I'm rooting against Fiona dying, to be sure.

Hope our warden dies a slow and painful death in the beginning of the game. I blame my warden for not being able to romance Leliana :P

Leliana doesn't look like she's in the mood for love in DAI (based on the trailers).

Now that's a first around here in the forums. I like it. Personally I never really understood why she gets the Mary Sue label... writer's pet maybe, Mary Sue? nah..

As for the topic I think that Justinia and the other higher ups in the Chantry will die. Other characters from Asunder likely have plot armor thanks to *cough* Cole's subplot*cough*

If Hawke is there, or even rumored to be there at the beginning I sure hope they don't do something cliche and kill off Hawke's LI (who very likely was also there).  That would just suck, and at least for my Hawke probably send them on a killing rampage.  Romancing Fenris in a rivalry was no easy task.  I think my Hawke would adopt his constant angst and anger.

Inquisitor: "I was granted powers by a mysterious spirit and have been saving the world. How did you survive, Champion?"

Hawke: "I've just been campin' out here with my friend Blinky. He's a cute one, aint he?"

It's then revealed that time is screwed up in the Fade and the darkspawn were actually created by Hawke time-travelling back and meandering into the Black City on an afternoon stroll.

This explains everything ever and I love it.

Maybe you get a temporary companion and they die. Like Jenkins, Wilson, those guys in DA:O, and Carver or Bethany.

hah.. I didn't even see your post above mine.

I think there's a chance family will die at least (with the Human).

Fiona, the Divine, many First Enchanters + Senior mages, many Templars,.....then there's the civilian casualty lists.

I hope so about Fiona.   :P  Probably not, though.  I have a feeling that a lot of senior mages are going to die, and maybe Adrian from Asunder.

Anora/Alistair?

I highly doubt that.  Way too risky to send a ruler of a nation in the midst of all hostile parties.  A high-standing representative would most likely be sent in his/her place.

Schmooples is confirmed to be dead. That is the sole reason why Lelianna join the inquisition, to get revenge for her nug.

Escapes slavery to:

Fight against "oppression"

Cure the Taint, a first.

Give birth to a king. A dragon king.

Be allowed to leave the Wardens, given that she's Taint free, why would they let this happen

Becomes Grand Enchanter.

Her title's well deserved.

Oh, come on, even Hawke did more than that. And Fiona has far more life experience than either Hawke or the Hero of Ferelden.

Fist Enchanter Irving, Knight Commander Greagoir.

I hope they are not going to kill Evangeline or Rhys off.

I'm the exact opposite, I pray that both Rhys and Evangeline bite it (or just that we never have to hear of them ever again).

But I found Irving and Greagoir really interesting and I hope we get to see them again (if age hasn't taken them)

Player characters are by definition Mary Sues. At least in a game like Dragon Age. What exactly is your argument here?

That it's not a jarring or negative thing, given all the precedents we have.

Hawke...sort of.

Hawke reportedly "dies" in the blast but you later find them towards the end of the game in the Fade because of course they've been staying alive in the Fade for months on end. They're Hawke.

The Elder One is actually attacking the physical world in order to get away from Hawke.

Yeah, Hawke's completely trashed his nice Black City.

Hawke - the ultimate weapon against the Elder One! :D

"Elder One, I'm here to join you and help you take over the world and stuff!"
"Uhhh... thanks, but that's really not necessary..."
"Oh, but I insist!"

(The Elder One's plans go down in flames)

Yes. Yes it is. Which is why I'm glad the PC doesn't matter after they've accomplIshed their goal.

Given Hawke's appearance in DAI, apparently this isn't the case.

depending on who they think would go to a summit like this but I'm guessing...

Anora if she goes there to help support peace and players have data that have her as Queen.

and maybe Divine Justinia V.
