In Silent Grove, Yvanna is able to summon back the spirit of a recently dead person from the Fade and compels it to answer their questions on pain of "perdition" (possibly binding him to his dead body so he cannot pass beyond).     So it would seem that the soul of a dead person does initially go to the Fade but, as both the elves and Andrastrian's believe, and Justice seemed to confirm, they then pass beyond to another place.    To be left wandering the Fade would seem to be a punishment or at least the actions of an unquiet soul that did not die in peace.   It seems likely that benign spirits help to guide the soul to its final resting place, which is why a truly evil person might be left to wander because they would be repulsed by them and an uneasy soul might be avoided because of the negative emotions.

So it seems unlikely that Wynne would have been left in the Fade because she was a good person who died content.

I have this crazy theory that perhaps Wynne is the spirit that gives the inquisitor his mark at the very beginning of the game. Or at least the spirit of "hope" which she embodied in Origins. Being the inquisitor the only "hope" the races of Thedas have of closing the Breach. It's a long shot of course since I believe the developers are going to leave the identity of the spirit woman thing ambiguos.

Wynne thinks that the it is a spririt of faith. It would be great to see her do this act of love. To give the way to save the world.

You're right! My mistake. Although faith would also work the same way I guess.

Asunder happens whether Wynne lives or dies in your game. If she's dead, you have to interpret the events involving her as happening in a different way, but the main events of the books still happen, with or without her.

And I agree that the title of this thread is already a spoiler in itself. Should probably be reworded to something less obvious.

Most things happen yes. So I suppose either way wynne is ultimately dead.
