Still using male animations for FemInq in cutscenes?

What if....

They made a last minute change and now FemInq has male animations outside of cutscenes as well? There would then be no discrepancy.  That would be grand.

Too bad about Cass, though.

It will be like Mass Effect 3 all over again, "feminine" walk outside of cutscenes and male copy walking in cutscenes.

Be thankful that the staff didn't switch to a M8 Avenger.

But why does the inquisitor have to have the same posture as Cassandra?

probably because that's how she walks when she's not in cinematics. If she walked like that normally I wouldn't have an issue.

No, I meant perhaps they changed it so that she shares ManQuisitor's walk all the time. Even outside of cutscenes.

I highly doubt it, though.  I was mostly just throwing my hopes out to the universe.

Let me show a pic to those who say they think Femquisitor walk is neutral, or that they don't know what we're talking about:

cPjXRWW.jpg?1

Cass has that sensual-sway-hips-style. Femquisitor walks like she's on horse back, or has very, very big, yeah you know... Her knees are just way too much to the sides. I'ts definitely a masculine walk. Nothing neutral about it. And I think it looks a bit silly, does not at all make sense when she a few seconds earlier walked like Cassandra.

I'll admit, i quite like the walking outside of cutscenes. But in cutscenes it's quite cringeworthy.... and Cass' walking seems even more exaggerated in this scene for some reason.

But it's not that bad, only fQuizzy's walk in cutscenes annoy me to no end.

It looks a lot better than the breaking your hips walk with Cassandra, especially if you have a suit of armor.

I think they should let people choose it because the inconsistency on the walk, it is a little silly since it seems they did not spend resources in animating the cut scenes too.

If female Inquisitor needs a feminine walk let it be something that requires skill. I want my ladies to permanently do the Egyptian walk.

OMFG, that's really going to bother me. Can't believe they f*cked up again after doing same thing in ME2/3 and DA2. I just can't.

Cassandra's walk honestly irked me more, I hate that over exaggerated hip sway and the wierd arm placement.

It doesn't work for her.

It all depends on the character.  I would have less issue if it was Cassandra that had the "masculine" walk and FemInq kept the sexualized walk in cutscenes simply because that's what I have come to expect from FemQuisitor, as much as it irks me.

But I was disappointed to see Cassandra with the sex walk after expecting that she'd share the animations of ManQuisitor the way she did in the Pax demo last year.

Frankly, the skirt bit was an unfortunate consequence of using same animations, which was virtually unnoticeable throughout the game.

I don't think an unintentionally funny scene is worth the cost of unique animations, especially when women in active duty walk without gaits to begin with.

But I suppose that as a male, I have a different perspective of things and this issue may be important to women.

Speaking as a guy myself, I feel it's important because of my experience with femShep. I loved the character to death, but it could be really jarring to watch her animations in some scenes.

Watching the scene several times and it looks neutral to me. I think its also a role playing issue why they chose for her to walk that way or even resources or it might be both reasons.

I'd like to think that the FemQuizzie cinematic walk was only noticeable as "manly" because she was positioned directly next to Cassandra's more traditionally feminine walk.  I'm hoping it really was just one instance of awkwardness that won't strike out at me in other scenes, because for me the PC's 'cantaloupe betwixt the thighs' strut was very disconcerting.  FemShep's footballer strut aesthetic is alive and well.

I did also happen to notice the upturned wrist thing that the FemQuizzies seemed to be doing when wandering around the world...that is, er, interesting as well.  I thought DA2 Hawke walked perfectly insofar as my preferences are concerned.

What makes it the most jarring is that the-out of-cutscene animations are so exaggeratedly effeminate that the cutscene walk is just too different. Although even then, the Inquisitor we saw in the latest Twitch stream seemed to walk excessively bowlegged.

Also, it's exceedingly weird to see Cassandra flouncing and sashaying her way through the world when she seems so much a no-nonsense Aveline type. That's what I loved about Aveline, that she was a woman but not dainty or effeminate at all.

I wish we could choose wether our Inquisitors walked like a slinky sexpot or a normal person.

Cass hip swaying is not that wide. She walk like I know some women walk, I can easily walk like that and I don't break anything nor does it take time to train. However, walking like Feminquisitor, the cowboy style, that takes a little practice and it feels very awkward. When people sometimes makes fun of how some dudes walk, it tend to be a walk style like that they use as an example.

And yet Aveline walked the way FemHawke did outside of cutscenes. Thank ye gods that she didn't thrust her hip out to the side in her idle stance, though.

I just watched the trailer again to see the walk.

I had not noticed it before, but when it was pointed out to me the difference between Cass and the Inq is evident.

The Inq walk wasn't that bad though. I think we should wait for the entirety of the game. Perhaps the walk I'm this particular scene is scripted to make the inquisitor look tired and exasperated from the day's events.

I never noticed that actually. Probably because most of the time she was either off screen running after Hawke or fighting. I did notice it for Merrill, who thankfully didn't share the sex stance either.

I have a big problem with that too, Cassandra is suppose to be the heavy armor companion with military experience. The way she walks is just to fashionable.

I would not oppose a more light walk for Cassandra because maybe that is who she is? but for example Sera does not seems the person that walks that way either but somehow she has the Merrill walk too.

Overall my problem with this, is that they are not giving personalty to the companions with the animations, it is more if you are a female take this breaking hips walk, no ones cares if that is OOC for you.

I like to walk/run around the world using my companions sometimes.

Merrill also walks around like FemHawke which is a facepalm moment.  But yeah, she at least doesn't thrust her hip out in her idle stance.
