well I talked to  Barrett Rodych  am in the same boat as you i have  i3 4130  3.4  evga gt 740 4gb ddr3 and  6 gb ram  he said i should be able to run it on medium settings diping in to high

Well your specs seem to be higher than mine so you would be able to run it on higher settings. Your processor is 4th gen mine is 3rd gen. Your RAM is higher @ 6 gb while mine is 4 gb and graphic card is 4 gb whereas mine is 1 gb

hey there,

I thought I would meet the minimum requirements easily, but seems I've been wrong. I happen to have a 3.0 GB dual core thingy instead of a quad core.

Now, will I be able to play this game, even if at lowest quality possible, or do I need to upgrade before? I meet all other requirements. Anybody knows, if this is a critical lack of hardware? This totally ruins my blissfull soon-I-can-play-it mood.

somebody please tell me, everything will be just fine!

oh, and please excuse my bad english

Is there anywhere I can get a demo or something of Battlefield 4?  Would like to test how well my PC can run it but don't want the game...

you have hyper threading too so your CPU acts like Quadcore

All Core series processors are hyperthreaded. Yours is i3 too :) but the 4th gen and at 3.4 GHz, mine is 3rd gen 2.4 GHz

Being curious about how Frostbite games look and feel, I installed BF4 and NFS Rivals on my PC. Even at the lowest settings, both these games still look pretty good!

My advice would be to get the game, run it, and then decide on upgrading components.

I have Battlefield. My card is  an ATI 6790. I have a 6 core and 16 gigs of RAM and the game runs perfect on Medium settings. :wizard:

I winced when CANYOURUNIT  told me I could not run it because of my card. That site is so off sometimes.

Some of the variants are 4 core, some are 2x2. They also have a speed booster, so it is ultimately the same thing.

I would invest in an upgrade or console.

My first year at university I bought a small laptop that I used to use for programming. I was bored during the summer and broke and decided to buy jade empire. It turns out I could only run jade empire on minimum settings. It was terrible.

I wouldn't want you to go through a similar ordeal

Edit : Your PC is fine, get a better card. Get someone to install it for you, or you can do it yourself but make sure you are in a static free enviroment

I think there was a much bigger difference in level of prettiness between low and highest settings at the time Jade Empire was released compared to today.

actually, this isn't true, most recent dual core intel CPUs are hyperthreaded, however, most Quad cores are not, that's a rather sweeping generalization to make.

Again, not true. All of the 4th Generation core i5's with only 2 cores (all the mobile i5's) are hyperthreaded. Most of the desktop core i5 series processors are not hyperthreaded, however, there is one that is.

to check the exact specs of each processor, you really need to check http://ark.intel.com/ on a case by case basis.
