Solas, The Elder One, Solas, The Elder One, Solas and then Solas again.
Female - Welshman - A deep gravelly Big Bad Guy voice a la Smaug from the Hobbit. they're distinct
I'm pretty sure "It's time we start believing in this one," is the Inquisitor. Sometimes it's hard to tell his voice and Solas' apart.
So... I'm going to ask again... This time with a picture:
Does anyone else think that is Stroud?
The mustachieo'd man of wonder returns!
To me that looks just like one of the basic human male heads that has been shown, and it most particularly does NOT look the least bit like the Stroud that we've seen. The Hero of Thedas trailer seemed to be trying to show an Inquisitor of different classes, with rogue, mage and warrior moments. This is just another shot of a different male Inquisitor in action.
He's only on screen for half a second... That's why I'm not sure and am asking.
But to claim he looks nothing like Stroud, seems a tad over the top. After all, Stroud looks like this: Yes it's just the mustache and haircut, but it'd be a tad weird that they'd insert a half second shot of an unhelmeted Inquisitor in the trailer when every other shot of the Inquisitor has the helmet on...
When publishers of games that allow you to choose your gender does not automatically go with the male for marketing is the day less of us will criticize this choice. Which won't happen until publishers stop being afraid that a lot of dude gamer's won't play the game because they think you can only be a female when they see a female protagonist. Female gamer's however don't care as much when it's the opposite.
Except they've marketed trailers and gameplay of both genders pretty equally...
Seems a lot like petty whining tbh

Looks like him but I had the same thought when I saw this character

I don't think it's the inquisitor.
Every time we saw him, trailers or gameplay videos, she/he always wears the same helmet so we can recognize her/him, except for qunari.
"I will not suffer even an unknowing rival. You must die."
Great line. Much better than "We fight or we die" from ME3.

Ooh can we retired "disappointed", "dealbreaker", and "betrayed" as well?
The Grey Wardens are a bunch of bellends, anyway, with only the occasional exception. Not in the slightest surprised as to why we are fighting them.

But this line was from the villain, and the one from ME3 was from the hero, wasn't it? How can you compare them ![]()
But yes, the Elder One so far has had brilliant lines.
To me that looks just like one of the basic human male heads that has been shown, and it most particularly does NOT look the least bit like the Stroud that we've seen previously in DA2. The Hero of Thedas trailer seemed to be trying to show an Inquisitor of different classes, with rogue, mage and warrior moments. This is just another shot of a different male Inquisitor in action.
That might be Stroud. It is a Grey Warden with black hair and a bushy 'stache. His facial features might not be an exact match for Stroud in DA2, but then Morrigan, Leliana, and Cullen also look slightly different from their appearances in DA:O/DA2. New engine and all that...
I'm not necessarily saying it is Stroud. I'm just saying that the people speculating that it is Stroud might not be wrong. The guy fighting blinky is close enough in appearance for that theory to at least be plausible.
My main criticism here is that 1) Because of the fact that this is called the "Hero of Thedas" trailer and because of the "What kind of hero will you be?" line that they would in fact show all the four races and 2) I had hoped that they would use one of the American VAs for this one.
I'm quite sure that it was meant more as "what character will the hero be". Not who thay'll be per se.
Not physically, but what kind of person. I think it implies, that we'll get similar degree of morality customization that we had in DA:O.

I agree. Pushing how I feel about this game to the far corners of Thedas, this trailer was pretty... boring. It didn't give me any excitement like previous Dragon Age trailers. I guess since I know next to nothing about this game that it hurts any expectation for it. I just want to keep myself blind to it because I soaked up all the information about Dragon Age II and was disappointed.
Except they've marketed trailers and gameplay of both genders pretty equally...

I wrote "publishers", I was not specifically talking about Bioware, that are devs. The general runes in the gaming industry, Bioware is among the very few who at least tries to make a difference.
Solas was eaten LOL ![]()

1) The mustached guy is wearing Grey Warden Armor
2) The trailer is showing different classes of Inquisitor, but he always has the same face and the iconic Inquisitor Armor
It's Stroud
Considering how much gameplay we've seen with the female inquisitor so far I'm really surprised when some peoples first comment is: "There's just dude inquisitor in this trailer whine whine..."
More people see the trailers than they do the gameplay vids.
Solas was eaten LOL
it was a female grey warden mage, not solas
It is your typical BW grandiloquent trailer--it is grand in its style; with its speeches, scenes and visual display. Either you like it or you don't, both opinions are understandable.
