As a woman, I love that FemShep walked and moved and sat down like a man. It made her look like a soldier instead of a flouncy runway model. Also, I tend to not be very feminine myself so it was refreshing to see another woman who moved like me.Speaking as a guy myself, I feel it's important because of my experience with femShep. I loved the character to death, but it could be really jarring to watch her animations in some scenes.
Still using male animations for FemInq in cutscenes?

Eh, not looking for a runway model, just someone whose motions aren't clearly a guys. It really bothered my mom during my run through with her. It would be great if they would get a female mma fighter into the mocap studio.

I hate how the tone of these discussions always have an undercurrent of anti-femininity, as if we can't criticize BW's tendency towards both gender essentialism AND defaulting to masculinity when needed without also acting like feminine anything is Bad. I mean, if I were BW, I would give Cassandra the male animation set for questing and any cutscenes related to questing. But for things like the scene we saw in the Twitch stream, a more relaxed, feminine walk seems pretty natural. Just because she's had extensive military training doesn't mean that she can't express feminine characteristics, nor does it undermine her capabilities to do so.
I'm not thrilled with the cutscene animations used for the Femquisitor, but I think that the female elf model is exacerbating it (because her shoulders are so narrow, the wide-legged gait looks even more awkward). Hopefully it's not as noticeable on more balanced models.

Well, I'm myself not really feminine but I'd never walk like Femquisitor in the cut-screen or sit with my legs wide open like Femshep.

There aren't enough likes in the world to express how much I love this post. Very nicely said.

Does it really stand out though?
Yes. yes it does. FemHawke and now Cass and Femquisitor look like snakes slithering across a field when walking/running in game play, then all of a sudden they "man up" when in the presence of a cutscene camera. Also, the fact that they stand in nearly Ballet's Fourth Position is strikingly obnoxious to me at least.
I could understand Isabella, and Maybe Vivienne, but not anyone else.

My problem is not that, maybe she doses indeed walk more with her hips, the problem is given this type of walk to all the females in the game, like I said I want to choose and sure do not want all the characters with the same animation, especially with heavy armor.
And by the way there is the same amount of hate for female characters without your "typical" feminine traits, one just have to look at Cassandra or the way Femshep walks. There is nothing wrong with your "typical" feminine walk but there is also nothing wrong with the other type of animations.
Women do have different walks too, they do not necessary have to be masculine or feminine. I hate how people are also "anti-masculine" when we talk about women.
Bottom line I want to choose in the CC the animation of my characters.

Lkike how Dragon's Dogma allowed you to change your stance? I think the two scales were masculine/feminine and timid/assertive or something like that.

using male animations = omg they couldn't be bothered to develop female animations, so sexist
using female animations = omg they sexualized female characters, so sexist
Yeah different people have different opinions. Wierd, huh?

This topic is analogous with the chainmail bikini one.
Femhawke and Femquisitor are this. Written and dressed by abysmally different teams, and it shows.
Nilin from Remember me is this. Badass and bombastic.
Jodie Holmes is this. Matter-of-fact. Just female rather than "feminine".

A choice between the default gait here, the feminine sashay and the masculine swagger would be awesome to have. And obviously, NPCs should have the gait that fits them personally.

In the thread "The choice Between sexy or awesome armor", there is a poster (who shall not be named) that has rather strident views and opinions on the matter. This poster has pretty much taken over that thread with ever increasingly bizarre attacks on people's mindsets and tastes.

I wish everyone just used the male animations. Seeing the Inquisitor and Cass do that sissy runway strut is just terrible.
