I'll read reviews before buying the game. Mostly from sites I trust. And from word of mouth from other players. There has been some good news about this game e.g. the length and plot and the characters. And some not so good news about the game e.g.
the no healing (somewhat) spells in the game, the lack of ability points, and a few other things. That's why I'd like to read reviews and hear what other players has to say before buying it.

Absolutely. After the last two Bioware games I won't make the mistake of not reading reviews.

I don't go off of gaming websites anymore, however. I find youtube personalities and consumer reviews to be much more trustworthy.

Before buying, no I doubt it. Even when aspects of Bioware games haven't been all I hoped for (which is rare for me) I've still enjoyed them a great deal. Bioware has my money!

After I've played a while I will likely look into a few reviews. I find for some RPGs that it takes reviewers a while anyways.

Read reviews and most importantly watch/follow gameplay/let's play vids to get a feel for the game. As I stated in the health/healing thread my anticipation for this game has been stumped somewhat due the removal of some past features, mainly the limiting of potions and removal of healing skills/trees altogether (for teh challenge!) Who knows it could still be a fantastic game and I could be worrying over nothing but I will wait and see and make an informed decision before reaching for my wallet.

Nope. I have never been a fan of reviews, who are they to tell us what games are "good" and which ones are "bad"? I love vampire rain for the xbox360, yet it gets universally panned as a "bad" game. Reviewers are just people smart enough to get paid for their opinions. This game is a day one buy for me like any other game I plan to buy.

As i had said Jagged Alliance back in action had the same "trouble": limited medi kits and no wolverine healing. The game was as popular as Duke Nukem because we had grown up, but you had to constantly save, pause and pulish your tactics at each step. Deep thinking is the key to beat Jagged alliance, you must sneak, divide and even throw granades at strategycally places. Seems like DAI gameplay will be very alike to it. If you wander in places you are not supossed to be you will meet a real doom. Resource management and scavenging will be a must instead of a way to make easy money (same as JA:BiA)

Since I'm from The UK I end u[ reading game reviews anyway before the game is out (most games release on a friday here) With a game like DAI which I'm gonna get regardless the review is somthing to read before I get the game and probably just hypes me even more even if review droid x-19 hates it

I will not read reviews.  The ending of ME3 means that I have no intention of buying any more Mass Effect games unless reviews are fairly universally wonderful, but the Dragon Age team has earned enough of my trust (and hasn't particularly squandered any of it) that I believe DA:I will be excellent on the basis of their work up to this point, without needing to read reviews.

I've preordered on multiple systems but I don't open anything until at least a week after it's come out so that I can read multiple reviews before deciding to open. This way I get the pre-order bonuses if I decide to take the chance. There's one gaming website in particular where for whatever reason, they're RPG reviews are pretty consistent with my analysis. Of course,I read multiple before coming to a solid decision; a kind of meta analysis.

It's not the reviews that matter the most to me, it's the fans' actual opinions (consensus).

Yeah I don't trust "official" reviews anymore either. I'd rather read player reviews.

That being said, I preordered the game because I trust BioWare's DA team to deliver. I do watch the in game footage though.

I'm from the Uk so it's more than likely that I'll be seeing first impressions before the game is released.

Nah, I've already pre-ordered it.

It may or may not live up to my expectations, but at the end of the day I'm a huge fan of Dragon Age series/setting in general so I know I should still enjoy it.  I mean I even enjoyed DA2 for the most part, even if it frustrated me how much was missing/changed compared to Origins.  So as long as they don't somehow make it worse than DA2 I should be safe lol...fingers crossed eh?

Although that's where my goodwill ends, I wouldn't be so trusting/confident with other Bioware games and would wait for reviews with them.  I also tend to lean more towards player reviews or reviews by youtubers I trust, "official" or "professional" ones in my experience, can be biased and miss key points of interest to me.

I pre-ordered the game long ago, so I am not going to read any reviews before playing the game.

Reading reviews of gaming bloggers from IGN, Eurogamer etc. is pointless. Metacritic score also doesn't mean much. I'd recommend watching Angry Joe's video review, he always gives an honest, balanced and funny opinion, guy obviously puts a lot of effort into his reviews. He's also a Bioware fan.

*Checks Star Fury's last post in the Healing thread...* :)

Preordered. Disappointed by much in DA2 but still enjoyed it for what it was and actually liked a lot of the character interactions and new mechanics. Seen enough to convince me its a game I want to play. Put little stock in most game reviews.

I wrote that metacritic score, user score and sales support my opinion. Bolded important parts for you so you don't choke on coffee.

I will probably read a few but they wont stop me from buying the game. Allready got it pre-ordered and i know I'll have a great time with Inquisition. It ticks all the right boxes for me in the rpg department.

I also enjoyed DA2 and the reviews didn't stop me buying it either. A review is an opinion not a fact. Many people disliked DA2 but i loved it. Sarcastic/Hawke all the way. :D

Not with DAI, I have seen enough trailers and read enough news to know about game. and that I'd like it. It's also BW's and DA series game so I'd buy it anyways.

When buy games as gifts or buy games I haven't heard before I tend to search a little and watch reviews. Usually review guys just focus on "wrong" things in the games, not what I find important.

If there's anything I learned from DA2, a game that I bought without any prior knowledge of and ended up loving, but is to this day being heavily lampooned almost constantly, it's that other peoples' opinions generally aren't worth the time it takes for me to read them. So, no, I'm playing the game on launch regardless of what anyone says.
