While Nathaniel, Justice, Anders and Oghren were given some attention after Awakening and are quite likely to at least be mentioned in the New Dragon Age, the female part of Awakening team oddly seems to miss out. Do you think that we will hear again about those two or Bioware abandoned those characters forever (which would be sad, as both were quite interesting)?

I agree two great characters that they just dropped. To make up for it in my "head canon" and fanfiction they both play really big roles.

I hope to see Sigrun in DAI. She's badass. I don't like Velanna though and I'd rather never see her again.

This is quite strange as even characters such as Keran Or Danzig appear in the Keep and no attention is given to same party members!

Well, Sigrun is unlikely to appear again because she's difficult to keep alive.

Velanna was originally slated to appear in DA2, but was replaced by Merrill and Anders. Personally, having romanced Merrill, I feel the richer for it.

I think Sigrun is unpopular because she tends to be the last one picked up in DA:A and DA:A isn't that popular to begin with. Whereas Velanna is just a racist.

Would love for Sigrun to come back and she is quite possibly the only female dwarf I'd ever romance if it was possible. Would also love for Velanna to come back as well. She can be a bit of a ******, but I enjoyed having her around far more then Nathaniel.

You can't talk about what is in or not in the Keep here.  Why is it everyone suddenly dose not understand that?

Same. Sigrun is the only reason I liked Awakening.

My head canon is that about 30 years after the evens of DA:O, the Warden, Alistair, Oghren, Sigrun, Velanna, Nathaniel Howe, and Bethany and all go off on their Calling together, and die in the deep roads atop a mountain of slaughtered darkspawn.

Did you play the Wardens Keep DLC?

The calling is now a thing of the past.

I've played the DLC. Are you talking about Avernus' research?

The Calling isn't a thing of the past yet. The taint has yet to be cured really, other than Fiona, and her case is kind of special.  Personally I hope the devs never have the taint be cured. It's a bit of a cop out to have the player Warden completely avoid the consequences. Delay sure, but not cheat.

OP remember, there is still a NDA in effect. We beta testers aren't allowed to discuss what is or isn't in the Keep just yet.

Oh, I don't get that impression at all.  In fact, I'd say that Sigrun is one of the most popular companions in DA: A.  I'm surprised that she's not been back, but it makes sense given that the vast majority of her epilogue slides end with her death or disappearance.  Of course, given how Anders seems to have recovered amazingly from  an arrow through the neck, it seems like the DA: A epilogue slides aren't really meant to be taken seriously.

I always thought Sigrun was one of the first to be picked up. I got the impression a lot of people did Blackmarsh last.

Sigrun is partially unlikely to show up because she was committed to going back to her Legionnaire roots and dying in glorious battle. It isn't that she and a death wish per se, but she was very duty-bound to die in the service of her cause. I think that alone makes it unlikely she'll show up as anything other than a cameo role.

Velanna is slightly different. I can imagine her showing up with regards to the plot-line involving her sister and the intelligent darkspawn again. Her sister basically inherited the Architect's plan, after all.

I agree. As unpleasant as Velanna was, her sister's plot thread was left unresolved at the end of Awakenings and so there's a good chance she could reappear.

I can't think of any plot-relevant reason why Sigrun should make an appearance, but she was definitely my favourite companion in Awakenings and so I live in hope!

Velanna changes drastically and her view on humanity changes as well if you raise her approval. Its a very rich character development for a game as short as DA:A.

I've played Awakening once. And I don't remember them, at all. I remember Anders and Nathaniel, probably because they were in DAII as well. But I also remember Oghren and he wasn't in DAII. So naturally I'm not gonna miss Velanna and Sigrun. And IF they were in DAI it would just be a nice little detail.

Of all the Awakening companions Sigrun, Velanna and Nathanial are the ones I want to see the most. In that order.

My only concern is that, with each passing game, an appearance by Sigrun becomes increasingly less likely.  Not only is she a Warden (like Velanna), but she's also a Legionnaire and has shown some longing for returning to the Deep Roads.  Now that this game takes place 5-10 years after Awakenings, I am finding it harder to believe that Sigrun is just chilling in Amaranthine instead of fighting darkspawn to her death.  Which makes me sad.

Doesn't Awakening take place 6 months after Origins ends (the timeline is kinda screwy, though, since Anders is already in Kirkwall at the start of Act 1 of DA2…) Depending on exactly when DA:I starts it's been at least 9 years, possibly 11 or so.

That said, this is BioWare and Sigrun was a bit of a fan favourite, so if they want her to still be alive then she will be.

I'm sure you are right on both counts.  I gave a range because I couldn't remember how long specifically, but your timeline sounds right to me.

And, yes, if Anders could miraculously recover from an arrow through his neck and Leliana, Wynne, and Oghren could all recover from being slaughtered by the Warden, I'm sure that Sigrun could still be alive.  It's just less and less likely, unfortunately.  If she's not in DA: I, I just don't see her showing up in the future since they would have opted twice to not work her into the story since her last appearance.
