Okay this may come across as a stupid question, but are the journal and codex back in Inquisition?
I'm pretty sure we haven't seen any pictures of them, and I'm not sure if the war table has replaced the journal in terms of managing quests, though it would be a pity if it had been replaced.
Codex is there for sure. There are Inquisition perks increasing experience gained from Codex entries, and we have seen gaining said entries during gameplays.
As to journal, I don't remember, but I think it's safe to say that it remains intact.
