Is it just me or does it sound like the voice over dialogue "You will resist, you always resist.  It matters not." in the new trailer sound like Corypheus?  Maybe not the actual actor, but definitely similar tone/timbre as the character in Legacy.  At 0:35 seconds in.

I wonder if he is one of the big bads unleashed on Thedas?  Either free of a physical body or in a new one?

I was wondering the same thing. Wouldn't surprise me if he made a reappearance in DAI, especially considering how Legacy went. Trailers are also highly misleading, so... I doubt that we saw him, at least not in the footage where his (potentially his, rather) voice was overlaid.

Oh I have a feeling he´ll have a rather big part in DA:I,hell I think he´s either the main villains second in command or the Elder One himself :P

The voice of Corypheus, also voicing the Magistrate in DA2, doesn't sound the same to me in regards to this Elder One figure.

Almost certain this is the Elder One himself, the entire Enemy of Thedas trailer seems to indicate so.

It's possible. He was an interesting character in Legacy, certainly.

Hmmmm....maybe I should play through Legacy again.

As awesome as Cory is, I'd have loved for the Architect to have played a bigger role than he did.

I know he is in the game, but I sincerely hope he is not the Elder One. For one thing this Elder Ones plans seem to have been in motion for longer than Cory has been free. Plus the Elder One seems so much more menacing and shadowy than a corrupted magister. He should be the big bad of a major story arc (in my opinion) but not the Elder One himself. (I prefer Dumat for the title of Elder One)

Well yeah I agree that the timeline is a bit off with bioware saying that the main villain has been panning this for a long time but what if he orchestrated this through the fade? He is an ancient magister so he´s most likely a somniari too so while his body was trapped he used to the fade to set things up?

That would be cool if it were Dumat.

I didn't think (or expect) that Cory would be the big bad, but thought he might be one of the baddies you fight in Inquisition.  The voice definitely sounds similar to his--tone and timbre of the way the words are pronounced.

And if not him, maybe another Magister or spirit speaking in that similar "out of date" kind of feel to it like Cory had.

How?

Ow, sorry, wasn't reading correctly the first time, I meant to say the voice in the trailer is certainly the Elder One's.

I was just listening Corypheus' voice moments from DA2 and I don't see that much resemblance between the 2 voices.

It sounds exactly like the Profane abomination from the Deep Roads in DA2. Which, incidentally, was Corypheus' voice actor David Sterne.

Does that mean the Elder One is Corypheus? Maybe. But David Sterne voices several characters throughout Dragon Age, including Magistrate Vanard and the slaver who holds Feynriel captive, so they might just be using his villainous voice for a different character.

Entirely possible.  oooh I had forgotten how sinister this guy sounds!  I just thought the manner of speaking, not necessarily his voice seemed similar to me.

Thanks for the blast from the past!

Yes, its the same voice actor. However if Corypheus and the antagonist in trailers are supposed to be two different characters it would be a bit confusing, since the evil vilain tone he does is a bit sameish.

Not really. They are both deep voices, but Corypheus sounds a lot older. Unless they changed it or something.

Its been said on BSN and I agree with this.  I think Cory is controlling the wardens.  He will probably be a boss but probably not THE boss.

That doesn't sound like the Corypheus I remember, but I'd other things on my mind, like herding my companions through that slaughterhouse Cory made.  Is it the same VA?  I know Cory is supposed to show up, but it doesn't really sound like him.  I agree that there's an influence on the wardens, and it might be Cory, or another like him.  Something has been pulling key wardens away from their vigilance.  I'm more attracted to the idea that it's a different magister.  So far, there's been the Architect and Corypheus, with another hinted at in Last Flight.  What if all 9 of them are subject to reincarnation?  Whoa boy, we're in for a ride.  Bring it on, Bioware!

Ha, can you imagine if he is The Big Bad? Yet another thing Hawke failed at, poor chap. I imagine Varric being elsewhere whenever the topic of Corypheus comes up.

Well, DA:I *is* all about fixing the mistakes made in DA2. We just assumed BioWare were referring to the technical and gameplay issues.

wasn't there a thread back in the day that talked about if there was no hawke, Kirkwall was actually better off?  There were very good details in that thread but it escapes me because I think I was amused by it versus intrigued.
