Oh, oh, oh! Now I just have to let the nergasims loose on this one!

So, from what I have gathered (and anyone is free to expand on this detail), they have revealed at least 3 mount types thus far from gameplay, and simply pre-order bonus material: 1) Horse (to include the Flames of Inquisition mount armor) 2) One Red Hart Halla and 3) a Bog Unicorn (the effect of magic reanimating a dead horse that apparently met the business end of an ass-whopping with a sword to the head!)

Now, on to the completely hypothetical fun stuff. If we are given the option to name these mounts, here we go:

- The Horse (with or without the armor): Ashe (a good solid reference to many cool things of the same name) or Brego (as a full on Lord of the Rings nerd, I like the meaning behind this name.. of a horse named for a long dead king, that was considered half-mad, but had seen much of war!)

- Red Hart Halla: Whatever the hell that word was for "friend" in elvish. Sadly I cannot claim enough nerd cred. to commit that language to any long term memory.

- Bog Unicorn: Hel (for the Norse goddess of death), Shi (the Japanese word translates as death), or in a sudden urge of humorous irony, I would go with Lucky or Sunshine.

Now, if excited speculation can be offered, here are some "what if's" that made my brain just 'splode with silliness. Imagine, for a moment if we got:

- a Wyvern (hey, that gay-ish dude from Dragon Age II: Mark of the Assassin DLC got to ride one!), I would go with Wyrm (just.. because) or perhaps something cliché like Drago

- If we got a giant sized Canine / Feline type of mount: Jaeger jumps out at this one, regardless of dog or cat like (for those that do not know, Jaeger is German for hunter, though with the enjoyment of Pacific Rim and I sure most do!)

- a Griffin: I enjoy Harry Potter enough to admit I would entertain using Buck-beak (even though, yes fellow pottheads I know that is "technically" a hippogriff.) or, I would probably go more direct with, like Raptor or something..

So, there we have it. My nergasim revealed and sated for the time being!

In LoTR? I believe it was "mellon."

Are you ok? I'm worried about you after all that typing lol

Definitely go with Lucky for the bog unicorn... i might steal that myself, actually

The other names are remarkably well thought out and unique i'm impressed.

200 stars!!!!

Well good lord @Riverdaleswhiteflash! If that is true.. that elvish sucks wallnutz!

So, how about the Dragon Age lore / Thedas type elvish? Didn't Merrill begin calling Hawke something like "Lethaline" (and yes my fellow nerds if you have more epic epicness than I do to confirm I spelling it wrong, you are free to correct me!) :wizard:  on a regular basis, and if so, wasn't that word a kind of colloquial use meaning "friend"?

At least something cool like that. Or, hell with it, even the Klingon word for friend would have to be cooler than melons! LOL

Hartburn.

Does it have a special secret talent called the "Hartattack"?

I believe it was "lethallin," and while I don't know that we're ever given an exact translation I think "friend" is probably a safe guess. (If that's not exact I'm sure it means something similar.)

It would if mounts were able to fight.

(Or are they?)

I do it too. Lol
I don't have anything planned yet because I don't know every mount that available yet. >_>
I have to know first. Why? I don't know, but it matters. lol

Haha, same here.  I like taking things seriously when I'm hooked into a story as much as I am with Dragon Age.  Not that I dislike funny names, though.  I was extremely amused by Dog being called "Barkspawn."  And this thread is making lawl quite a lot.

Anyhow, I'm bound to name one of my mounts Atlas.  The others kind of depend on what the mounts look like, what seems fitting.  But, other steed names that I like are: Neptune, Strider, Swift, Arundel, Shadow, and Harrow.

Amigo. Am I Ok?

No. No I am not. By any clinical, social or psychological definition of the word. But I do appreciate you asking! B)

Oh, c'mon my work consists of near constant typing.. and what soda I am drinking way to much of can only have the beneficial adverse affect of giving me too much free reign over tapping into my imagination for no reason at all!

     It is just fun! :bandit:

So, get this:

So a Hart Halla, is named Hartburn, and has a epic skill known as Hartattack, then.. oh here it is:

We get this also:

An Ass

That is named Cheeks

and has the ultimate, mega-action kill move known as "ass attack!"

EPIC!

@Hellbiter88

Outstanding choices indeed!

But I am surprised, for I can't help but wonder how you wouldn't entertain such a profound name for a pig like... Wilbur!

Too cliché huh?

The Bog Unicorn can be tragically referred to as Artax.

Oh god that made me cry :(

That child actor is horrible though...
