Actually I never bought DA2 or ME3 due to player reviews.  Well that and the DA2 demo.  I've watched enough Let's Play vids and other stuff to know that for me, it was the right decision.  Definitely waiting on DAI reviews.

I'll have to take your word on that.  With TW3 coming out, if I heard bad stuff about it prior to buying, I think I'd still have to give it a fair shake myself.  Simply because I love the series that much.  It's the same deal with DA2 and ME3.  While I wasn't blown away by DA2, I still think I would have missed out if I took gamers' reviews at their word.  And with ME3, it's no contest.  I thought that was a fantastic game, arguably the best of the three, barring the shitty ending.

Gamers are vulnerable to butthurt syndrome.  Professional reviewers less so.  The most I'd ever do is use reviews as guidelines to either buy at full price or wait for a discount (as some posters already mentioned).

Nope, I have kept up on all DAI information and feel that I the game is a wise purchase therefore I have pre-ordered the game. Plus I really enjoyed the two previous games, despite their faults, and feel that this game will be no different.

I'll read them out of curiosity

won't have any effect on my purchase of the game though

Nope.  Dragon Age II my least favorite BioWare game and I still thought it was a solid 7.5/10.  This is a blind buy.

Normally I do, and even when I don't read reviews or watch lots of YouTube clips of gameplay, I just don't like bothering with a game until it's had time to get its final round of bugtesting- i.e., consumer playing- delaying buying until the price has come way down and the final patch has arrived. Plus I assume there'll be a slew of essential mods (replete with their own patches) that won't be out for months afterward anyway. So for my entire life I have always just waited... Until DAI... which I just pre-ordered (for friggin $70). What? It looks good from the sneakpeaks, more like DAO than DA2, great character creator base, brought back dwarves (that look rad) and added qunari, cool new "influence-building" dynamic, good stuff. Our characters can even jump and fall off surfaces for vertical movement, it seems!

(OK, I preordered BGEE, but I was in the betatester team, so that doesn't count...)
