I just want to know what you guys think about the decision for the strict 1 body type for each race and gender, personally I wouldn't mind waiting longer for a better experience and further customization with tattoos.

I expect that body type customization would not be what you were looking for as we would most likely still get premade ones to use. Body type customization like height and weight and muscle mass would make it difficult to make proper armors. Now I wouldn't mind body tattoos but I would probably never see them.

I don't really care about body types. We already have races so that's good enough. But I do really want body tattoos. In general I love tattoos but I don't like putting tattoos on my characters face(unless their dalish or casteless) it's just kind of weird.

As far as delaying the game for this? No. No. No. No. No. No. **** no.

I don't care much about body types. But body tattoos are big yes! to me. Face tattoos feel weird since most of people who have tattoos don't have them in the face. Getting face tattoo is pretty hardcore and only few people do it so it'd make more sense to me if there was body tattoos available in the DA world as well.

I would love to see options to change muscle mass and/or definition. I think it would be great to see a female warrior with a bit of meat on her, and a male mage without.

Not going to happen.

I'm fine with the way it is now and body tattoos are totally pointless unless you plan to run around naked.

The devs aren't going to change this design choice. Pushing more resources into allowing for different body types and in the process heavily complicating the armor system is just not worth it; it adds NOTHING to the game.

I do love customizing my character and I will most likely spend hours getting my inquisitor just right. However, I couldn't give a rip about body types and body tattoos.  I care about story and game play.  Resources are not unlimited. Would you rather Bioware focus on every little customizable detail or would you rather they focus on story and game play.  Frankly, I am astounded by the amount of customization we are getting! Especially when you consider how much story we are getting.  This is also why I don't really complain about the fem inquisitor walk as some others have.  I'd rather Bioware spend the money on story, plain and simple.

Eh, if I want to play a stout / slender / "average" (lol) / buff person I can just change races.

I only wish the dwarves didn't look like they got slimmed down.

I really wish we could change body types; female human looks really slender for someone who spends a lot of time swinging a big sword and wearing full plate, while the option to be chunky would be appreciated across the board.

What people seem to forget when they suggest body types is that BioWare makes very cinematic games.

If you have dozens and dozens of different potential body shapes to work with, animating something as simple as someone giving your character a hug would suddenly become a nightmare when it comes to clipping.

Skyrim has body types, and has no cutscenes, Dragon's Dogma has body types, but has very few cutscenes - none of which really involve any physical interaction with your character, etc. etc.

Are you serious!? We don't need any more body types. We have been delayed enough. I will be playing Inquisition next month, even if that means flying to Canada and raiding the Bioware office.

Maybe something for the next game. It might be difficult to adjust armors and cutscenes but it would be nice to have different body shapes, especially for different classes.

It is not just difficult but a timely endeavor as well. With different body shapes Bioware would likely go back to having only one playable race.

I much rather have multiple playable races over having a choice in body shape per class.

But it's not impossible. Bioware even had different body shapes in The Old Republic. I know it's a bad example and I don't say that it's completely necessary but it would be nice. For sure only on top of all other features and not as replacement, so with all races still availeble.

The more customizable the main character the better. Many want to be the character and to do so they need to see themselves in him/her. The better the looks the better it is to spend hours with this character.

Nah I'll take quality cutscenes and physical character interaction over any selectable body type. Besides as others pointed out we already have different races for that. Let DA be DA not Skyrim or something.

I wouldnt mind body tattoos though, in FNV i gave my Courier some beautiful full-body tattoos via mod, and they look awesome in revealing clothes/armor. Correct me if im wrong but we already have custom Inquisitor body per race, so adding a texture to it shouldnt be a problem. Unless its not custom and then everyone in thedas except companions will run around with the same tattoos as our Inquisitor.

Even if they didn't actually cover the whole body (and it would largely be a waste if they did) - I'd still love the illusion of full body tattoos.  That would likely require neck, back of head, and limbs covered.  Torso is almost universally unseen in these games.

I just want my character covered head to toe in arcane runic symbols (or DA Glyphs would be cool).. is this too much to ask Bioware?

I'm pretty sure the reasons for singular body types dealt with the variance in romances, and making things line up seamlessly; I had read about the potential for race-gating Iron Bull because they were having issues coding a dwarf romance, but they sorted that out in the end. I don't know if this is an issue because of the move to the Frostbite 3 engine, or not... but if that is the reason, then it may be ironed out for future releases. In any event, it does not seem as though it will happen this time around.

As far as body tattoos are concerned, I believe the topic was addressed briefly in a live stream, stating that they chose not to go in this direction because it would consume resources better spent elsewhere. I understand wanting for them, and wanting to see them peaking out of your character's armor, but I do not think it will happen in this game. I'm not sure if they will ever find the resources to do such a thing, but if there is enough fan demand for it, and they can allocate resources, I suppose that it could be done in the future.

Why would you want to do body tattoos on a character who you'll likely never see naked unless you undress them completely, which is highly suspect anyway?

Height I do not actually care about, but I would really like to change my character's overall weight built/ muscle mass, and for the girls, chest size. To be honest, I actually do not like these overly skinny girls with huge chests or these overly buff guys that can barely get through doors. ESPECIALLY, if they kinda don't fit the class to me (for my characters people). For instance, I don't expect my female mage character, one who has been stuck in a tower, her entire life to always be super skinny and fit looking. I'm actually expecting my adorable little book-worm to be a little heavier built (husky) from the lack of physical labor. I don't want some twig of a woman as a warrior, I want someone who looks like they can take a hit. The same goes with guys. If I played as a guy rogue, I would want him slimmer but still have some muscle, as his main priority would be speed and agility rather than strength. I mean look at Skyrim. It only had one slider to make your character bigger, and that was more than enough for most. I get that they would have to spend more time on the game in order to do this but seriously, what would it hurt?

While I would have liked to see maybe 3 body types for each inquisitor, I realize that makes a LOT of extra work. Suddenly that's 24 body types you have to make armor and clothing for. And that is a LOT of extra work and expense, and I can totally see why racial diversity was chosen over that, because that's a huge investment.

I'm also still iffy on body sliders because as the current technology stands, armor suddenly looks a lot less realistic. It's find if you're wearing clothes, robes, or maybe light rogue style armor, but the moment you get into chainmail and heavy armor suddenly the limitations become obvious and your character looks like they're wearing a sweater with an armor pattern instead of real armor, for the most part. We're getting there, but I expect it'll be awhile before solid mesh-work and free-form body sculpting marry together perfectly.

As for body tattoos and scars? Yes, yes, and yes. (I'm also in the camp that the Dalish vallaslin covers more than just the face.) Kinda sad that it won't be there this time around. I get that we're usually clothed but what about them romance scenes?  ;)
