That seems like an oxymoron.

...Why? She died just like anyone else so why would she be in the fade and not everyone else that has died?

I think the OP might be thinking of the spirit inside her, but since she specifically gave the spirit up to save Evangeline...yeah.

The fade is for spirits who don't go elsewhere.  I suspect, wherever Wynne's spirit winds up, it's not trapped in an eternity of half-life.  That would be so antithetical to Wynne's character, that if I met her there, I'd offer her sympathy.  Whatever Wynne was, positive or negative, uncertainty was never one of her faults.

We don't know what happens to the souls after death. According to Justice they pass beyond the Fade. Whether or not they become spirits is unknown. It's like the gift of man in LOTR. No one knows what happens after death. They leave this world for another?

The souls of the dead go to the Fade, but where they eventually pass is unknown.

We don't know what happens to the people of thedas when they die. in Elven Lore one of the Creators would guide the dead passed the fade, and we've never heard about a dead Elf or Human becoming a spirit so i doubt thats how it works.

EDIT: And i believe the consensus for every race believes you go beyond the fade when you die.

No. Soul don't go to the fade. They can only be trapped in the fade. And even then under the right conditions they can leave.

If she is in the fade(no idea if that's what actually happens) then shes probably like a wisp or whatever. I doubt it'd be Wynne. More like a small part of her consciousness.

If anyone was to become a spirit of compassion, or a benevolent force of the greater good Wynne should be. She was one of the kindest souls in the game and the most beloved by my point of view. She finally did the ultimate sacrifice and saved a templar named Evangeline in the Dragon age book Asunder ( btw i totally recommend it to read it. its a great book). She must be rewarded in the afterlife or in the Fade- Beyond whatever its called.

They probably pass through the Fade like humans pass through the Halls of Mandos in Middle Earth, and if they are just, they probably end up by the side of the Maker, like humans move outside Ea and be with Iluvatar.

That is if the Maker is true as some say in Thedas. Iluvatar is fact in Middle Earth.

Maric may have run into his elf lover from the Stolen Throne (think the name was Katriel?) in the Fade, and if it was her then she is wandering the Fade like elves probably believe and the Chantry believes would happen to souls not brought to the Maker's side.

I doubt we'll ever see Wynne again. Maybe shades or memories of Wynne, but not Wynne herself.

Ands shades, shards or shadows of Wynne are good just like Malcom in the Legacy Dlc. Or in a dream a vision, ok thats way too much we dont even know her personally... But i am a mage full of dreams

They go to the afterlife. Since souls do exist in DA, it's clear that people don't just dissapear into nothingness when they die.

And they don't go to the Fade, otherwise the Fade would be infested with dead souls. And everyone would know that's where people go when they die because mages regularly visit the Fade.

That would be a good gesture and I love to see Wynne again even in the Fade, but I hope she is not going to nag me about what it mean to be Inquisitor, and why I shouldn't romance this person because it could jeopardize my sense of duty.

Who wants to make a bet that Wynne is the one that our Inquisitor almost torches in the Fade at the beginning of the game and not Andraste  :o  :)

There is precedence to believe that it's possible to become a spirit after death. The IDW Dragon Age Comic series shows just such an occasion. The Protagonists mother is shown to have become a spirit upon her death in order to watch over her daughter. She says that she become one by choice and chose to remain in the Fade. It's also worth noting that she was a mage and died tragically. Being a mage and having died in a state of extreme emotions may make it possible to become a spirit much the same as the idea of ghosts in our own society as being spirits of the deceased lingering after death in order to fulfill what they could not in life. All this being said she very will could have just been a spirit disguising herself as the the protagonist's mother, but given how the story unfolds, what we see off her interactions with her daughter in the Fade, and what is said, I don't believe this to be the case.

After all Wynne went through, and after all the years of her lifespan being extended I don't imagine her spirit would linger. In her final moments she gained happiness and fulfillment and the only possible outcome I could see for her is happily passing in to death.

I hope not, if you decide to die so your Marty Stu son can get laid you deserve to stay dead, dead as dead can be.

Maybe the female "spirit", presence is located on the other side, perhaps.

I actually like the OP's thought.

Either that or have those scrolls finally deciphered and find out Andraste was/is a mage/spirit and lent her guidance/aid.

I more lean towards something like Wynne and leave Andraste a mystery. But either would work with me.

I dont know how i would react if the whole Andrastian Chantry is a scam or the other way around and mages are the real reason for all this suffering.

Why is there confusion when it comes to the dead and the Fade?

The dead do pass through the Fade, as is stated by Justice, and they can "linger" for a time in the Fade as was seen in the comics (not the IDW ones, not sure how canonical those are...). How long can they wander? Who knows? Could be someone centuries later will see a dead soul in the Fade without necessarily being trapped by a demon. Time and space don't seem to have much hold on the Fade, just because there may be trillions of dead souls in the Fade, doesn't mean it is likely that a mage would run into them. Not even spirits and demons seem to be experts on the Fade.

Possible to see Wynne in the Fade? Yes, although with it being the Fade, when one sees the image of Wynne, it is more likely a spirit or demon.
